전기분해원리를 이용한 선박평형수관리장치의 배출수에 대한 해양생태독성 및 해양환경위해성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Marine Eco-toxicity and Ecological Risk of Treated Discharge Water from Ballast Water Management System Using Electrolysis)

  • 외래종의 유입을 막기 위해 '선박평형수와 침전물의 제어와 관리를 위한 국제협약'이 2004년에 체결되었고 이에 따라 다양한 선박평형수 관리장치가 개발되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전기분해를 이용하여 선박평형수 내 해양생물 제거를 위한 장치로 개발된 AquaStar$^{TM}$ BWMS가 해양생태계에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 1차 생산자로서 규조류 Skeletonema costatum, 1차 소비자로서 윤충류 Brachionus plicatilis 및 포식자로서 어류(넙치) Paralichtys olivaceus를 이용하여 AquaStar$^{TM}$ BWMS의 배출수독성시험과 생성된 화학물질에 대한 환경위해성 평가를 수행하였다. 배출수독성시험결과 가장 민감한 생물은 S. costatum이었고 염분 20 psu 배출수에 노출되었을 때 NOEC 25.00%, LOEC 50.00% 및 72hr-$EC_{50}$이 69.97%였다. B. plicatilis와 P. olivaceus는 염분 20 psu 배출수에 노출되었을 때 NOEC 및 LOEC가 각각 50.00 및 100.00%였다. AquaStarTM BWMS에서 생성된 물질은 총 18개로, bromate, 7개의 volatile halogenated organic compounds, 7개의 halogenated acetic acids, 3개의 halogenated acetonitriles 및 chloropicrin이었다. 생성된 물질들의 지속성과 생물축적성을 보이는 화학물질은 없었으나, 물질의 생태독성을 평가하기에는 불확실성이 높았다. 그러나 MAMPEC 모델을 이용하여 생성된 18개 물질의 PEC는 $4.58{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}4.87{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$였고, PNEC는 $0.016{\sim}320.00{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$였으며, 18개 화확물질의 PEC/PNEC 비율은 1을 초과하지 않았다. 따라서 환경위해성평가결과는 AquaStar$^{TM}$ BWMS에 의하여 처리된 해수가 해양생태계에 수용 불가한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 전기분해를 이용하는 BWMS의 배출수에 대한 S. costatum의 $EC_{50}$은 초기 TRO농도, HAAs의 농도 및 종류수와 양의 상관관계가 있었다.

Corrective Rhinoplasty with Combined Use of Autogenous Auricular Cartilage and Porcine Dermal Collagen in Cleft Lip Nose Deformity

  • Esthetic reconstruction of cleft lip nose deformity is a challenging task in surgical management of patients with orofacial cleft. The author reconstructed cleft lip nose deformity effectively using autogenous auricular cartilage and a relatively new graft material of porcine dermal collagen, $Permacol^{TM}$. After correction of the deformed lower third of the nose with patient's auricular cartilage, we applied $Permacol^{TM}$ to augment the entire nasal dorsum. Three patients were treated and followed for up to five years. All patients improved in nose aesthetics without any inflammatory or immunogenic reaction. The author suggests that the use of $Permacol^{TM}$ for nasal profile augmentation in the treatment of cleft lip nose deformity is an alternative surgical strategy with minimal surgical invasiveness. The author report long-term experience with combined use of auricular cartilage and $Permacol^{TM}$ in nasal reconstruction for cleft lip nose deformity.

마사지 시술 후 발생한 흉골골절 환자 증례보고 (Sternal Fracture occurred after Thai Massage : A Case Report)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety, injury mechanism, complication and adverse reactions associated with Chuna manual theraphy(CMT), to report one case of adverse reaction with Thai Massage(TM). Methods: A 76-year-old woman presented with chest pain and dorsalgia. The patient undertook a TM. The patient's chest pain didn't improve by Korean medecine. In MRI study, sternal fracture was diagnosed. Results and Conclusions : It is supposed that this patient suffered chest pain and dorsalgia due to a TM. From this case, we can understand the etiology of sternal fracture to some extent and consider the complication of Chuna manual theraphy through TM. In addition, This study raises the awareness of the possibility of a sternal fracture caused by a low-energy CMT technique.

