  • In this paper, we describe the results of the docking phase test in the ground environment of the rendezvous/docking technology verification satellite under development for the first time in Korea. rendezvous/docking technology is a high-level technology in space technology, which is also very important for accessing and performing tasks on relative objects in space orbit. In this paper, we describe the ground test results that the chaser finally docks the fixed target using an air bearing device. Based on the thrust control algorithm in the docking phase and the relative object recognition and relative distance estimation algorithm using visual-based sensors validated in this paper, we intend to use them for later expansion to rendezvous/docking algorithms in three-dimensional space for testing in space.

  • This study intends to analyze the meaning of symbolism in ancestral memorial rite arrangemen from the view that ancestral worship connecting traditional society with modernity are the transmission of ritual. It appears as a change the theory of Yin-Yang and Five Elements that became the basis and ideology about the Confucian view of life and death, an understanding of the universe structure, and a change in the four seasons. Ancestral memorial rite arrangements acknowledge the existence of ancestors. And it is understood as a ceremonial instrument which the living and the dead communicate spatially with time through the symbolic system. In addition, the four seasons, spaces of the skyground and underground were symbolized and embodied through the selection and arrangement of ancestral memorial rites. In the modern ancestral memorial rite arrangement, the factors that determine the location require Time-space analysis of the target. This is because the offering is understood not only as a functional role but also as a temporal and spatial symbolism to be expressed through the offering. In this study, it is meaningful to consider it from the perspective of inheritance of ancestral worship culture through discussions about the ideological background and symbolic system that appeared in ancestral memorial rite arrangement

  • Sound Event Detection (SED) aims to identify not only sound category but also time interval for target sounds in an audio waveform. It is a critical technique in field of acoustic surveillance system and monitoring system. Recently, various models have introduced through Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events (DCASE) Task 4. This paper explored how to design optimal parameters of DenseNet based model, which has led to outstanding performance in other recognition system. In experiment, DenseRNN as an SED model consists of DensNet-BC and bi-directional Gated Recurrent Units (GRU). This model is trained with Mean teacher model. With an event-based f-score, evaluation is performed depending on parameters, related to model architecture as well as model training, under the assessment protocol of DCASE task4. Experimental result shows that the performance goes up and has been saturated to near the best. Also, DenseRNN would be trained more effectively without dropout technique.

  • 3D Object Detection using deep neural network has been developed a lot for obstacle detection in autonomous vehicles because it can recognize not only the class of target object but also the distance from the object. But in the case of 3D Object Detection models, the detection performance for distant objects is lower than that for nearby objects, which is a critical issue for autonomous vehicles. In this paper, we introduce a technique that increases the performance of 3D object detection models, particularly in recognizing distant objects, by generating virtual 3D vehicle data and adding it to the dataset used for model training. We used a spherical point tracing method that leverages the characteristics of 3D LiDAR sensor data to create virtual vehicles that closely resemble real ones, and we demonstrated the validity of the virtual data by using it to improve recognition performance for objects at all distances in model training.

  • Currently, as demand for cars at home and abroad increases, the number of vehicles is decreasing and the number of vehicles is increasing. This is the main cause of the traffic jam. To solve this problem, it operates a high-ocompancy vehicle (HOV) lane, a multi-passenger vehicle, but many people ignore the conditions of use and use it illegally. Since the police visually judge and crack down on such illegal activities, the accuracy of the crackdown is low and inefficient. In this paper, we propose a system design that enables more efficient detection using imaging techniques using computer vision to solve such problems. By improving the existing vehicle detection method that was studied, the trigger was set in the image so that the detection object can be selected and the image analysis can be conducted intensively on the target. Using the YOLO model, a deep learning object recognition model, we propose a method to utilize the shift amount of the center point rather than judging by the bounding box in the image to obtain real-time object detection and accurate signals.

  • For pattern recognition for machine learning, the larger the amount of learning data, the better its performance. However, it is not always possible to secure a large amount of learning data with the types and information of patterns that must be detected in daily life. Therefore, it is necessary to significantly inflate a small data set for general machine learning. In this study, we study techniques to augment data so that machine learning can be performed. A representative method of performing machine learning using a small data set is the transfer learning technique. Transfer learning is a method of obtaining a result by performing basic learning with a general-purpose data set and then substituting the target data set into the final stage. In this study, a learning model trained with a general-purpose data set such as ImageNet is used as a feature extraction set using augmented data to detect a desired pattern.

  • Tick infestation causes a significant threat to human and animal health, requiring effective immunological control methods. This study aimed to investigate the potential of recombinant Haemaphysalis longicornis enolase protein for tick vaccine development. The exact mechanism of the recently identified enolase protein from the H. longicornis Jeju strain remains poorly understood. Enolase plays a crucial role in glycolysis, the metabolic process that converts glucose into energy, and is essential for the motility, adhesion, invasion, growth, and differentiation of ticks. In this study, mice were immunized with recombinant enolase, and polyclonal antibodies were generated. Western blot analysis confirmed the specific recognition of enolase by the antiserum. The effects of immunization on tick feeding and attachment were assessed. Adult ticks attached to the recombinant enolase-immunized mice demonstrated longer attachment time, increased bloodsucking abilities, and lower engorgement weight than the controls. The nymphs and larvae had a reduced attachment rate and low engorgement rate compared to the controls. Mice immunized with recombinant enolase expressed in Escherichia coli displayed 90% efficacy in preventing tick infestation. The glycolytic nature of enolase and its involvement in crucial physiological processes makes it an attractive target for disrupting tick survival and disease transmission. Polyclonal antibodies recognize enolase and significantly reduce attachment rates, tick feeding, and engorgement. Our findings indicate that recombinant enolase may be a valuable vaccine candidate for H. longicornis infection in experimental murine model.

  • Domestic and overseas information with regard to harmful substances are analyzed. From the results, environmental-derived hazard chemicals, which show relatively low recognition, and hazard chemicals that occur unavoidably in food manufacturing process are selected as target harmful substances. Thus, educational leaflet contents were developed based on these substances. To find the effects of education with the above contents, this study surveyed 120 female college students living in Seoul. The purpose of the survey is to analyze the change in recognition, attitude and behavior on hazard chemicals in foods. The survey found that the recognition on harmful substance in foods increased; from 31.5~78.0% before education to 98.8% after education. It also indicates that vague anxiety in which the harmful substances may damage their health decreased by approx. 25.0%; from 77.8% before education to 52.8% after education. For the question of what they would do when government promotes to reduce harmful substances in foods, 12.3% of respondents said that they would actively follow the suggestions and 73.5% of them said that they would do their best before an education. However, 56.1% of them said that they would actively follow the suggestions after the education. It indicates that the ability to recognize harmful substances changed after the education. With regard to consumer behavior, when they knew about the harmful substances in foods, 49.6% of them said that they would select foods after investigating relevant information before the education, while 77.4% of them said that after the education; which is an increase of 27.8%. Further, 45.4% of them said that they would not purchase relevant foods before the education, while 20.9% of them said that after the education; which is a decrease of 24.5%. Therefore, it is considered that vague anxiety of consumers can be eliminated by providing persuasive information on harmful substances. To expand on the communication channel with consumers for food safety, contents development and educational promotion should be enhanced for providing food safety related information.
