  • Resent East Asian economic growth has lead the increase of global trade volume and global logistics to the level of full-scale development as aiming to have quantitative growth in world trades in one hand and increasing mutual dependence among the East Asian Economic Bloc on the other. In other words, East Asian economic current growth is going along as connecting with 2 different process that are the increase of global trade volume and the technical development of global logistics system. And mutual dependence among the East Asian Economic Bloc shows the deepening trend in production and consumption. While having the flow of expansion in East Asian trade volume and logistics network in mind, this paper will study on trend in East Asian intra-trade and then study on change & tasks in the East Asian Logistics system.

  • As number of cyber traders are growing, the uses of technical analyzing indicators in trading increase as well. Parabolic SAR, which indicates changes of trend in the market, is one of the most used indicators by cyber traders. Especially when a market shows a specific trend, it is very useful. However, this indicator often gives late signals and shows less trustful ones in a stable market. This paper proposes a method that give more conservative signals by a composition of Parabolic SAR and Moving Average. The experiment will compare the earning rates of using only Parabolic SAR strategy and of using a composition strategy of Parabolic SAR and Moving Average.

  • Through time-series plots, we can see relatively stable trend of energy factor share and the decreasing trend of relative energy prices (to wages) in Korea. We can compromise these empirical facts with the following explanation: if elasticity of substitution between capital and energy is smaller than one(<1) in Korea, a change(decrease) in energy price can prevent income share of resources from rising in the process of economic growth. This is consistent with theoretical and empirical results that substitution between energy and capital is so difficult. From simple empirical analysis and limited information, we can carefully infer that, in the past in Korea, resource-specific innovation was performed widely. Finally, If we are to reduce the magnitude of "growth drag", we should decrease energy factor share. This can be accomplished by energy-augmenting technical progress in the case of elasticity of substitution less than 1 as in Korea.

SECULAR VARIATION OF ZOOPLANKTON BIOMASS IN THE SOUTH SEA OF KOREA (한국 남해의 동물성 플랑크톤량의 경년 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The present paper deals with secular analysis of zooplankton biomass by statistical method in the south sea of Korea during the period of nine years from 1963 through 1971. Data were taken from the Annual Report of Oceanographic Observations, Fisheries Research and Development Agency, Korea. The trend value of annual variations in the 108 month period above was calculated by method of 12 month moving average, and a period analysis was made by ore of correlogram method using autocorrelation coefficients. The trend of zooplankton biomass shows periodical fluctuation for the period of 63 months with high interrelationships. The seasonal variation has teen obvious with growth phase twice a year, in April and October.

  • There are several methods for the hydrogen production such as steam reforming of natural gas, photochemical method, biological method, electrolysis and thermochemical method, etc. These days it has been widely studied for the hydrogen production method having low hydrogen production cost and high efficiency. In this paper, patents in the hydrogen production by steam reforming of natural gas were gathered and analyzed. The search range was limited in the open patents of USA(US), European Union(EP), Japan(JP), and Korea(KR) from 1996 to 2006. Patents were gathered by using key-words searching and extracted by filtering criteria. The trends of the patents was analyzed by the years, countries, companies, and technologies.

  • The industry of LCD monitor and LCD/TV production is complicate, so there are several OEM/ODM companies concentrated on technical and professional skills. Brand name company establishes its own brand name, sells its own product, and reflects market request. Therefore, the main duty of brand name company is on sales and marketing. This article explains the operating flow on LCD monitor and LCD/TV industry, operating relationship between brand name company and OEM/ODM, and advantage and disadvantage on different points. Furthermore, future trend of LCD monitor and LCD/TV can be reviewed in the article.

Adoption of Foreign Technologies in Korean Manufacturing Firms: Characteristics and Microfoundations

  • The primary goal of this paper is to explore the microeconomic foundation of Korean firms' adoption of foreign technologies. The paper also reviews the overall trend of international technology transfers to Korea. The period covered in this paper is Korea's high growth era, from the 1960s to the 1990s. The works of this paper center on the two questions of what characterizes foreign technologies which had been imported through licensing contracts, and which driving forces expedite technology adoption by firms. The Korean experience provides the context of success in the catch-up growth. The co-movement of technology imports with capital goods imports manifests Korea's effort to improve the technical efficiency toward the world frontier. Underlying this trend are firms' decisions to adopt new technologies. The paper shows that firms respond proactively to wage increases by adopting newer technologies and thus, in turn, increasing employment, which implies the existence of a virtuous interactive mechanism among these factors.

  • Most of the operating pressurized water reactors (PWRs)has chosen Inconel 600 as steam generator tubing. The long-term operation of steam generators showed that the use of this material induced localized corrosion damages. The current trend is using Inconel 690 as a tube material for the replacement steam generators. Based on the current trend, we have chosen Inconel 690 for the advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) steam generator tube material.   • This study investigates mainly on the technical development trend through the published papers, such as asymmetric metal spinning, metal spinning in heat treatment conditions and free mandrel spinning. Although the classical spinning, so called conventional, shear, tube spinning, uses the axisymmetric shaped mandrel(which is same inner shape of the final product), in new technologies the mandrel can be asymmetric one, spinning can be done without mandrel and also spinning is done with heat treatment together.

But, plug-in door need widely gap between doorway and platform and it is raise an serious accident. Therefore, newly designed train must have safety device like a sliding step to prevent incident.
