The Joining Quality of High Strength Bolt, Nut and Washer Set (S10T & 10.9HRC) under the Surface Treatment Conditions (표면처리별 S10T, 10.9HRC 고장력 볼트 세트의 체결 품질 연구)

  • This test focuses on the correlations between joining axial force at non-room temperature and at room temperature according to the surface treatment (Geomet, Dacro, Green Kote, Armore Galv.). The quality characteristics of the fastening axial force required by the KSB 2819 and EN14399-10 standards were discussed. Surface treatment was implemented to S10T and 10.9HRC sets of bolts under the same environmental factors. Development for the stabilization of the fastening axial force required by each standard should continually be enforced, and the fastening and storage in the field should be maintained at room temperature. Managing stabilization of torque enumerated data is required after application of surface treatment. It is concluded that, by conducting the test of applying surface treatment to effectively manage, each lot-specific rate of axial force at room temperature conditions should be maintained below the maximum 4.47%. The decline rate of axial force should be maintained under 2.15% maximum, and the standard deviation of the room temperature condition should be maintained below 0.5.

  • 국내에 유통되는 제초날은 대부분 금속으로 제작되며, 금속 날의 대부분 탄소공구강(SK-3~5)으로 제작되고, 날 수 및 날 형태에 따라 2도 날, 3도 날, 4도 날, 8도 날, 톱날로 구분된다. 대부분 평지 제초작업에 사용되고, 고랑 제초 작업에 알맞은 제초날의 없어 고랑 제초 작업의 효율이 떨어진다. 본 연구는 굴곡이 있는 밭의 고랑 제초 작업에 효율적인 원형 제초날을 설계 하고자 한다. 밭작물의 제초작업은 굴곡이 있는 이랑과 고랑 사이의 잡초를 제거해야 하기 때문에 평지의 잡초를 제거하는 제초날로는 제초작업이 거의 불가능하다. 따라서 고랑 형상에 맞는 원형 제초날을 설계 하였으며, 회전 균형 및 무게의 균일성 설계가 쉬운 뼈대형 원형 제초날을 설계한 후 데이터를 이용하여 원형 제초날을 설계하였다. 또한 고랑의 잡초 뿌리부분을 제거하기 위해 원형 제초날에 돌출부를 추가하는 방법으로 설계하였다. 제초날은 밭작물 고랑폭을 기준으로 하여 높이는 85mm 직경은 300mm로 설계하였으며, 제초날 설계시 원형 제초날은 뼈대형 원형 제초날과 같이 고랑폭을 기준으로 하여 높이 및 직경을 뼈대형 원형 제초날과 동일한 치수로 설계하였다. 원형 제초날 설계에서 돌출부를 볼트 결착방식으로 설계하였으며, 회전중 돌출부의 파손 혹은 이탈을 방지하기 위하여 직경 5mm이상의 볼트 결착이 필요하였다. 볼트 결착방식은 제초날 조립후 제초날 회전시 고랑의 잡초를 효과적으로 제거하기 위한 작업공간 확보가 어려울 것으로 판단되었다. 따라서 제초날 원형부에 돌출부를 절단 절곡하는 방식으로 돌출부를 재설계하였으며, 돌출부 길이는 안쪽 부분 15mm, 바깥 부분 20mm로 설계하고, 돌출부 회전반경은 안쪽 날 20mm, 바깥 날 10mm로 설계하였다. 일반적인 제초날 과 달리 원형 제초날을 개발하기 위해서 회전균형과 안전이 제초날 설계에 중요한 요인이 된다. 뼈대형 제초날을 통하여 제초날의 균형 데이터를 분석하였고 이를 바탕으로 원형 제초날을 설계하였다. 또한 발란싱 머신을 이용한 회전시험에서 unbalance 정도가 3,600rpm에서 4.51/47.1deg로 나타나 제초기에 적용 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

  • The fatigue test under the constant amplitude repeated loading is performed to investigate the fatigue behavior of the Torque Shear type high tension bolted joint which is able to manage the axial force uniformly. From the test results, it's known that the reduction of the axial force of T/S bolt followed by the elasped time is similar to that of the high tension bolts. The difference of relaxation is not occurred according to the position of bolts, the size of the introduced axial force but the effect of the variation of temperature is large. In the reduction of the axial force followed by the cumulation of the fatigue load, the outer bolt is larger than the inner bolt. This result depends on the difference in the distribution of the non-slip zone. The variation of the surface roughness affects the slip and the reduction of the anal force.

