Purpose: This study empirically examines the relations among corporate performance, technology, and corporate capabilities for service companies to find factors that could affect the competitiveness of the service industry. Most study on technology in the service industry have been conducted in developed countries, and yet there exist not sufficient empirical reviews. Research design, data and methodology: This paper, using rare empirical data, examines Korea's service industry and aims to make an academic and managerial contribution to the understanding of the relation between corporate competence and performance. This study analyzes 567 Korean Domestic Companies in Non-manufacturing and Service Industry, using the 2020 Detailed Survey of Venture Businesses (2500) data. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis are performed. Results: Results show, Hypothesis 1 that internal competence has positive influence on technological strength, is supported. However, Hypothesis 2 that technological strength mediates between internal competence and business performance, Hypothesis 3 that external competence has positive influence on technological strength and Hypothesis 4 that technological strength mediates between external competence and business performance are all partially supported/rejected. Conclusions: This study suggests that technological strength is an important factor that affects both market share and sales. And mediating effect of technology strength emphasized in market share. However, in managing sales, more cautious approach and a more detailed analysis are needed..
The purpose of this study was to explore relationships among technology development strategy, marketing competence, knowledge management competence, and company performance of textile and clothing companies. Survey data collected from 187 employees in the textile and clothing companies were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. In results, certain levels of correlations were found among technological development strategy, marketing competence, knowledge management competence, and company performance. Specifically, technological gap which was one of the technology development strategy factors was a variable significantly affecting innovation performance and financial performance of textile and clothing companies. Knowledge management competence affected innovation performance whereas marketing competence affected financial competence of textile and clothing companies.
This dissertation aims to empirically analyze the factors that determine the market competitiveness that would enable SaaS enterprises to survive. The contents of this dissertation includes; (l)analysis of factors that determine market competitiveness of domestic SaaS enterprises, (2)structural analysis of factors that determine the market competitiveness of SaaS enterprises on the their performance. Results of analysis of this dissertation are as follows. First, the factors that determine market competitiveness of SaaS enterprises were found to include (l)enterprise management competence, (2)competence for technological possession, (3)reliability and safety, (4)customer management competence, and (S)competence to cope with external environment of the enterprise. Second, the outcome of structural analysis of factors that determine the market competitiveness of SaaS enterprises on the their performance illustrated that (l)enterprise management competence and (2)competence for technological possession has structural relationship of imparting influence on the (6)enterprise performance by the full medium of (3)reliability and safety, (4)customer management competence, and (5)competence to cope with external environment of enterprise.
Covid-19 calls for minimizing gatherings of people in spaces such as offices. Organizations are encouraging information-sharing activities among employees by using online platform technology. Recently, Organizations are supporting their work using the metaverse. This study confirms the effect of metaverse presence on the intention to share knowledge by forming the intrinsic motivation of the employees and the moderating effect of the individual's digital technological competence. We presented research hypotheses through previous studies such as virtual reality and tested the hypotheses using 309 samples obtained through surveys. As a result, the social, tele, and self presence of the metaverse increased organizational-related intrinsic motivation(organizational identification, value congruence) and had a positive effect on the intention to share knowledge. In addition, digital technological competence moderated the relationship between value congruence and intention to share knowledge. This study suggests the importance of strategies to enhance the presence of metaverse for organizations to increase work productivity by using metaverse and the need to support individual digital competence reinforcement.
This paper develops a model of the export timing and export performance of venture firms by drawing by resource based view and born-global firm theory. The model aims at explaining the role of internal resources of small new venture firms and environment factors in accelerating the firm's export timing and achieving export growth. Hypothesses were developed around the following factors: management characteristics in terms of CEO's foreign experience and export commitment; organizational characteristics in terms of technological competence and marketing competence, and inter-functional cooperation; and finally environmental factors in terms of domestic and market attractiveness and foreign market attractiveness influence both the export timing and export performance. Structural equation modeling analysis by using 214 small new ventures provides a partial supports for the hypotheses. The result showed that technological competence have an influence on early export timing and that CEO's foreign experience and export commitment, technological competence and foreign market attractiveness are related export performance significantly. It also showed the significant relationship between export timing and export performance.
This article prospects the patterns of technological innovation in the steel industry and suggests the directions of technological innovation in Korean steel industry. Technological innovation patterns can be analysed through technological trends, innovation-inducing mechanism, and innovators' relationships. In the technological trends, direct coupling of manufacturing processes, lasting growth of mini-mill, and the importance of technological integration are prospected. In the innovation-inducing mechanism, while production system will be specialized, the development of new steel materials and environment-friendly technological innovation will be accelerated. In the innovators' relationships, steel industry faces more complex competition and new forms of inter-firm cooperation including M&A, joint venture, and joint R&D. In order to cope with such changes in the technological innovation patterns, Korean steel industry need to establish core competence based on technological innovation through a great leap in R&D investment, the production of high value-added products, the development of new generation steel technologies, strategic joint R&D, comprehensive technological cooperation, and government's active support.
