The Study on Field Test of the New Formulated and Commercial Diesel Engine Oils (제조 디젤엔진 오일과 상업용 디젤엔진 오일의 실차시험 연구)

  • A diesel engine oil formulated in KRICT and a commercial diesel engine oil (API CG-4) were tested by car and their Kinematic Viscosity, TAN, TBN, metal content, additive depletion, anti-wear property and IR analysis were analyzed. From the research, both of the tested oils had almost the same properties f3r the change of TAN and TBN, but the change of Kinematic Viscosity of formulated oil was slightly higher than that of commercial oil. The iron content in the commercial oil increased rapidly from 7000 km while that of the formulated oil was still low. These results were confirmed by the anti-wear test with a 4-ball wear test machine for the each samples. Also, for the commercial oil, the depletion factor of the Zn-DTP which was added as an anti-wear property did not change any more after 7000 km. But, that of the formulated oil changed continuously to 8000 km, which means that the ability to prevent wear of the sliding pairs exists for the formulated oil. From the analysis results of oil properties obtained by field test, it was found that the commercial oil could be used only within 7000 km, but the formulated oil could be used more than 8000 km without severe wear of the sliding parts in the diesel engine.

Relative Genetic Effects of Duroc and Taoyuan Breeds on the Economic Traits of Their Hybrids

  • For determining the relative genetic effects of Duroc (D) and Taoyuan (T) breeds on the economic traits of their hybrids, 72 litters of pigs, from four mating types, namely TT (T♂$\times$T♀), DD (D♂$\times$D♀) and D-T hybrids (TD, T♂$\times$D♀ and DT, D♂$\times$T♀) were used in this study. The various crossbreeding parameters were estimated by comparisons among mating types using linear contrasts of least-square analysis. The results of reproductive traits analysis showed that T breed had contributed superior genetic effects on the total number of piglets at birth (TBN) (p<0.10) and number of live piglets at 21 days (LP21) (p<0.05) to the D-T hybrids. Estimates of maternal genetic effects showed that the T females were superior in TBN (p<0.05), but inferior in average birth weight (ABW) and average litter birth weight (LBW) (p<0.01) to the D females. Direct heterosis effects were significant for LBW, LP21 and LWT21 (p<0.01). Least-squares analysis of other economic traits showed that T breed had relative negative effects on all growth traits, withers height (WH), body type index (BTI), average backfat thickness (ABF), carcass length (LENG), loin eye area (longissimus) (LEARA), and lean percentage (LEAN) of D-T hybrids (p<0.05). Estimates of direct genetic effects showed that the D breed was superior to the T breed in all growth and carcass traits except the average backfat (BF). Estimates of maternal genetic effects showed that average body weight at 180 days (WT180) of progenies from T sows were lighter than from D sows. Progenies from D females had larger and leaner carcass than those from T females. Direct heterosis effects were significant for average daily weight gains from 150 to 180 days ($ADG_{150-180}$) (p<0.05) and for average body weights at 150 (WT150), and 180 days (WT180), average daily weight gains from birth to 150 and 180 days ($ADG_{150}$ and $ADG_{180}$, respectively), WH, body length (BL), ABF, BTI, and LENG (p<0.01). The results showed that D-T hybrids tended to have superior TBN and LP21 than D breed, and to be superior in all growth and most conformation and carcass traits to the T breed.

  • During normal operation of 100% FP Reactor power(TBN/GEN output:690MWe), several times of acceleration phenomena has been generated on the turbine generator-of Wolsong #1 NPP. It was concluded that the acceleration occured following big sudden drop of the terminal voltage of main generator due to AVR potentiometer fault. The cause of turbine acceleration is reviewed with a several records and demonstrated by computer simulation, also presents a countermeasure of its trouble.

  • Advanced Pressurized Reactor 1400(APR-1400), which is a standard evolutionary advanced light water reactor(ALWR), has been developed from 1992 as one of long-term Government Project(G-7). The APR-1400 is designed to operate at the rated output of 4000MWt to produce an electric power output of around 1450MWe. The balance of plant (BOP) for the secondary system consists of main steam, feedwater, condensate, turbine generator and auxiliary system. In this paper, we describe the major design features of secondary component, balance of plant configuration, and then the turbine cycle thermal performance evaluation using PEPSE code.

