인터넷 사용의 일반화로 검색 활동은 현대인들의 지적 호기심을 충족하는 방법들 중 가장 기본적이고 필수적인 자리를 차지하고 있다. 하지만 검색 활동을 지원하는 검색 서비스는 주로 PC 기반 인터넷 환경에서 제공되어 왔으며 거실 문화를 대표하고 있는 TV 환경에서는 검색 서비스 제공이 거의 전무한 상태이다. 특히, 리모컨의 기능적 제약과 방송 프로그램 시청의 몰입 상태를 단절하지 말아야 한다는 TV 시청 행태를 충분히 이해하고 반영한 TV상의 검색 서비스는 아직 존재하지 않고 있다. 이 에, 본 논문은 일반 TV 시청 행태에 가장 핵심이 되는 요소들을 정의하고 이들을 방해하지 않고 검색 활동을 즐길 수 있는 새로운 개념의 TV상 검색 서비스를 소개한다.

The DTV (Digital TV) tuner for an 8-VSB (Vestigial Side-Band) modulation was developed to meet the requirements of the ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee). The double frequency conversion and the active tracking filter in the front-end were used to cancel interferences between adjacent channels and multi-channels by suppressing the IF beat and the Image frequency. However, It was impossible to get frequency mapping between the tracking filter and the first VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) in the existing DTV tuner structure which differs from the NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) tuner. This paper, therefore, suggests an assailable structure and a new method for the automatic frequency selection by mapping the frequency characteristics over the tracking voltage and the combined HW which is composed of a Micro-controller, an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter), an OP amplifier, and a switch driver.

This paper considers the design of robust stabilizing controller of a linear time-invariant digital system subject to variations of parameter vector. For a given controller the radius of the largest stability hypersphere in this parameter space is calculated. This radius is a measure of the stability Margin of the closed-loop system. Based on this calculation a design procedure is proposed to robustify a given stabilizing controller. This algorithm iteratively enlarges the stability hypersphere in parameter space and can be used to design a controller to stabilize a plant subject to given ranges of parameter perturbations. These results are illustrated by an example.

본 연구에서는 복잡한 기능을 가진 A/V기기 리모컨의 사용성을 저해하는 요인은 무엇인가 파악하고, 이를 개선하기 위한 사용성 결정 인자를 설정하여 사용성 비교 실험을 수행하고, 개선안을 제시, 이 개선안이 기존의 안에 비하여 우월하다는 점을 증명하고자 한다. 리모컨의 사용성 저해 요인을 파악하기 위하여 40여종의 각종 A/V관련 제품의 리모컨을 조사 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 사용성에 영향을 미치는 인자를 추출해 내고, 차기 버전의 플레이앳티비$(Play@TV^{TM})$용 리모컨을 선정하는데 이 인자를 만족하는 3개의 안을 도출해냈다. 기존의 리모컨과 새롭게 제시하는 3개의 리모컨 안에 대하여 사용성 테스트를 수행하여, 정성적, 정량적 분석을 하였다. 분석 결과 개선안 B가, 동일한 과제를 수행하는데 기존 리모컨에 비하여 9.2% 시간이 덜 걸리는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 본 연구에서 제시하는 리모컨 사용성의 결정인자, 즉, 기능수용성, 촉각적 단서의 제공, 적절한 크기와 무게, 주요 키의 배치 방법, 관련 기능의 그룹핑 등이 제품의 사용성을 개선하는데 유효함을 보이는 것이라 하겠다.

The key issues in high power, high energy applications such as electromagnetic launchers include safety, reliability, flexibility, efficiency, compactness, and cost. To explore some of the issues, a control scheme for a large current wave-forming was designed, built and experimentally verified using a 2.4MJ pulse power system (PPS). The PPS was made up of eight capacitors bank unit, each containing six capacitors connected in parallel. Therefore there were 48 capacitors in total, with ratings of 22kV and 50kJ each. Each unit is charged through a charging switch that is operated by air pressure. For discharging each unit has a triggered vacuum switch (TVS) with ratings of 200kA and 250kV. Hence, flexibility of a large current wave-forming can be obtained by controlling the charging voltage and the discharging times. The whole control system includes a personal computer(PC), RS232 and RS485 pseudo converter, electric/optical signal converters and eight 80C196KC micro-controller based capacitor-bank module(CBM) controllers. Hence, the PC based controller can set the capacitor charging voltages and the TVS trigger timings of each CBM controller for the current wave-forming. It also monitors and records the system status data. We illustrated that our control scheme was able to generate the large current pulse flexibly and safely by experiments. The our control scheme minimize the use of optical cables without reducing EMI noise immunity and reliability, this is resulting in cost reduction. Also, the reliability was increased by isolating ground doubly, it reduced drastically the interference of the large voltage pulse induced by the large current pulse. This paper contains the complete control scheme and details of each subsystem unit.

