Purpose - This study investigated competitive counteractions necessary for continuous growth in a rapidly changing logistics environment in Northeast Asia. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Using a time series analysis, the study first investigated Northeast Asian trade scale and volume by examining online and offline material from the Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries, Busan Port Authority, and other government agencies. A literature survey was done to investigate the state and prospect of the logistics environment in Northeast Asia including changes in freight volume at major ports in the three Northeast Asian countries. Result - The results of the study suggest using the Trans-Korean Railroad (TKR), as well as promoting the North Pole and South Pole routes, to compete against changes in trade volume and the logistics environment in Northeast Asia. A SWOT analysis was done to examine the effectiveness of these strategies. Conclusions - The findings indicate that the TKR impact, using the Busan Port connecting the Trans-China Railway (TCR), the Trans-Siberian (TSR), and the North Pole Route, may be uncertain in practice considering the uncertainty in international politics.

Objectives The objective of this study is to report the deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after total knee replacement (TKR) in a patient undergoing Korean medical rehabilitation. Methods A female patient who had total knee replacement (TKR) was treated by Korean medical rehabilitation with protocol. After fifteen days treatment, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) was suspected. Therefore, CT venography was performed. Results After Korean medical rehabilitation, pain was decreased. But also occurred deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as a complication. Conclusions We present a case of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after total knee replacement (TKR) in a patient undergoing Korean medical rehabilitation. There is a limit that this study hasn't sufficient number of cases. Further studies will be needed.

Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery is one of the invasive procedures for patients with late-stage knee joint disorders. In the present study, economic efficiency was compared between uses of the 2nd and 3rd generation cephalosporins for the prophylaxis before and after the surgery using frequency analysis in terms of various factors such as medication costs, the number of days of antibiotic use and hospitalization due to TKR surgery. The results showed that the 3rd generation cephalosporins did not reduce the infection rate and total medication costs, but rather raised antibiotic cost in comparison with the 2nd ones. A frequent use of the 3rd ones is closely related to emergence of resistant bacterial strains. Therefore, we suggest that unnecessary prescriptions for the broad spectrum antibiotics should be avoided.

우리는 이 세상을 네트워크사회라 한다. 로지스틱스는 사람과 물자와 정보를 연결하는 중요한 시스템의 하나다. 21세기 세계경제여건은 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 이런 변화는 여타지역 보다 동북아시아에서 더 현저하다. 중국·북한 러시아는 경제, 사회시스템을 변화시켰으며, 이는 아시아와 유럽간의 교역과 물량수요의 확대시켰다. TSR, TCR, TMR, TMGR, TKR과 같이 유라시아 대륙을 횡단하는 철도시스템은 국제 운송의 효율을 향상시키고 국제철도로 대륙을 연결하는 데 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 한반도를 둘러싼 물류환경을 조사 분석하였다. TSR, TCR(TMR, TMGR), TKR과 같은 대륙횡단철도와 관련하여 고려되고 해결되어야 할 운영여건과 과제를 조사하였다. 특히 중국, 러시아 북한의 물류현황과 문제점들을 조사하였다. 그리고 이들 철도들의 SWOT분석을 실시하고 비교하였다. 이 대륙간 철도들이 여러나라를 효과적으로 연결하고 합리적으로 운영하는 것과 관련하여 비전과 목표들을 제시하였다. 마땅히 고려되어야 할 정책과 전략/전술뿐만 아니라 당연히 채태되고 도입되어야 한다고 판단되는 많은 세부 대안들이 제시 되었다.

Purpose: This study examined the application of electric stimulation to the auricle acupoint (frequency 2 Hz, stimulation level: noxious) with 30 elderly people over 65 years that received treatment in a rural hospital to determine the influence of pain, gait and balance in the aged with knee joint disease. Methods: The subjects were divided into three groups; the degenerative joint diseases (DJD) group (1 male, 9 females), the total knee replacement (TKR) group (1 male, 9 females) and the control group (1 male, 9 females). Auricualr electrical stimulation (AES) was applied with low frequency, high intensity transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for 10 seconds per each point. Results: 1. For the change of pain according to AES, there was interaction in the resting period (p<0.001) and gait (p<0.001) and pain of the DJD group and TKR group was decreased. 2. The range of motion (ROM) of the knee joint showed a significant difference in interaction for each group of elderly people (p<0.001) and the ROM for the DJD group and TKR group of elderly people was increased. 3. In the analysis of gait speed changes, there was a significant difference in interaction for each group of elderly people (p<0.001) and for gait speed in the DJD group and TKR group of elderly people. 4. It was found in the change of static balance that there was a significant difference in interaction for each group of elderly people (p<0.01) and balance capacity in the DJD group and TKR group of elderly people was increased. Conclusion: The aged with knee joint disease have pain, and a decreased function of gait and balance. AES was an excellent treatment for control of pain, and an excellent treatment to enhanced joint functions. AES was useful for improving gait and balance due to decreased pain.

Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR) has been recently rising to the surface as the world important issue with Trans-Korea Railway (TKR). This can change transportation means from sea to railway and enhance Korean international position through the North-east Asian economic cooperaton with Russia. In particular, when 'Iron Silkroad' linking TKR is created, it can revitalize the underdeveloped East Russia and Far East's economies and Korean railway can play a key role as the North-east Asian logistics center and exerts a powerful influence on them. In addition, Korean railway expects to obtain economic benefits accruing to various value-added businesses such as IT, tourism, especially, transportation business from the East Siberia, the world largest reserves of energy to Korea. This study tries to find economic value analysis and guidelines on strategies of Korean railway with international logistics base built in Khassan (Vladivostok contiguity region) through the development of energy deposited around east of TSR.

This study was conducted to evaluated the effects adding continuous passive motion(CPM) each day to the entire postoperative program of patients who received a total knee replacement(TKR). A retrospective chart review was completed for 31 patients(12 with bilateral involvement, totaling 44 knees)who received a TKR between 1996 and 1998. The data analysis compared the following variables for 28 patients who received CPM and 16 patients who received no CPM: the length of hospital stay(LOS), the frequency of postoperative complications, the number of post-operative days(PODs) range of motion (ROM). The CPM Group showed significant decreases in the frequency of complication(p<0.05), the LOS(p < 0.05), and No difference was demonstrated in the ROM of the two groups. We concluded that CPM was an effective adjunct to physical therapy care of patients undergoing total knee replacement.

For years, Korea, China and Japan have been continuously increasing intra-trade. In addition, by concluding FTA (Free Trade Agreement) among Korea, Japan and China, the trade capacity will be increased. In this way, the increasing trade capacity will induce to change north-east Asian economy. This paper researches which method is more economical and efficient in the aspect of the transportation time and distance, after comparing the existing marine transportation network with new intermodal transportation network considering TKR.
