연도가스 열회수용 다관형 순환유동층 열교환기 성능실험 (Performance Test of a Multi-riser Fluidized Bed Heat Exchanger for Flue Gas Heat Recovery)

  • A lab-scale fluidized bed heat exchanger for waste gas heat recovery is devised and tested. Compared to our previous works on fluidized bed type system with a single riser, the present heat exchanger system is featured by its multiple (four) risers to handle increased amount of exhaust gas. Particles are introduced to the main hot gas stream alongside the pipe circumference near riser inlets. The heat exchanger performance and pressure drop are evaluated through experiments for the present gas-to-water heat exchanger system.

  • In general satellite verification process, the AOCS (Attitude & Orbit Control Subsystem) should be verified through several kinds of verification test which can be divided into two major category like FBT (Fixed Bed Test) and polarity test. And each test performed in different levels such as ETB (Electrical Test Bed) and satellite level. The test method of FBT is to simulate satellite dynamics with sensors and actuators supported by necessary environmental models in ETB level. The VDS (Vehicle Dynamic Simulator) try to make the real situation as possible as the on-board processor will undergo after launch. The purpose of FBT test is to verify that attitude control logic function and hardware interface is designed as expected with closed loop simulation. The VDS is one of major equipments for performing FBT and consists of software and hardware parts. The VDS operates in VME environments with target board, several commercial boards and custom boards based on the VxWorks real time operating system. In order to make time synchronization between VDS and satellite on-board processor, high reliable semaphore was implemented to make synchronization with the interrupt signal from on-board processor. In this paper, the real-time operating environment used on VDS equipment is introduced, and the hardware and software configurations of VDS summarized in the systematic point of view. Also, we try to figure out the operational concept of VDS and AOCS verification test method with close-loop simulation.

수소동위원소 저장 계량 장치 특성 연구 (Characteristics of a Hydrogen Isotope Storage and Accountancy System)

  • Global energy shortage problem is expected to increase driven by strong energy demand growth from developing countries. Nuclear fusion power offers the prospect of an almost infinite source of energy for future generations. Hydrogen isotope storage and delivery system is a important subsystem of a nuclear fusion fuel cycle. Metal hydride is a method of the high-density storage of hydrogen isotope. For the safety storage of hydrogen isotope, depleted uranium (DU) has been widely proposed. But DU needs a safe test because It is a radioactive substance. The authors studied a small-scale DU bed and a medium-scale DU bed for the safety test. And then we made a large-scale DU bed and stored hydrogen isotopes in the bed. Before the hydriding/dehydriding, we tested it's heating and cooling properties and carried out an activation procedure. As a result, Reaction rate of DU-$H_2$ is more rapid than the other metal hydride ZrCo. Through the successful storage result of our large bed, the development possibility of the hydrogen isotope storage technology seems promising.

고령자용 저상 요양침대의 설계 및 평가 (Design and Evaluation of a Low-floor Care-bed for Elderly People)

  • 기존의 가정용 요양침대는 매트리스 지지판(mattress support platform) 하부에 설치된 복잡한 기구부로 인해 저상화 실현이 어려웠다. 본 논문에서는 등판과 다리판의 각도를 조절하면서도 저상화가 가능한 요양침대의 구동 메커니즘을 제안한다. 등판과 다리판의 메커니즘은 듀얼 모터(dual motor)를 적용하고, 최적화 기법으로 설계변수를 결정하였다. 승강 메커니즘은 풀리(pulley)구조를 적용하여 제한된 구동기의 가동범위를 최대 두 배까지 높일 수 있도록 설계하였다. 건강한 5명의 피험자($24.4{\pm}0.5$세)가 방바닥에서 240mm의 저상 프로토타입 요양침대와, 600mm의 일반적인 높이의 침대에 올라갈 때의 그 이동 거리를 측정하여 저상화 침대에 대한 유효성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 저상 요양침대를 사용할 때의 이동 거리는 기존 높이의 침대에 비해 평균 38% 작았다. 이것은 저상요양침대가 고령자의 신체적 부담을 줄여주며, 일반침대보다 일상생활 지원에 효과적이라는 것을 보여주었다.

Experiments on Sedimentation of Particles in a Water Pool with Gas Inflow

  • During the late phase of severe accidents of light water reactors, a porous debris bed is expected to develop on the bottom of the flooded reactor cavity after breakup of the melt in water. The geometrical configuration, i.e., internal and external characteristics, of the debris bed is significant for the adequate assessment of the coolability of the relocated corium. The internal structure of a debris bed was investigated experimentally using the DAVINCI (Debris bed research Apparatus for Validation of the bubble-Induced Natural Convection effect Issue) test facility. Particle sedimentation under the influence of a two-phase natural convection flow due to the decay heat in the debris bed was simulated by dropping various sizes of particles into a water vessel with air bubble injection from the bottom. Settled particles were collected and sieved to obtain the particle mass, size distribution in the radial and axial positions, and the bed porosity and permeability. The experimental results showed that the center part of the particle bed tended to have larger particles than the peripheral area. For the axial distribution, the lower layer had a higher fraction of larger particles. As the sedimentation progressed, the size distribution in the upper layers can shift to larger sizes because of the higher vapor generation rate and stronger flow intensity.

