In this paper, an integrated monitoring system is implemented for industrial equipments which use different types of network protocols to communicate with other equipments. Dedicated gateway systems mate it difficult to modify or to add contents of network systems for communication with other systems. We suggest an integration method of effectively utilizing the general purpose gateway system (ETOS-l00A) which converts various types of protocols into TCP/IP protocol. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed integrated monitoring system, PLC-based automated inspection system is considered and the monitoring system is implemented using Visual Basic and HMI software.

This paper deals with the real-time monitoring and control system using PC, PDA(Win CE embedded device) and PCS(based BREW platform). The camera attached to the server captures the moving target, and the captured frame of color image is encoded in JPEG for image compression at the server. The client(PC, PDA, PCS) receives the image data from the remote server and the received image is decoded from decompression. We use the TCP/IP protocol to send the image frames. The client can control the position of the camera by sending the control command to the server. Two DC servo motors for the camera are controlled in any directions, up-down and left-right, by the controller which is communicating with the server via the serial communication to get the control command. In this way, on the client we can monitor the moving images at the server and also control the position of the camera.

The internet SCSI(iSCSI) disk has been studied as a storage system which can be directly connected to TCP/IP network. We designed and implemented a shared disk following the iSCSI protocol and providing cache consistency. It is named as intelligent iSCSI(i$^2$SCSI) disk. The i$^2$SCSI disk provides cache consistency of all blocks that belong to the disk using a conventional lease method and it uses 'contiguous blocks-level locking' The prototype of the i$^2$SCSI disk emulator and its client is designed and implemented in Linux 2.4.

This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by PDA(personal digital assistance). So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by PDA. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. The information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

The interactive bicycle simulator presented in this paper consists of a Stewart platform manipulator, magneto-rheological steering and braking devices, and a visual simulator. To provide a rider with reality, these devices should be controlled in real-time and motions of the devices and the visual should be also synchronized. If any of the devices and the visual gets unsynchronized due to significant blocking of control signals, the reality of the simulator is no longer secured. This paper presents communication protocols that minimize the blocked time of the control processes to guarantee the synchronization. The protocols are designed based on IPC (InterProcess Communications) of QNX, TCP/IP, and serial communication. The performance of the designed communication protocols is evaluated with the implemented bicycle simulator, and found satisfactory.

WAP은 WAP Forum에서 제정한 무선 환경에서의 데이터 통신을 위한 표준 프로토콜이다. WAP에서는 보안 통신을 위한 프로토콜로서 WTLS(Wireless Transport Layer Security)를 제안하고 있다. 이것은 TCP/IP 상의 TLS(Transport Layer Security)를 바탕으로 무선 환경에 맞게 최적화한 것이다. 그러나, WAP은 기본적으로 게이트웨이 모델에 따른 프로토콜이라는 점과 무선 구간에서의 전송 효율을 높이기 위한 인코딩 기능 때문에 게이트웨이에서 클라이언트와 서버 사이에 교환되는 정보가 노출되는 이른바 종단간의 보안 (End-to-End Security)문제가 존재한다. 이러한 이유로 유선에서와는 달리 안전한 종단간 보안을 제공하지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존 TLS와 WTLS를 합친 새로운 TLS(Transport Layer Security)-Plus 프로토콜을 제안하여 무선 환경에서 무선 단말기에 부담을 주지 않는 안전한 종단간 보안을 제공하려고 한다.

In this paper, we developed a network camera for CMOS camera module inspection. The design, implementation details including embedded linux porting and CPLD logics, and performance of network camera are described. The network camera consists of SoC(S3C4530A), CPLD and CMOS image sensor. In order to image data of CMOS image sensor we designed capture logics on CPLD by using VHDL program. Embedded Linux such as uClinux is performed on the network camera to utilize development environment and TCP/IP protocol specification. The application is based on socket communication between GUI on PC and Embedded Linux based network camera. When JPEG compression is applied, the transmission speed was improved enough for this system to be used for an alternative of expensive CCTV or remote monitoring system in a power plant and uninhabited places.

This paper suggests remote injection system and explains the design of the system and means of implementation. Remote injection system means a system delivering the precise injection prescribed to the patient in the ward through input into the remote server using TCP/IP protocol. The system has been planned in detail. The syringe has been designed to be linked with the Ringer's rubber tube and the independently developed syringe-module is to be used in order to ensure precise and accurate delivery of the injected medication. In development stage of embedded software, object-oriented planning method has been chosen.

모바일에서의 영상전송의 문제점은 전송속도와 제어이다. 영상을 전송하기 위해서는 압축기법이 필요한데 압축을 위해서 H.263 코덱을 사용하였으며, 원격지에서 카메라를 효율적으로 제어하고, 실시간 접속 사용자 수를 증가시켰다. 본 연구에서는 통해 기존의 RF를 이용한 영상 전송시의 거리 제한 문제를 해결하였고, 최적의 영상과 오디오를 전송할 수 있었다.

DOS (Denial Of Service)에 대한 공격은 시스템의 정상적인 동작을 방해하여 시스템 사용자에 대한 서비스 제공을 거부하도록 만드는 공격으로 현재 이의 공격에 대한 탐지 알고리즘 및 연구들이 많이 제시되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 또는 트랜스포트 계층에 해당하는 프로토콜(TCP/IP, ICMP, UDP) 공격을 분석하고 이들 프로토콜의 취약점을 공격하는 DOS 공격 이외의 다른 공격을 탐지하기 위하여 프로토콜의 기능별, 계층별에 따른 모듈화 작업을 통하여 네트워크 침입탐지 시스템을 구성하였다.