Noise Source of Large Wind Turbine (대형 풍력발전기 소음원 분석)

  • Wind turbine noise become main environmental problem as wind energy have been installed all around. Noise from large wind turbine give annoyance to listener, moreover it increase loading to whole system by restricting blade tip speed. However accurate noise mechanism of wind turbine is not yet examined. This paper reviewed noise source and analysis theory. Broadband noise if main component of wind turbine noise and airfoil self noise is main noise source. These make acoustic analogy hard to apply for analysis. For this reason, experimental equation is method for wind turbine noise prediction up to now. Spectrum analysis shows that vortex shedding noise exists around $1k{\sim}2k$ Hz. This region is most sensitive frequency range to human. Thus it is necessary to reduce this noise source.

  • 본 연구에서는 두가지 엔진에 사용된 엔진오일의 성상변화를 측정하였다. 따라서 금속 마모입자 분석, 동점도 측정과 TAN 및 TBN 분석을 통한 물리적 성상과 화학적 성질 분석 그리고 적외선 분광 분석과 정량 폐로그라피 분석 등을 통하여 Table 1에 나타난 기준에 의해 오일의 수명을 판정하였다. 아울러 RPD를 이용하여 마모입자의 형상 등을 분석하고 엔진에서 발생하는 마모기구를 살펴보았다. 물론 본 연구는 주위 환경이 양호한 실험실에서 엔진 동력계에 의한 실험에 의존하였으므로 실제 주행실험 결과보다는 오일의 수명이 더 길게 나타날 것으로 예측된다. 더욱이 농경지에서 주로 사용되는 경운기의 경우는 오일이 먼지나 모래, 진흙 등에 의해 오손되기 쉬우므로 실제 오일의 수명은 훨씬 더 짧을 것으로 생각되므로 실차 주행실험 결과와의 비료는 앞으로 더 연구할 분야로 생각된다.

A Study of the Changes in Physical and Chemical Properities of Oil Used in Gasoline and LPG Engine (가솔린 LPG 엔진오일의 사용에 따른 물리적, 화학적 성질의 변화에 관한 연구)

  • This study is concerned with the change of physical and chemical properties of the used oil in gasoline and LPG engine. The used oils of engine were sampled from dynamometer and cars. The field tests of car were done in city and on highway. The properties of oil were TAN, TBN, visocity, oxidation, ZDTP depletion factor and etc. Also the relation between the chemical change and antiwear property was studied. From the study, it was shown that the decrease of antiwear property of used oil was depended on the changes of ZDTP depletion factor as well as TAN (total acid number). Also, it was found that the oil used by LPG car was deteriorated within the shortest distance among the other gasoline cars. The antiwear property of oil decreased as the running distance increased. The gasoline engine oil drove mainly on highway was the least deteriorate of properities for the same running distance.

가스터빈 고온부 정비기술

  • 가스터빈 발전은 연료를 연소하여 연소가스로 직접 터빈을 회전시켜 터빈에 연결된 발전기에 의해 발전하는 방식으로 연료로는 중유, 원유, 경유, 가스등을 사용한다. 주요설비는 공기압축기, 연소기, 터빈 및 발전기로 구성되며 이중 고온부는 연소기와 터빈이다. 가스터빈의 효율은 터빈입구온도(TIT : TBN INLET TEMP)에 의존하는데 현재까지 약 1,30$0^{\circ}C$ 급의 가스터빈이 운전중이며 앞으로 1,50$0^{\circ}C$ 급의 고효율 가스터빈에 도전하고 있으며 연소가스의 고온화는 고온부의 재료개발, 냉각기술, 코팅기법의 향상과 더불어 이루어질 수 있다. 가스터빈의 고온부 부품인 연소기, 터빈의 동익(Moving blade) 및 정익(Fixed blade) 재료로 초내열합금이 계속 개발중이며 또한 각 부품에 대한 공기냉각기술, 코팅재료 및 기법도 개발중이다. 그러나 현재 국내에서 가동중인 가스터빈은 빈번한 기동정지로 열 사이클에 의한 부품의 손상이 심각한 실정이므로 고효율 가스터빈 개발과 이에 대한 정비기술 개발이 병행하여야만 안정된 전기공급을 이룰 수 있다는 차원에서 가스터빈은 고온부품의 정비기술에 대한 그 현황과 전망에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