This study aims at analysing the role of crisis in the technological innovation. It has been taken for granted that organizational crisis has detrimental effects on the survival of organizations. But recent studies showed that organizational crisis has positive effects on organizational learning. They argued that crisis would provide a opportunities for reflecting the effectiveness of existing organizational routine. This study analyses the process and role of crisis in the development of CDMA mobile communication system and argues that crisis has effects on technological innovation when organizations have prior knowledge base which can be exploited in organizational learning. Secondly, it is argued that crisis can result in organizational transformation which facilitates organizational learning by integrating prior knowledge base and new knowledge. Thirdly, it is suggested that crisis may be good facilitator for organizational learning in case of competence-enhancing innovation rather than competence-destroying innovation.

This study investigates the effect of entrepreneurship on corporate performance highlighting the mediating role of technological innovation and the moderating role of marketing competence. By identifying the role of technological innovation and marketing competence within the relationship between the entrepreneurship and corporate's business performance, this study aims to improve SMBs' competence. Special attention was given to the fact that while there are some technology-based SMBs which have achieved positive outcomes through innovation, there are some other firms which have not been able to deliver expected outcomes despite of their technological competence. The data used in this study came from CEO or chief research executives of SMBs. Results of the data analysis show that the innovative sprit which is an important factor of entrepreneurship has an positive effect on technological performance, financial performance and non-financial performance. However, risk- taking tendency has an positive effect on technological performance but negative effects on financial and non- financial performance of the firms. This study also has examined the mediating effect of technological innovation on the relationship between entrepreneurship and corporate's performance and the result reveals that technological innovation plays a mediating role within the relationship. Specially, innovative spirit plays a full mediating role within the relationship between technological commercialization capacity and financial and non-financial performances of SMEs'. Also, risk taking tendency has a full mediating effect on the positive relationship between strategic planning capability and both financial and non-financial performance. Regarding the moderating role of marketing capability within the relationship between the entrepreneurship and the performance of the firms, results of data analysis shows as follows. Marketing professional capability plays a moderating role between risk taking tendency and performance of the firm and marketing structural capability plays a moderating role between innovative spirit and the performance of the firms. Based on these results, this study confirms that SMEs' business performance is effected by entrepreneurship. Innovative spirit plays a mediating role within the relationship entrepreneurship and business performance. However, Marketing capability has a partial moderating effect on the relationship between the entrepreneurship and the business performance.
This study proceeded to examine the cause of the continuous secret information leakage in the firms. The purpose of this study is to find out what type of security among administrative, technological and physical security would have important influence on firm's security performance such as the security-incident response competence. We established the model that can empirically verify correlation between those three types of security and the security-incident response competence. In addition, We conducted another study to look at relation between developing department of security in the firms and reaction ability at the accidents. According to the study, the administrative security is more important about dealing with the security-incident response competence than the rest. Furthermore, a group with department of security has better the security-incident response competence and shows higher competence in fixing or rebuilding the damage. Therefore, this study demonstrates that investing in administrative security will be effective for the firm security.

With the rapid development and introduction of digital technologies, both everyday human life and technological processes of any production are changing, which stimulates the transformation of the economy and education. Digital technologies are not only a tool, but also a living environment of modern human, which opens up new opportunities: learning at any convenient time, continuing education, the ability to form individual educational learning trajectories and more. However, the digital environment requires teachers to take a modern approach to the organization of the educational process, the formation of new skills and abilities to work in the digital educational environment. As a result of the study, it was found that the system of vocational education should provide training for masters of industrial training who have a high level of digital competence. The purpose of the article is to single out, theoretically substantiate and determine the level of formation of structural components of digital competence of future masters of agricultural training. The structure of digital competence of agricultural master was analyzed on the basis of domestic and foreign scientists researches. Systematized research results indicate that digital competence consists of four components: motivational-value (combination of internal and external motives for the use of digital technologies in future professional activities), cognitive (a set of theoretical knowledge, skills and abilities of future master of industrial training to effectively build educational process with the use of digital technologies), activity-professional (expansion and deepening of knowledge, skills, necessary skills for effective implementation of digital technologies in the educational process) and evaluative-reflexive (ability to analyze and self-analyze own activities and its results taking into account professional characteristics, self-realization in professional activities through the use of digital technologies). These components are comparable with the indicators that describe the knowledge, skills and abilities needed by the future master of industrial training to organize the modern educational process. A questionnaire was conducted to determine the levels of this competence formation, which allows us to conclude that it is necessary to increase the level of formation of all components of digital competence of future masters of industrial training in agriculture. The results of the study can be used as a basis for the development of disciplines that form the special competencies of masters of industrial training in agriculture and programs of advanced training of teachers.