Bearing Properties of Domestic Larix Glulam (국내산 낙엽송집성재의 지압특성)

  • Bearing strength test was investigated to determine the bearing properties of domestic larix glulam according to the load direction (in parallel to grain and in perpendicular to grain), the fastener (bolt and drift-pin), and the direction of laminae. The specimen was 5 ply glulam. The diameters of fastener are 12, 16 and 20 mm. The results were as follows. 1) In according to the diameter of bolt and drift-pin, the average of maximum bearing strength in parallel to grain loading was similar to that in perpendicular to grain loading. The average of maximum bearing strength was 1.50~2.31 times higher in parallel to grain loading than in perpendicular to grain loading. The average of maximum bearing strength in parallel to grain loading was lowered by 20% with increasing the diameter from 16 mm to 20 mm, but that in perpendicular to grain loading didn't show a clear tendency. 2) The average of bearing stiffness in parallel to grain loading was the highest at 16 mm in diameter. The average of bearing stiffness is similar to the shearing stiffness in drift-pin connection with increasing diameter. 3) In parallel to grain loading, the failure mode of specimens was the splitting along the grain in decreasing diameter. The failure mode in perpendicular to grain loading was the splitting along the grain. In this case, split occured more in specimens using bolt than in those using drift-pin. 4) The 5% offset yield strength in parallel to grain loading was similar to the predicted bearing strength of KBCS, NDS. In perpendicular to grain loading, the NDS's equation can be applied to predict the bearing strength.

  • Ti-6Al-4V alloy has been widely used for aerospace and power generation applications because of low density and attractive mechanical and corrosion resistant properties. However, the titanium alloy bolt is generally manufactured by cutting and rolling because of their poor workability. In order to achieve the mass production of titanium alloy bolts, it needs to be solved some manufacturing problems such as the sticking between workpiece and dies, the formation of the forming defects during the forging and so on. In this study, the manufacturing technology of titanium alloy bolts using warm forging process was introduced. The aim of present work is to develop a warm forging technology for high strength Ti-6Al-4V bolts.

Therefore, process optimization to reduce the processing step and energy is one of the most important things. The micro-alloyed steel of which post-heat-treatment is not necessary, has attractive points for high strength materials. However, for the application of non-heat-treated steel to structural parts, it is necessary to confirm the reliability of mechanical properties. In order to estimate mechanical properties. The microstructure, hardness, tensile strength, compressive strength and tensile fatigue strength of micro-alloyed steel having 900MPa tensile strength has been investigated.

  • This paper describes the effect of dynamic characteristics in tube line by external vibration conveying fluid with the power steering system. By the experimental analysis we found out that the factor of system vibration is the fluid-structure interaction of tube line. In fluid-filled tube system we study on the influence that the natural frequency of system and the frequency of wave motion produce upon through experiment. Experiments are modal test, frequency response function in continuous system, and vibrating tests when the system is driving with bolted clamping joint condition. From the results of the experimental studies, we obtained that the natural frequencies of system are very important than the wave induced vibrations. And we found that the tendency of system vibration level was decreased by bolting force, bolting condition and clamping distance.

The non-heat treated steel, post-heat-treated is no necessary, has attractive points as structural materials. However, establishment of mechanical properties is necessary to apply non-heat-treated steel to structural parts. In this study, for non-heat-treated steel and pre-heat-treated steel, we have investigated microstructure, hardness, the tensile strength, compressive strength. And the FE analysis technology to predict the hardness value of forged part is developed on micro-alloyed steel forged part.

  • The PLS 2-GeV linac employs 11 units of high-power pulsed klystrons(80MW) as the main RF sources. The matching modulators of 200 MW(400kV, 500 A) can provide a flat-top pulse width of 4.4 ${\mu}s$ with a maximum pulse repetition rate of 120 Hz at the full power level. For a good stability of electron beams, the pulse-to-pulse flat-top voltage variation of a modulator requires less than 0.5%. In order to achieve this goal, we stabilized high voltage charging power supplies within 1% by a phase controlled SCR voltage regulator. In addition, we employed ac/dc feedback together with a resistive De-Q'ing system to achieve far less than 0.5% variation of the PFN charging voltage. This paper presents the main feature of the klystron-modulator system and the characteristics of the pulsed high-power RF system performance during the beam injection operation for the Pohang Light Source commissioning.

  • The study mainly aims to explore how deterioration of motor control center, namely MCC, and vibration put impact on temperature of bus bar as well as temperature change of bolt-nut joint. The motor control center consists of three internal parts (i.e. R, S, T) which are for motor operation of high capacity. Two dimensional mechanism for measuring temperature was designed and manufactured with infrared temperature sensor. Installing it in inner motor control center enabled researcher to monitor temperature of bus bar as well as amount of change of current regularly. Temperature change of bus bar according to load was primarily examined based on a bolted joint in the experiment. It was clearly verified that temperature change of bus bar was proportional to current consumption. Therefore, installing non-contact two dimensional mechanism for measuring temperature in motor control center would be expected to prevent temperature rise owing to overload current and power outage as well as fire accident which can be triggered by poor electrical contact.
