The Effects of Programming Education using App inventor on Problem-solving Ability and Self-efficacy, Perception

  • The ability to use information technology has become increasingly important as technological advances continue to sweep through the computing world, and education for improving computational thinking has become globally instituted. In South Korea, informatics subjects have been modified in the 2015 curriculum and are now compulsory in primary and secondary education. However, despite substantial financial investment and numerous studies promoting informatics education, there continues to be a serious lack of pre-service teachers capable of teaching computational thinking. This study investigated pre-service teacher programming education using App Inventor, their perceptions of App Inventor, and how use of the program affected teacher problem-solving abilities and self-efficacy. In the pre-test, the control group and experimental group showed no statistically significant difference; however, the post-test revealed that the two groups showed statistically significant differences in problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. The participants initially showed interest in using App Inventor; however, after practice-teaching and project-based learning, the participants demonstrated a growing negativity toward the program when they made errors and the functional limits of App Inventor became apparent. Although most participants stated that they would not use App Inventor in their classes, the positive statistically significant differences in problem-solving skills and self-efficacy indicate that this study could be utilized as a basis for building a teaching-learning program using App Inventor and creating an educational plan for teaching computational thinking.

  • 1. Purpose and Methode of study This study is that How to connect the characteristics of Sasang constitionion with Aptitude Test. To know the characteristics of each individual in modern times Generally, Psychological Aptitude Test is used. So, According to Sasang constitional groups classified with QSCC II, KIPAT occupation aptitude test ( total 55) and KAT-A aptitude test(total 260) was used. 2. Result of study 1) KIPAT occupation aptitude test rest of Sasang constitional groups Taeumin Group appeared high than another Group in investigative occupation and there is the significant difference between Taeumin Group and Soeumin Group Taeumin Group appeared high than another Group in technological occupation and there is the significant difference between Taeumin Group and Soyangin Group Taeumin Group appeared high than another Group in control aptitude and there is the significant difference between Taeumin Group and Soeumin Group Soyangin Group appeared high than another Group in instigation aptitude and progressive aptitude and there is the significant difference between Soyangin Group and Soeumin Group Soeumin Group appeared high than another Group in utility aptitude and there is the significant difference between Soeumin Group and Taeumin Group, between Soeumin Group and Soyangin Group. Soyangin Group appeared high than another Group in guilty conscience and there is the significant difference between Soyangin Group and Taeuwun Group. Soeumin Group appeared high than another Group in independence aptitude and there is the significant difference between Soeumin Group and Taeumin Group Taeumin Group appeared high than another Group in calculation ability and there is the significant difference between Taeunun Group and Soeumin Group 2) KAT-A aptitude test result of Sasang constitional groups Soyangin Group appeared high than another Group in vacabulary ability and there is the significant difference between Soyangin Group and Taeumin Group. When classified male and female, in the case of male, It showed that Soyangin Group is lower than Other Group in vacabulary ability and there is the significant difference between Soyangin Group and Taeumin Group , between Soyangin Group and Soeumin Group but there is no significant difference in the case of female.

수산·해운계 고등학교 제7차 교육과정 각론 개정 연구 (A Study the 7th Revised Curriculum Development for the Fisheries and Merchant Marine High School)

  • This article refers to the processions and the improvement of the 7th revised curriculum development for the Fisheries and Merchant Marine High School, published at Dec. 30, 1997. The general point of the 7th revised curriculum development was to cultivate creative Korean who will lead the epoch of globalization and information and to perform the learner-centered curriculum. Moreover, it defines the nature of Business High School not as completive but as continuing education. Based on this view, the improvment of 7th revised curriculum has been searched in varous sides. The group of general researchers and cooperators consisted of 12 members who were of university professors, teachers, related business men and executives in the administration branches, and the total researchers of 7th revised curriculum development were 90 members. The basic orientation of the research for the revised curriculum development was as following : The improvement of basic ability, job-analysis ability, integrity of theory and practice, acquisition of the certificate of national qualification, interrelation and cooperative role division between school and industrial fields, extension of self-decision ability of school and local society, protection of learner-selection right and maintaining close relations with the business-educational organization under life-long education system. Thus on the whole, the research for educational goals and contents, instructions, learning theory and evaluation is being processed with a high activity, based on the above mentioned plan of 7th revised curriculum development. At the same time, the methods and the models are being investigated. At last, it is to be noted that, in such as the 7th revised curriculum development research in this case, the effort should not be spared to harmonize the basic technological knowledge of the specialists in the Fisheries and Merchant Marine field and the cultural, liberal arts of personality education.