섬유강화 복합재료의 인장강도 측정변수에 따른 영향 (Effect of Measuring Parameters of Tensile Strength of Fiber-reinforced Composite Materials)

  • 섬유강화 복합재료를 이용하여 다양한 제품을 개발하고 있다. 제품화를 위해서는 기본적으로 복합재료의 인장강도 평가를 진행해야 한다. ASTM D3039 규격을 기반으로 섬유강화 복합재료가 평가되는데, 인장시편에 대한 변수 및 평가 조건에 따른 변수가 섬유강화 복합재료의 인장강도에 변화를 유발시킨다. 본 연구에서는 섬유강화 복합재료의 인장강도를 평가하는 ASTM D3039 기준을 따라 실험을 하되 탭, 시편의 두께, 탭을 붙이기 위한 접착제의 종류, 지그의 압력에 따른 섬유강화 복합재료의 인장강도 결과의 변화를 확인하였다. 시편의 두께에 따라 인장강도 및 인장탄성률의 변화가 있었다. 시편의 두께는 1-1.5 mm이 최적이며, 지그의 압력은 0.28 MPa, 탭을 붙이는 접착제는 접착력이 가장 우수한 구조용 접착제를 사용하는 것이 효과적이었다. 다양한 실험적 변수로 인해 오류를 일으킬 수 있었다. 접착제 및 탭, 지그 등에 대한 정확한 설정을 통해 효과적인 복합재료 평가가 이루어지길 희망한다.

냉각프레임 설치 유무에 따른 스프링 침대 매트리스의 화재성상에 관한 연구 (Study on the Fire Behavior of Spring Bed Mattress with and Without a Cooling Frame)

  • 스프링 침대 매트리스의 화재안전성을 향상시키기 위한 방안으로 냉각재료(물)을 포함한 냉각프레임을 제작하여 침대 매트리스 아래 또는 침대 매트리스와 침대 매트리스 받침대 사이부분에 냉각프레임을 설치하여 냉각프레임 설치 유무에 따른 실물규모 화재시험을 실시하였다. 시험 초기(약 3분)에는 비슷한 화재성상을 보이나 이후에는 냉각프레임이 없는 경우는 급격한 화재성장이 확인 되었으며, 냉각프레임이 있는 경우는 성장되지 않고 쇠퇴가 진행되었다. 침대 매트리스 상단표면에서의 화염전파는 반원방향으로 유사하게 진행되었으며, 평균 화염전파속도는 약 0.005 m/s 분석되었다. 최대화염높이는 냉각프레임이 없는 경우 약 2.7 m, 냉각프레임이 설치된 경우 약 1.8 m로 분석되었다. 또한 최대열방출율(Heat release rate)은 냉각프레임이 없는 경우는 약 740 kW, 냉각프레임이 설치된 경우는 약 400 kW 측정되었다. 결과적으로 냉각프레임 설치를 통해 침대 매트리스 화재시 화염높이 및 열방출율이 저감되는 것으로 확인되었다.

온수배관을 이용한 시설딸기 부분난방기술 개발 (Spot Heating Technology Development for Strawberry Cultivated in a Greenhouse by Using Hot Water Pipe)

  • The effects of spot heating for growing the strawberry cultivated in a plastic greenhouse during the winter that were estimated in Nonsan strawberry experiment station located in Chungnam. The temperature of water for heating was controlled by a electric hot water boiler and kept at the range of $22{\sim}24^{\circ}C$. Heating pipes were set up in root zone for root zone heating and very close to crown for crown heating. Spot heating effects were estimated by applying spot heating system in three test factors of heating root zone, crown only and crown plus root zone. The material for crown heating pipe was white low density polyethylene and the nominal diameter of that pipe was 16 mm. The material for root zone heating pipe was flexible stainless steel and the nominal diameter of that pipe was 15A. The flow rate of heating water circulation was 480 L/h and water circulation lasted for all day long. Temperatures, harvest yield by test beds were surveyed from Nov. 10, 2013 to Apr. 29, 2014. The temperature of crown spot for crown heating bed was at the range of $13.0{\sim}17.0^{\circ}C$ during the night and that of crown spot in control bed was at the range of $8.0{\sim}14.0^{\circ}C$. Also, the temperature of root zone for root zone heating bed was at the range of $18{\sim}21.0^{\circ}C$ and that of root zone in control bed was at the range of $13.0{\sim}15.0^{\circ}C$. The cumulative yield growth rate in earlier harvest period (from Dec. 20 to Mar. 15) of crown heating bed was 43% compared with that of control bed and the cumulative yield of crown plus root zone heating bed was 39 % and that of root zone heating bed was 39 %.

중형 공진주 시험기를 이용한 보조도상 재료의 동적특성 정량화 (Evaluation of Dynamic Properties of Subballast Materials Used in Korea Using Midsize Resonant Column Test Apparatus)

  • It is an well-known fact that dynamic properties should be considered in design and maintenance of civil structures undergoing dynamic force such as rail track. For designing of the rail tack structures, dynamic properties of track bed soil such as shear modulus (G) and damping coefficients(D) obtained in small to medium range of shear strain must be known. In general, small size sample of D=5 cm and H=10cm has been used mostly for test convenience. However, ratio of largest particle diameter of the soil to sample diameter is very important and affects to the values of dynamic soil properties in track bed. In this study, an RC/TS test apparatus was built and was run for testing a medium size soil sample that can handle with compacted soil sample up to 10 cm diameter and 20 cm height.

  • Recently, the reliability evaluation and analysis are applied for many industrial products, and many products are required to guarantee in quality and in efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to present some of reliability evaluation methodologies that are applicable to machine tools. Especially ATC(Automatic Too Changer), which is core component of line center, was chosen as the target of the reliability evaluation and analysis. The scope of research is reliability prediction, reliability test and evaluates their results. The results of this research has shown the failure rate, MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure), reliability for those components and real tests reliability through constructed reliability test-bed. It is expected that proposed methodologies will increase reliability for high speed line center.
