  • Objectives: The purposes of this study were to investigate the life satisfaction, obesity, depression, self esteem, body image of adolescents by their demographic characteristics, to analyze factors impacting on life satisfaction, and to provide basic data to intervention programs for bright and healthy development. Methods: The data in this study came from the Korea Youth Survey Data collected through questionnaires from 10,156 students. To investigate the causal relationship between each variable presented in the research model, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis were carried out by using SPSS Ver. 18.0. Results: The most impacting factor on adolescents' life satisfaction were the self-esteem and depression, followed by the economic level, regular exercise, and regular eating. In conclusion, the strongest factors that influenced adolescents' life satisfaction were self-esteem and depression. Also we found that regular eating, regular exercise, and adequate sleep were the important causes of raising adolescents' life satisfaction. Conclusions: In order to enhance the adolescents' life satisfaction, we should make an effort to increase self-esteem, to prevent obesity, and to reduce depression through regular exercise and eating, adequate sleep. Therefore, it is important to recognize the importance of regular exercise and eating through health education. In addition, it is needed desperately to develop sleeping education program and to efforts to ensure sleeping right of adolescents.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify relationship between knowledge and infection control behavior about Hepatitis B patient in health care-related majors. Methods: Data was collected from health care related majors-nursing, emergency rescue and dental hygiene with questionaire. Total respondents were 306 and we use all of them. We analysed students' knowledge and infection control behavior about Hepatitis B patient and their relationship. Uni-variate analysis, t-test, ANOVA and correlation analysis test were conducted using SAS version 9.2. Results: Students who go the Hepatitis B lecture were significantly high Knowledge level about Hepatitis B(p<.05). Students who go to clinical education about Hepatitis B were significantly better behavior about infection control in clinical practice(p<.05). The relationship between knowledge about Hepatitis B and infection control in clinical practice was significantly negative(p<.05). Conclusions: It needs to be educated both infection control lectures and clinical practice to health care-related majors to prevent cross-infection between patients and health care providers.

  • Purpose: To examine the relationship between nurse staffing level and nurse perception of nursing performance. Method: The subjects of this study were 724 nurses from 70 medical or surgical wards in 23 hospitals from February to March 2006. A self-reporting questionnaire, which was developed by the researcher through a preceding study, was used. In data analysis, SAS program was utilized for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Tukey test. Results: The mean score of the nursing performance was 53.3. The mean of bed-to nurse ratio was 3.39:1. The study revealed a negative correlation between bed-to nurse ratio and the nurses' perception of nursing performance. There was a significant relationship between above 3.5:1 and below 2.5:1(F=4.59, p=0.010). Conclusion: We found that the higher the nurse staffing, the better the nursing performance. It is recommended that future research measures nurses' performance and nursing organizational performance using objective measurement tools including clinical indicators.

Methods: The subjects of the study consisted of 287 elementary students in Korea, and 185 elementary students in China. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, $x^2$ test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Results: The comparisons showed that Chinese children reported higher stress than that of Korean children. The Korean children perceived more receptive, more self regulative, and less accomplishment pressure about their parents' nurturing attitudes compared to the Chinese children. • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the physical-related stress on the appearance management behavior of middle-aged women. The questionnaires were administered to 414 middle-aged women living in Gwang-ju city, Korea. For analysis of data, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan-test were applied. The result was as follows. First, the middle-aged women's physical-related stress was classified as follows: 1) body-related stress, 2) face-related stress, 3) hair-related stress. The middle-aged women were under a lot of pressures from hair. Second, usually, between the group of physical-related much stress and a little stress. There was not significant difference in appearance management behavior: existence in a purchasing experience. But there were significant differences in it: intention of purchasing. Third, among demographic factors(age, educated level, job, income, and existence or nonexistence menstruation), there were significant differences on a physical-related stress. Finally, among demographic factors(age, educated level, job, income, existence or nonexistence her husband, and existence or nonexistence menstruation), there were significant differences in appearance management behavior.

  • These days, sexual harassment in the workplace or at school is being socially visualized. In this study, the desirable direction for clothing behavior is suggested by discussing the relationship between sexual desire and clothing. The relationship between sexual impulse and clothing is provided by studying college student's general opinion about sexual desire, also different ideas from females and males about the clothes that cause sexual impulses were studied, moreover, the desirable direction for clothing behavior is suggested by comparing the perceptions of college students about overly revealing clothing. This study performed the self description method and in-depth interview method on male and female college students at 3 University for 3 weeks from May, 28, 2007 to June, 23, 2007. After which 564 survey papers were distributed. The program SPSS WIN 12.0 was used to statistically analyze the data Frequency analysis, cross analysis, T-test, and a reliability test were performed on the study subject. According to the study results, sexual impulses are affected not only by internal factors but also external factors such as clothing and it is an important point. Women should not only pursue an attractive external appearance but also consider how other people think and respond to the message, and they should protect themselves from sexual harassment, or sexual violence, which are anti-social behaviors, by wearing clothes that are less stimulating.

  • For the efficient performance of steel and composite building structures subjected to strong earthquake, one of current research investigates the cyclic behavior of open-web composite beams. Both experimental test and nonlinear FEM analysis demonstrate their behavior so ductile that four T-sections around the corners of rectangular web-opening develop plastic hinges prior to potential brittle failure at the beam end, i.e. at the column face. This research proposes simplified equations for determining strength and initial stiffness of composite beams with a rectangular web-opening, and compares its results with those of experimental test and nonlinear FEM analysis.

For these purposes, a survey was conducted using questionaires. The questionaires consisted of mother's and child's were distributed to children of second and 6th grade and their mothers of 5 elementary schools in Seoul 634 cases were selected for data analysis. Then, these data were analyzed with statistical methods such as Frequency Distribution, Percentile, Mean, One-way Anova, Scheff -Test, T-Test, Pearson's Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis. From these finding, the follawing suggestions are made. First, to improve information processing competencies of children consumers, children consumers should be offered the consumer information that is suitable to child's cognitive development stage. Second, the consumer education and learning practical discriminatory competencies on TV ads. should be conducted for children consumers and his mothers. Third, children consumers should have the opportunities to practice as a consumer. The last, children consumers in low-income should be offered the specially educational program.