  • $MTP^{TM}$는 고화질의 동화상 데이터를 효율적으로 전달하기 위하여 필요한 대역폭을 확보하는 반면에 정보검색에 사용되는 프로토콜 TCP/IP는 $MTP^{TM}$와 같이 고정적인 대역폭을 확보하지 않는다. 따라서 DBMS에서 관리되는 정보를 중심으로 검색하여 요구되는 동화상 데이터를 전달하는 VOD 서비스 시스템은 이종의 프로토콜을 동시에 제어해야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이종 프로토콜을 이용한 VODB 시스템을 제안한다.

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of configuration of cavity on the mechanical properties such as flexural strength and elastic modulus of resin composites. The materials used were $Clearfil^{TM}$ AP-X(Kuraray, Japan) and $Esthet-X^{TM}$(Dentsply, USA) as resin composite. Dentin-bonding systems used in the study were $Clearfil^{TM}$ SE Bond(Kuraray, Japan) and Prime & Bond $NT^{TM}$(Dentsply, USA). The specimens were prepared as 6 groups with 2 control groups and 4 experimental groups.(omitted)

  • Eumsung TM/TC system is composed of one control center, four reservoirs and twenty irrigation canal systems. In this paper we analyzed operation frequencies of the irrigation system to verify the effect of TM/TC system. Large facilities's operation frequency were more low then small thing and irrigation type was continuous irrigation. operation frequency was most high in may and june. usually water gate was operated once per 5-10 day. With these analysis we concluded that operators should operate irrigation facilities based on scientific technique and designer should make a proper choice in TM/TC system selection fit to the field.

  • An analysis method for the electromagnetic scattering of a Tm polarized plane wave from a periodic strip grating over a grounded dielectric slab is considered from the viewpoint of reflection grating problem. The parameters of strip gratings showing Bargg and Off-Bragg blazing phenomena at the frequency of 10GHz are derived teoretically. The strip grating structure is implemented using Aluminum plate(groung conductor), paraffin(dielectric material.epsilon.$_{r}$=2.24), and copper(strip conductor0.08m thickness). The experimental results(reflection power) of Bragg as well as Off-Bragg blazing phenomenon for TM polarized plane wave have been compared with the theoretical results and fairly good agreements between theory and experiment have been observed.d.

  • Reduction of (${\pm}$)-3-ketoproline ethyl ester (1) by $NaBH_4$ in the presence of $CaCl_2$ and $MgCl_2$ as the chelating agents gave selective products cis-3(R/S)-alcohols, while reduction by $NaBH_4$ alone or chelated with $NiCl_2$ and $AlBr_3$ gave mixtures of cis- and trans-alcohols. The reduction of (${\pm}$)-1 by various vegetables however, gave exclusively the cis-alcohol as the major and trans-alcohol as the minor. On the contrary, reduction of (${\pm}$)-1 by carrot afforded a mixture of cis- and trans-alcohols, in which the trans-alcohol exists as the major product. In addition, we found that this biocatalyst selectively converted S-enantiomer of (${\pm}$)-1 to the cis-alcohol, and R-enantiomer to a mixture of cis- and trans-alcohols with cis-alcohol as the major product. This fact prompted us to use various fresh plant tissues for stereoselective reduction of diverse types of pyrrolidinones, as its stereoselectivity towards racemic mixtures is higher compared to that using chemical reducing agents.

Association Between the XRCC3 T241M Polymorphism and Head and Neck Cancer Susceptibility: a Meta-analysis of Case-control Studies

  • Background: To evaluate the role of the X-ray repair cross complementing group 3 (XRCC3) T241M polymorphism in head and neck cancer susceptibility. Materials and Methods: We performed a meta-analysis of all available studies, which included 3,191 cases and 5,090 controls. Results: Overall, a significant risk effect of the T241M polymorphism was not found under homologous contrast (MM vs TT: OR=1.293, 95% CI=0.926-1.805; TM vs TT: OR=1.148 95% CI=0.930-1.418) and recessive models (MM vs TT+TM): OR=1.170, 95% CI=0.905-1.512, but a significantly increased risk was observed under a dominant model (MM+TM vs TT): OR=1.243, 95% CI=1.001-1.544. In stratified analyses, there were no significant associations for Asians or Caucasians. Conclusion: Our meta-analysis suggested the XRCC3 241M allele (MM+TM) might act as a head and neck cancer risk factor among all subjects, and the effect of T241M polymorphism on head and neck susceptibility should be studied with a larger, stratified population.
