  • Television News has significant impact on the information analysis of viewers by delivering world news to anonymous individuals everyday. We need to pay more attention to resolution considering the fact that even slight facial expression and the dress of TV anchor can be noticed by viewers in the high definition age, called HD TV, by radical changes in broadcasting situation. As a result, the beauty of expression that lighting technology has is extremely important in the high definition age. In news broadcast, as a phenomenon according to this change in trend, people have been looking for change in order to break with traditional TV news production by adopting DLP(Digital Lighting Processing) or LED(Light Emitting Diode). This effort has contributed to creating proper picture quality appropriate for HD TV. Nowadays Digital imaging is creating new trend in TV news production method from traditional analog-based lighting environment thanks to the development of IT(Information Technology) and digitalized lighting equipment. This change has led to building of HD studio and appropriate sets and lighting system. There are film set and projector which projects image on the screen and PDP, LCD, and DLP which has been used widely in recent years and LED which is often used as background in news program as examples, which has appeared since 1990s with HD TV. In this article, I analyzed the KBS News 9 lnce 1990s with in order to research the influence of television image component on the alyzed the KBS of TV article, I. I wille uggest the category of TV anchor image formulation in delivering information by means of lnce 1990s with based on the analysis result.

  • The position of the light source, illuminance distribution, and color temperature were evaluated in each lighting environment for the three main activities in a living room - 'watching TV,' 'reading' and 'relaxing.' In 'watching TV', the experiment was done to estimate the degree of comfort felt by the subjects when they watch static video and moving video, respectably, with different ambient brightness, with or without partial lighting above the TV set, and with different color temperatures. In 'reading', the comfortableness was estimated by the illuminance ratio of the ambient lighting to the lighting for reading and by the difference in color temperature. And in 'relaxing', the comfortableness was estimated by means of the ambient brightness, use/no use of a relaxing lamp, and color temperature. This experiment determined the general satisfaction for each visual act and the optimum lighting environment to reduce glare.

  • Since eco friendly and power saving products recently got into the limelight for the protection of environment, LED light technology has caught much of attention as the next generation broadcasting lighting. The newly introduced light source has such advantages as higher efficiency, longer life and its slim and compact forms leading to conveniency in installations. When combined with digital light control it gives more dynamic and various features to lighting. In this paper, used CIE standard for measuring light sources by their purposes and forms to make a comparative analysis of spectral distribution and color rendition of LED light source to those of existing lighting systems. By means of the cast shadowing and color reproduction tests I also tried to figure out the effects of LED lighting design on TV visuals where higher quality is crucial with the audience's increasing demands for quality image.

  • This study has carried out two steps. Firstly, the questionnaire was carried out in order to extract visual interference factors in the TV learning spaces. Secondly, on the basis of the questionnaire, it has been carried out two experiments in the TV learning space. In the experiment I, the preferable luminance of the characters and the preferable luminance ratios between the characters and backgrounds on the TV screen are extracted. In the experiment II, the preferable luminance distributions on the TV screen and its surrounding surfaces is found out. The data made in this study is expected to utilize in the lighting design on the TV learning spaces as guides.

  • Nowadays the soccer becomes one of the best spot lighting sports in the world Especially the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup was deeply impressed on all the korean. One goal of illuminating engineering should be the design of lighting system that can provide consistently high task visibility regardless of where a task might be located within a working space. The television broadcasting on the soccer has been an important role in the media. The standard of FIFA(The Federation Internationale do Football Association) requires recommended illuminance levels for artificial lighting for a player, an audience, TV broadcasting, as well as everybody in the stadium. This paper has proposed an algerian to select the suboptimal lighting tower position for watching and TV broadcasting a soccer game within a pleasant environment and an optimum illuminance distribution. The position using the software Philip's Calculux was chosen based an the calculations of a horizontal illuminance, vertical illuminance, uniformity, glare, and so on by changing lighting tower positions.

  • Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have already been commercialized for the mobile-phone display, TV, and lighting panels. Even though the OLED display for the mobile phones is now considered as the main stream display for the application, the OLED TV and lighting panels are having difficulty in their market due to their high prices despite the better performance to the competitors. In recent years, roll-to-roll production of the OLED has begun to be examined, and this method is opening a way to solve the high price problem. In this article, we introduce several important processes for roll-to-roll production of OLED and explain the development status to date.

  • This study investigated current status of lighting environment, residents' awareness of lighting and lighting use according to behavior in the living room of apartment to determine current lighting trends and their related problems. The living rooms of newly-built apartment units(133~165[$m^2$] and larger than 166[$m^2$] within the past five years) were examined. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Resident satisfaction with current living room lighting was the highest in 'illumination' and the lowest was 'energy savings' regardless of the size of living room. 2. This kind of ceiling lighting layout, 133~165[$m^2$] unit used central lighting and larger than 166[$m^2$] units used central lighting and cove lighting. Regarding light sources, 133~165[$m^2$] linear FL, halogen, larger than 166[$m^2$] bulb-type FL are widely used. LED are now being found in the living room corridor and kitchen walls of newly-built apartment houses. 3. Watching TV and reading books were commonly behaved in the living room. Conversations between family, having desserts, resting, housekeeping, and entertaining were usually done weekdays, while having desserts and conversations between family were done weekends. Use of lighting as main behaviors is properly and differently required due to the distinct uses of lighting as residents' behaviors or their life style.

  • In the 2000s, digital HDTV which is sensitive for color temperature and illumination in videos has witnessed many changes to lighting techniques and the next-generation UHDTV will see its resolution being improved up to as 16 times as that of existing high-definition TV. As a result, visible effects by lighting is expected to work more importantly for viewers. When color temperature conversion filters are used for current broadcasting production, the intensity of illumination and luminance can be lowered as well as people's skin tone can be distorted. For this reason, high-quality images are materialized by analyzing the correlation between color temperature, illumination and luminance.