현재 VOD 의 구현 방식은 PC기반을 이용하여 구현되고 있는데 이 VOD를 PC기반이 아닌 Embedded System으로 구현하는 연구를 수행하였다. 이 시스템의 OS는 WindowsCE.net을 이용하였으며, x86코어를 내장한 Sc1200(National사의 Geode제품군)을 CPU로 사용하였고, 메모리는 128 MByte SDRAM을 사용하였다. 그 외에 영상 데이터의 처리를 위하여 Mpeg Decoder를 사용하였고, Internet 망을 이용하기 위한 Ethernet Controller를 이용하였다. 그리고 소프트웨어를 저장하기 위한 저장메모리가 3가지 가 있는데, BIOS를 위한 Boot ROM과 WindowsCE Kernel을 저장하고 있는 Flash Memory, 그리고 나머지 기타 환경을 저장하기위한 Disk On Chip이 3가지가 저장메모리이다. 이 시스템의 영상출력부는 컴포지트(Composite), 컴포넌트(Com ponent), S-Video가 있으며 이들 중 1가지를 선택하여 TV에 연결하여 동작 되도록 하였다. 실제 구현은 시스템 개발에 필요한 BIOS, WinodwsCE.net Porting, DeviceDriver와 동작 확인에 필요한 간단한 Application 제작하였으며, 영상 Play는 WindowsCE.net에 포함되어있는 Window Media Player를 이용하였다. 따라서, 본 논문은 현재 PC에서 구현되고 있는 VOD 서비스의 단점들인 불필요한 마우스와 키보드 조작, PC와 TV의 연결 시 해상도 호환 문제등 을 보완하고자 Embedded System의 형태로 바꾸어 손쉽게 TV와 연결하여 사용할 수 있도록 구현하는데 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

This paper proposes an efficient data compression for the conventional method of reducing EMI in a 10 bit LCD timing controller (TCON). In addition, we develop a new method to reduce EMI in a LCD TCON through repeated data on adjacent blocks. The novel technique reduced EMI by 10 dB for a 52" FHD 10it LCD TV.

The most important parameter for TV application of LCD is a fast switching time for the display of moving image. To achieve faster switching time, the novel LC single materials with large dielectric anisotropies ($16{\sim}20$), high clearing temperatures ($195.5{\sim}237.4^{\circ}C$), broad nematic ranges (up to 169.9 $^{\circ}C$) and high birefringence ($0.254{\sim}0.2200$) were developed. KUR-series LC mixtures blended these single materials having significantly higher clearing temperatures and dielectric anisotropy values compared with conventional LC mixture. Especially, their clearing temperatures are $10{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ higher than their host mixture. These LC mixtures showing about lOms of high-speed switching time in Tv/Monitor of TFT LCD, is short enough to be addressed in a single time frame of 60Hz (16.7 ms). The threshold voltage $V_{th}$ was low enough to operate at a driving voltage of 5 V. The VHR values were found to be high enough for TFT-LCD in wide temperature range. Our novel LC mixtures are suitable materials for the inclusion in to LC mixtures for TV application of TN-LCD

8-VSB(Vestigial Side-Band) 변조 기술을 이용하여 ATSC(Advanced Television Systems Committee) 규격을 만족하는 디지털 TV 튜너를 개발하였다. 이중(double)주파수 변환 및 능동 트래킹 여파기를 튜너 전치단에 이용하여 이미지 응답 및 IF(Intermediate Frequency)Beat 성분들의 억압, 인접 채널과 다채널 수신 시 상호 간섭배제 성능을 만족할 수 있도록 이용하였다. 그러나 NTSC(National Television Systems Committee) 튜너와는 달리, 이중 주파수 변환을 이용하는 디지털 TV 튜너는 트래킹 필터 및 첫 번째 전압제어발진기 사이의 주파수 상관 관계가 존재하지 않는다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 마이크로 콘트롤러, EEPROM(Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), 디지털/아날로그 변환기, 차동 증폭기 및 스위치 드라이버가 조합된 하드웨어 및 트래킹 전압에 따른 주파수 특성에 대한 주파수 매핑을 구하여 자동 주파수 선택이 가능한 변형된 구조 및 방법을 제시하였다.
