A Case of Strong Palm Compression-Induced Thenar Motor Neuropathy (강한 손바닥 압박 후 속발된 엄지두덩운동신경병증 1예)

  • Thenar motor neuropathy (TMN) is a compressive mononeuropathy of recurrent motor branch of median nerve. It is infrequent and may have different pathogenesis. It may be a unique entity of disease or considered a variant of carpal tunnel syndrome involving the motor branch only. We report a case of TMN induced by vigorous massage that applied strong digital pressure in the region of the base of palm and thenar muscles.

  • The CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol) and SNMP(Simple Network Management Network) are the two major network management protocols, Which nee to be integrated. Since the networks need to be managed in a uniform way, the CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) NE View is to develop as a Standard in the ATM Forum For the TMN management structure to integrate these two protocols. In this paper, the function classes are defined to develop the gateway for efficient subnetwork management. The function classes are defined based on the analysis of EMS functions which are mainly network management design of the TMN structure. Also, the object models of the SMI)(Structure of Management Information) in SNMP and the GDMO(Guidelines for the Definition of Managed Objects) in CMIP are developed way direct translation and abstract translation. The integrated management system design, information model translation of EMS using classdefinition, is efficient is efficient method to interconnect CORBA/SNMP and CORBA/CMIP.

  • 대용량 통신처리 시스템은 전화망, 패킷망 및 ISDN 망 둥 다양한 통신망으로부터 접속하는 사용자들에게 text 기반의 서비스 및 인터넷 서비스의 제공을 목표로 한다. 대용량통신처리시스템은 전화망, 패킷망 및 ISDN 망을 access 망으로 하고, 패킷망 및 Internet을 전달망으로 하여 다양한 서비스를 제공하는 구조를 갖는다. 대용량통신처리시스템은 제공하는 서비스들에 대하여 access 망에 대한 과금 및 전달망에 대한 과금 데이터를 제공하여 정확한 과금이 부과될 수 있는 기본 데이터를 제공한다. 대용량통신처리시스템은 이러한 망을 access하는 망접속 서브시스템들로 구성되는데 본 논문에서는 각 망접속 서브시스템들 및 구성요소들의 관리를 전담하는 LOMS(Local Operations and Management System)의 소프트웨어 구성 및 관리절차에 대하여 기술한다.

  • 기존 망관리구조와 달리 차세대 망관리에서 요구되는 새로운 개념으로는 QoS관리, 망관리 분산화가 고려된다. 이에 핵심적 차세대 망관리구조의 핵심요소는 SLM(Service Level Management), TMN(Telecommunication Management Network)이다. 선진국을 중심으로 TMN 관리표준 업무처리 절차를 수립하여 이를 시스템화하여 솔루션으로 공급하고 있으나, 국내실정에 적합하지 않으며, 특히 전력분야에 적합한 전력통신망 통합관리를 위한 체계적인 표준 업무처리전차에 대한 개발이 필요한 실정이다. 전력 산업분야의 전력통신망 통합관리를 위한 표준절차의 부재로 기존 투자된 시스템의 효율성을 향상함에 있어 어려움을 가지고 있을 뿐 아니라 향후에 확장 도입되는 Management 솔루션에 있어서 불필요한 중복투자 가능성이 상존하고 있으므로 체계적이며 표준화돤 관리체계의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 전력통신 설비별로 운용중인 다수의 NMS 통합 및 유지관리용 전산설비와의 유기적인 결합을 통한 최적의 전력통신 망 종합관리체계 구축방안을 제시하기 위해 전력연구원에서 수행하고 있는 연구과제와 관련하여 차세대 전력통신망 관리방안에 대해 기술하였다.

The Design of DWT Quantizer to Improve the H.263 (H-263 성능 개선을 위한 DWT 양자화기 설계)

  • TMN5 used to test the performance of H.263 is a DCT-based H.263 which DCT is used as transform coding, but DWT is used instead of DCT and adaptive quantizer of being appropriate to DWT is designed in this paper while the structure of TMN5 is maintained. DWT-based H.263, which is proposed in this paper, is excellent in transplantation of the existing system and can improve frame rate by transmitting more Frame. Also, the average PSNR, objective quality of image, has been lost at degree of average 0.35㏈ in luminance signals, but has been improved over a average of 2㏈ in chrominance signals. Subjective quality of image has been improved as blocking effect, which has seriously occurred in DCT based H.263, is diminished. DWT-based H.263 can. therefore. advance video quality of image comparing with the existing ways.

  • According to the spread of Asynchronous Tranfer Mode(ATM) Networks Telecommunication Management Network(TMN) over ATM Networks becomes an important issue. This paper presents with an Performance Analysis and the designs for comparing TCP/IP-Based Internet SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) and ITU-T's Distributed CMIP configuration. The experimental results shows that propose method is expected to be effectively used in Distributed Environments such as Internet, ATM. and mobile networks where interoperability and scalability are required.

  • By managing various communication networks collectively, Telecommunication Management Network (TMN) has appeared as a concept to aim for the unified and effective communication network operation and maintenance. IMT-2000 and other network such as PSTN, cellular networks and packet witching network that are integrated with IMT-2000 have been developed in different platforms - hardware and operating system, and a same circumstance will happen in the maintenance in the future. Also, it is difficult to approach to the standard for Q3 interface implementation of the agent in TMN system that may occur in the development or the maintenance for the different platform of IMT-2000 and other networks that are integrated with IMT-2000. In order to solve this kind of Problems, this Paper suggests integrated network management agent of IMT-2000 based on the NTS model and Advanced Intelligent Network(AIN).