  • This study proceeded to examine the cause of the continuous secret information leakage in the firms. The purpose of this study is to find out what type of security among administrative, technological and physical security would have important influence on firm's security performance such as the security-incident response competence. We established the model that can empirically verify correlation between those three types of security and the security-incident response competence. In addition, We conducted another study to look at relation between developing department of security in the firms and reaction ability at the accidents. According to the study, the administrative security is more important about dealing with the security-incident response competence than the rest. Furthermore, a group with department of security has better the security-incident response competence and shows higher competence in fixing or rebuilding the damage. Therefore, this study demonstrates that investing in administrative security will be effective for the firm security.

  • Micro injection molding is a branch of micro system technology and has been under development for the mass manufacture of micro parts. Enhanced technological products like micro optical devices are entering the market. This paper presents fundamental research on the injection molding technique in micro fabrication. In order to successful manufacturing of micro plastic parts, it is necessary to research for development of micro-injection machine, machining of micro mold, decision of optimum injection conditions and the research for polymer material. Therefore in this study, in order to machining of micro mold, a mold core with microscopic V-shaped groove was tooled by ultra-precise tooling machine. The transcription experiments with a polymer, PMMA resin on the surface of core with Ni plating were carried out and surface profile of injected parts was measured with AFM.

Alliance Portfolio Diversity on Innovation Performance - the Role of Internal Capabilities of Value Creation

  • In this study, we suggest a new perspective on the linkage between alliance portfolio diversity and innovation performance based on a contingency approach. Using a longitudinal data set on alliance portfolios and patents of 182 firms in the U.S. manufacturing industries, we examined that alliance portfolio diversity has a U-shaped relationship with firm-level innovation. Internal value creation capabilities in terms of routine and ability are found to moderate the relationship between alliance portfolio diversity and innovation performance: Organizational search routine strengthens the relationship of alliance portfolio diversity and innovation performance while technological capabilities weaken and flip the relationship.

  • The global demand for underground facilities has increased substantially in the past decades, and a substantial number of underground projects have had to deal with challenging ground conditions in urban environments. Particularly challenging are weak and unstable water bearing soils. Advancements in shielded TBM tech-nology have led to significant improvements regarding the ability to control ground deformations in soft ground. Nonetheless, ground collapse may occur even when the most advanced TBM designs are employed if unexpected adverse ground conditions are encountered or if insufficient stabilizing pressure is transferred to the tunnel face. This paper reviews common approaches for face stability and face pressure transmission calculations, and provides an overview of some of the latest technological developments and considerations for soft ground TBM applica-tions.

  • Technical history of VTOL aircraft is examined from the early helicopter appearance to recent experimental rotorcraft in order to distinguish the core issues of those aircraft. Performance and technological challenges of some VTOL aircraft such as tilt rotor, convertiplane, gyroplane, and coaxial helicopter are discussed. As a new generation high performance rotorcraft, Sikorsky X2 is intensively investigated. Considering the developmental history of X2, the autorotational ability at high speed is recognized as a core technology. Analytic method of autorotation and some results are shown and presents research subjects related to the future Korean high performance rotorcraft.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to investigate problems with the current mathematics textbook. According to a survey, the following were the findings: Textbook is only a tool-book for introducing mathematical facts. It is a unique book for all students possessing different level of mathematical ability. There is difficulty in teaming math using technological devices and in activating(mental and concrete) manipulative activities. There is difficulty in communicating while doing mathematics. There is lack of defined and developed layout of textbook, et. al. It can be however found that these problems can be solved to some degrees, when mathematics textbook is developed based on constructivism. Recently, in mathematics education, it has been gradually emphasized that constructivism can be powerful in teaching and learning mathematics. There are however some difficulties in developing mathematics textbooks to reflect constructivism, such as to fill the gap between the contents written in the national curriculum determined in advance and the contents which students construct psychologically or socially in mathematics class.
