  • When a weapon system is developed, climate elements such as temperature, rainfall, and so on have an effect on development costs and a developing period. Therefore, effects of environment and climate must be examined throughly before the design of weapon systems and be applied to their developments. And so, operational and storage requirements for weapon systems are determined and are applied to related tests through analyzing not only environmental factors such as vibration, shock, and so on, but also climate factors. In this paper, the distribution and the frequency of occurrence of rainfall were analyzed and were suggested as a good guide to determine standards of tests for weapon systems when it's raining.

  • World practice is evidence of that computer systems of an intellectual support of medical activities bound up with examination of patients, their diagnosis, therapy and so on are the most effective means for attainment of a high level of physician\`s qualification. Such systems must contain large knowledge bases consistent with the modern level of science and practice. To from large knowledge bases for such systems it is necessary to have a medical ontology model reflecting contemporary notions of medicine. This paper presents a description of an observation ontology, knowledge base for the physician of general tipe, architecture, functions and implementation of problem independent shell of the system for intellectual supporting patient examination and mathematical model of the dialog. The system can be used by the following specialist: therapeutist, surgeon, gynecologist, urologist, otolaryngologist, ophthalmologist, endocrinologist, neuropathologist and immunologist. The system supports a high level of examination of patients, delivers doctors from routine work upon filling in case records and also automatically forms a computer archives of case records. The archives can be used for any statistical data processing, for producing accounts and also for debugging of knowledge bases of expert systems. Besides that, the system can be used for rise of medical education level of students, doctors in internship, staff physicians and postgraduate students.

  • For a safety supervision, watching a restricted area so that no one go there is very important. This has been mostly accomplished by people. They keep an eye on many monitors at onece for a long time. It, however, is too simple and boring to concentrate it for a long time. So it's worth while to construct a watching system by image processing. And the system we made is now actually working at a certain hydroelectric power plant and some other restricted areas in Japan.

  • The problem of reducing the level of vibrations in structures arises in various branches of technology. For the calculation of systems equipped with DVAs, the frequencies of the protected system's free vibrations are determined first. In most practical problems system have to be considered continuous systems. It is important to obtain the detailed information about not the first frequency and the mode but anothers corresponding to it. So, this paper describes the method to obtain the accurate information about the combined discrete system. This information is obtained from the combined system's receptance. This paper shows the convenience when design the dynamic vibration absorber with the combined system's receptance.

  • Recently, as the technology for the development of high voltage power apparatus using SF6 gas has made remarkable progress, it became possible to develop more compact power apparatus adopting single body substation system. In these gas insulated power apparatus, it is impossible to achieve perfect and safe insulation using only SF6 gas, because some solid insulation parts should be installed to support current-carrying conductor parts for electrical and mechanical safety. When spacers were installed in SF6 gas insulation system, they were exposed to severe electrical intensification which could reduce system insulation performance and restrict the rated operating voltage So, it is necessary to clarify the dielectric characteristics of spacers by analytically and experimentally, in order to design and develop more compact and optimum gas insulated systems. In this paper, the field distribution of three-phase spacers were investigated using three dimensional electrostatic field analysis tool adopting BEM method. And the obtained results were compared to the conventional two dimensional computations. According to these three dimensional calculations, it was possible to find out weak points in the spacer more clearly and these results could be applied to design more compact and optimum three phase spacer developments.

  • The purpose of this study is to find method to meet the greater retailer's supplier assessment requirement So, this study analyze the greater retailer's requirement for supplier assesment and research global standard which is used instead of supplier assessment requirement that is recognized by global retailers initiative. Next, this study analyze domestic aquaculture certification requirement and compare the global standard with the domestic requirement by using The Most Similar Systems Design. As a result, this comparing has founded all of two domestic certifications are similar to global standard's Good Aquaculture Practice module but those are a little bit different from System Element module. Therefore, this study suggest tree alternative. First, make up for the weak points in the current domestic aquaculture certification system. Second, the introduction of global aquaculture management system certification as supporting by government. Third, development of new standard in accordance with global food standard. This study has major implications for research into development of domestic aquaculture standard.

  • Due to the population of the Republic of Korea is getting less, the shortage of available troops has become a big issue. In response to this, the need for Unmanned weapon systems is rising. To operate an Unmanned weapon system near borderlines or low altitude, it is necessary to protect not only the system itself but also operational information communicated between the Unmanned system and control station, so that they should be safe using Cybersecurity measures. Besides, it is critical to protect a few core technologies applied to Unmanned weapon systems throughout the Anti-Tamper measures. As the precedent studies only focus partially, Cybersecurity or Anti-Tamper, it is acknowledged that comprehensive studies are needed to be conducted. This study is to incorporate both concepts into Korea's defense acquisition process. Specifically, we will outline the concepts and needs of Cybersecurity and Anti-Tamper, and briefly present ways to apply them simultaneously.

  • Manufacturing companies' cost competitiveness with respect to equipment management can be achieved by satisfying additional market demands by their own capacity without purchasing additional equipments. In essence, it can be accomplished by making continuous investigation into bottlenecks and improvement on them. Therefore, equipment performance measure systems should be designed so that they can support manufacturing companies' such endeavors. With the purpose of establishing an effective equipment performance measurement system for detecting and improving bottlenecks, this study (1) suggests some desirable features that such a system should have, (2) evaluates conventional equipment performance measurement systems in terms of their usefulness for the detection and improvement of bottlenecks, and (3) proposes an improved system. We also perform a simulation experiment to demonstrate the limitations of the conventional systems and show how the proposed system can resolve the problems.

  • An embedded system is a computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions often with real-time computing constraints. A traditional design process of embedded systems is the development of document-centric approach, and it is difficult to develop an embedded system efficiently because communication between teams or steps is not smooth. So the Model Based Design Process are applied to the development of embedded systems. This paper will compare the Model Based Design Process and the traditional design process, and introduce example of development of vehicle device applied the Model Based Design Process.

  • The purpose of this study was to establish the upper garment sizing systems for elderly men. These were on the basis of classification of 294 elderly men's somatotypes aged between 60 and 80 with the extent of drop value and analysis of the sizing systems of men's wear companies. The results were as follows: First, the sizing systems of men's wear companies were established with priority given to the young and the middle whose heights were taller than the elderly. There was no sizing system only for elderly men in men's wear companies. Secondly, as the height range increased, the size of chest and waist proportionally increased; however, the waist sizes were limited to somewhat small size ranges. So the sizing systems of men's wear companies had difficulty in covering up the developed-waist somatotype of the elderly. Thirdly, only 1 company out of 10 established the sizing system according to the somatotype. Lastly, the total numbers of size which were established by this study according to somatotype were 40; 18 sizes were set for type A, 10 for type Y, and 12 for type B. The standard sizes were 97-88-165 for type A,94-79-165 for type Y, and 97-94-165 for type B.
