DSSCs Efficiency by Tape Casting Pt Counter Electrode and Different Thickness Between Two Substrates (Pt 상대전극 성막 두께와 두 기판 간격에 따른 DSSC의 효율 특성)

  • DSSCs electrical characteristics and efficiency fabricated with different tape casting thickness Pt counter electrodes and different thickness between $TiO_2$ photo electrode and Pt counter electrode substrate were studied. 1 layer Pt counter electrode shows 3.979% efficiency. Efficiency increased as tape casting thickness decreased. The lowest open-circuit voltage was a 0.726 V and the highest short-circuit current was a 2.188 mA on 1 layer Pt counter electrode. On the different thickness between two substrates, the lowest open-circuit voltage 0.712 V and the highest short-circuit current 2.787 mA was measured at $60{\mu}m$ surlyn film thickness and it shows the highest value of 5.067% efficiency.

Effect of Binder Content on Physical Properties of LTCC Green Tapes (바인더 함량 변화가 LTCC 그린 테이프의 물리적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The properties of LTCC green tape with addition of binder were investigated in order to understand an effects of binder on multilayer processing. A green sheet form was fabricated through tape casting method with the MLS-22 powder. The lamination density increased with increasing amount of binder and lamination pressure. With increasing amount of binder, the elongation of ceramic sheets increased but the tensile stress and air-permeability decreased. The addition of excessive binder is caused defects in the green sheet during via hole punching. The optimum condition of the via hole without defects was observed from amount of the binder 10 wt%.

Rheology of Slurries and Effects of Polymer Volume Ratio in Aqueous PZT Tape Casting

  • For the fast dry of the aqueous tape, the process which water was reaplaced by organic solvent was proposed. Socalled, it was the solvent washing dry. Three organic solvents (methanol, ethanol and acetone) were selected for the washing solvent. The weight loss of the washed tapes was measured to evaluate the dry rate of the tapes and dried tapes were examined the generation of the cracks with the variations of the organic solvent and the washing time. Methanol, ethanol and acetone were available organic solvents for this method. The tapes washed in methanol, ethanol and acetone were dried rapidly for twenty minutes. After thirty minutes, the weight losses were not found any more, The solvent of the lower surface tension can decreases the crack of dried tape. If solvent substitutes water completely, though it was fast dried, crack can be eliminated.

  • In this study, we investigated $Li_2ZrO_3$ membrane as a candidate material for high-temperature $CO_2$ separation and evaluated mechanical property. $Li_2ZrO_3$ powder was synthesized by solid state reaction of $Li_2CO_3\;and\;ZrO_2$. Then we fabricated $Li_2ZrO_3$ tape using tape casting method. Dense $Li_2ZrO_3$ membrane prepared by sintering at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2 h after pressing $Li_2ZrO_3$ tape using lamination machine. Mechanical properties before and after $CO_2$ absorption of fabricated $Li_2ZrO_3$ membrane such as Hertzian indentation, Victors hardness and 3-point bending testing were evaluated.

  • In this study, nano-sized powders of $Si0_2-0^{\sim}15mol%B_2O_3$ composition were prepared by sol-gel processing method using TEOS(Tetra ethyl ortho silicate) and $H_3BO_3$ solution. The powders were tape-cast on High silicate glass sheet(HSG) substrate and sintered to form a layer of undercladding for the planar light wave module, During the sol-gel processing, $H_2O/Si$ mole ratio were varied to modify the size of the powders in a range from 600 to 75nm. The dispersion of the powder was modified by changing the pH of the slurry. Sintering temperature of the tape was observed to decrease with the size of the powder and the $B_2O_3$ content in the powder. When the silica powders of 75-125nm in diameter containing 15mol% $B_2O_3$ were used, 98 TD% was obtained at $1250^{\circ}C$, which is approximately $300^{\circ}C$ reduction in sintering temperature compared with micrometer-sized powders.

  • Gas pressure sintered silicon nitride based composites with 0~5wt% $\beta$-Si3N4 whiskers were prepared. The whiskers were unidirectionally oriented by a modified tape casting technqiue and green bodies with various microstructure were formed by changing stacking sequences of sheets cut from the tape. Orientations of the large elongated grains of the sample after gas pressure sintering were the same as the those of the whiskers of green body, and the sintering shrinkage and mechanical properties of sintered sample were consistent with the microstructural characteristics. In case of unidirectional samples, the sintering shrinkage normal to whisker alignment direction was larger than that parallel to the direction. The shrinkage difference inceaed as the whiskercontent increaed. As whisker content increaed, the crack length normal to and parallel to tape casting direction became shorter and larger, respectively. Although the grain size increased by th whisker addition, the flexural strength of unidirectional samples was not lower than that of smaple without the whisker. In case of crossplied and 45$^{\circ}$rotated samples, the anisotropy of mechanical preoperties disappeared.

  • In this study, an attempt was made to demonstrate the possibility of using laser scribing method in manufacturing the barrier ribs of plasma display panel. The scribing with a CO2 laser was conducted on the green tape produced by the doctor blade tape casting method. Among the processing parameters, the quenching gas pressure, shape of mask, and laser power were found to affect the depth and angle of the scibed barrier ribs.

Dispersion and Rheological Characteristics of Alumina Slurries in Aqueous Tape-casting Using Acrylate Binder (Acrylate를 결합제로 사용한 수계 테이프 캐스팅에서 알루미나 슬러리의 분산 및 점성 특성)

  • Measurements of sedimentation, solid loading, zeta potential, and viscosity were employed to determine a proper dispersant and its amount for a well dispersed alumina powders in aqueous alumina tape casting using acrylate as a binder. Polycarboxylic acid was the most effective one among various dispersants considered in the present study and its amount was 0.23∼0.24 g per 100 g alumina for a dispersion. Better dispersion was obtained as an increase of dispersant addition. However, the dispersion was hindered as the amount of dispersant was higher than the optimum amount because of bridging or tangling of polymer chains. Excellent aqueous alumina tapes were prepared from the slurry containing the optimum amount of the polycarboxylic acid (0.2g), alumina powders(100 g), acrylate and Benzoflex as binder and plasticizer, respectively. The viscosity of the slurry was 570 cps and the alumina loading in the tape was 57 vol%.
