  • This paper considers the many kinds of attitude control systems including launcher. JVC(Jet vane control), Jet tap, Jetvator and Movable nozzles are used to control the initial attitude of a missile only. Recently side jet thruster and it's applications to control initial turn and to maneuver at high altitude have been increased. How to design and develop the missile for an initial turn and a high maneuver at high altitude using side jet thrust were described in this paper.

  • In this thesis, based on Genetic Algorithm, a new route search algorithm is presented to search an optimal route between the origin and the destination in intelligent route guidance systems in order to minimize the route traveling time. The proposed algorithm is effectively employed to complex road networks which have diverse turn constrains, time-delay constraints due to cross signals, and stochastic traffic volume. The algorithm is also shown to significantly promote search efficiency by changing the population size of path individuals that exist in each generation through the concept of age and lifetime to each path individual. A virtual road-traffic network with various turn constraints and traffic volume is simulated, where the suggested algorithm promptly produces not only an optimal route to minimize the route cost but also the estimated travel time for any pair of the origin and the destination, while effectively avoiding turn constraints and traffic jam.

  • It is difficult to find the shortest paths using existing algorithms (Dijkstra, Floyd-Warshall algorithm, and etc) in high complex and large size real traffic networks The objective of this paper is to develop an evolution program to find the multiple shortest paths within reasonable time in these networks including turn-restrictions, U-turns, and etc.

  • The permanent magnet synchronous motor has high efficiency driving performance and high power density output characteristics compared with other motors. In addition, it has good regenerative operation characteristics during braking and deceleration driving condition. For this reason, permanent magnet synchronous motor is generally applied as a power train motor for electrical vehicle. In permanent magnet synchronous motor, the most probable causes of fault are demagnetization of rotor's permanent magnet and short of stator winding turn. Therefore, the demagnetization fault of permanent magnet and turn fault of stator winding should be detected quickly to reduce the risk of accident and to prevent the progress of breakdown of power train system. In this paper, the fault diagnosis method using high frequency low voltage injection was suggested to diagnose the demagnetization fault of rotor permanent magnet and the turn fault of stator winding. The proposed fault diagnosis method can be used to check the faults of permanent magnet synchronous motor during system check-up process at vehicle starting and idling stop mode. The feasibility and usefulness of the proposed method were verified by the finite element analysis.

  • This paper presents a mathematical vehicle model to analyze the dynamic characteristics of a vehicle undergoing braking in a turn. Two kinds of field tests, braking in a steady state turn and braking in a J-turn are performed. Computer simulation results are compared with test results and the braking effect on a vehicle cornering behavior is examined. Also, sensitivity analysis is applied to determine the effect of design parameter changes on the response of vehicle dynamic system.

  • CST(C-shape sharp turn) represented the motion whereby fish bend their tail quickly in a C-shape to achieve an emergent changing of its swimming direction on fish swimming. But there is not yet the general motion trajectory functions related to CST. In this paper, we proposed the very simple motion functions related to CST sequence recorded from a real fish by biologists. Through the computer simulations, we confirmed the usefulness of the proposed function.

  • This paper proposed a soft switching boost converter with an auxiliary circuit, and a modified control method for reduction of switch stress. The proposed converter applies an auxiliary circuit, which is added to the conventional boost converter and used to achieve soft switching for both a main switch and an auxiliary switch. The auxiliary circuit consist of a resonant inductor and two capacitors, an auxiliary switch. The main switch is operated ZVS turn-on, turn-off also auxiliary switch is operated ZCS turn-on, ZVS turn-off. The proposed soft switching boost converter has lower switch loss and higher efficiency than conventional soft switching boost converter.

  • A model of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with an inter turn short fault is proposed using a deformed flux model. The deformed flux model includes not only the fault winding flux information but also the inductance variation of the healthy winding considering the configuration of the winding distribution. With the deformed flux model and the positive sequence current assumption, the proposed model is derived in the positive and negative sequence synchronous reference frame (SRF). The finite elements method (FEM) simulation is applied to validate the proposed PMSM model with inter turn short fault.

  • This paper reviews both network representation schemes of transportation network and algorithms for findings the shortest path between two points in the network. Two types of network representation schmes for considering U-Turn have been proposed along with some modifications of the vine-based Dijkstra shoretest path algorithm. The traditional Sioux-Fall network has been chosen and modified with the introduction of left-turn prohibitions and U-Turns for the purpose of evaluating the peroformance of two modified algorithms and network representation schemes(NA1 an d NA2 ). This type of modification in both network representation scheme (including network data) and algorithms is not only supposed to be needed for route guidance but supposed to contribute to finding more realistic path and estimating more accurate traffic voulume thorughout the entire network.

  • The EMG amplitude estimator, which has been investigated as an indicator of muscle force, is of high relevance not only in biomechanical studies but also more and more in clinical applications. This paper presents a new approach to estimate surface EMG amplitude by using the mean spike and mean turn amplitude(MSA and MTA) variables. Surface EMG signals, a total of 198 signals, were recorded from biceps brachii muscle over the range of 20-80%MVC isometric contraction and performance of the MSA and MTA variables applied to amplitude estimation of the EMG signals were investigated. To examine the performance, a SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) was computed from each amplitude estimate. The results of the study indicate that MSA and MTA amplitude estimations with first order whitening filter and 300[ms]-350[ms] moving average window length are optimal and show better performance(mean SNR improvement of 6%-15%) than the most frequently used variables(ARV and RMS).
