재사용 가능한 컴포넌트 기반의 임베디드 시스템 통합 프로토타이핑 기법 (Embedded System Integrated Prototyping Mechanism Based on Reusable Component)

  • 최근에 임베디드 시스템 개발자들을 위한 프로토타이핑 시스템 도구가 시장에 많이 출시되고 있다. 일찍부터 임베디드 시스템 설계에서 사용자의 요구사항을 분석하고 사용자 편의 인터페이스를 만드는데 있어서 프로토타입은 중요한 요소이다. 프로토타이핑 도구는 다음과 같이 Physical Prototyping (PP), Virtual Prototyping (VP), Modeling Prototyping (MP) 3가지로 나눌 수 있다. 이러한 프로토타이핑 기술을 통합하면 개발에 소모되는 비용내지 시간이 절약되므로써 시장진입시점이 빨라지고 제품의 경쟁력이 향상된다. 하지만 이러한 프로토타이핑을 통합하는데 있어서 여러가지 문제점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 여러 프로토타이핑 도구를 통합하는데 있어서 Javabean, ActiveX등과 같이 유연하고 재사용성이 용의한 컴포넌트를 이용하여 문제점을 해결하는 모습을 보여준다. 이러한 기술은 여러 임베디드 시스템을 개발시 재사용성과 유연성을 통한 편리성을 가질 수 있다.

Aero-elastic response of transmission line system subjected to downburst wind: Validation of numerical model using experimental data

  • At the University of Western Ontario (UWO), numerical tools represented in semi-closed form solution for the conductors and finite element modeling of the lattice tower were developed and utilized significantly to assess the behavior of transmission lines under downburst wind fields. Although these tools were validated against other finite element analyses, it is essential to validate the findings of those tools using experimental data. This paper reports the first aeroelastic test for a multi-span transmission line under simulated downburst. The test has been conducted at the three-dimensional wind testing facility, the WindEEE dome, located at the UWO. The experiment considers various downburst locations with respect to the transmission line system. Responses obtained from the experiment are analyzed in the current study to identify the critical downburst locations causing maximum internal forces in the structure (i.e., potential failure modes), which are compared with the failure modes obtained from the numerical tools. In addition, a quantitative comparison between the measured critical responses obtained from the experiment with critical responses obtained from the numerical tools is also conducted. The study shows a very good agreement between the critical configurations of the downburst obtained from the experiment compared to those predicted previously by different numerical studies. In addition, the structural responses obtained from the experiment and those obtained from the numerical tools are in a good agreement where a maximum difference of 16% is found for the mean responses and 25% for the peak responses.

  • DUe to the requirement of high precision and the complexity during the tool design for electron gun elements, it sometimes causes human-errors. Also, in the case of beginners, they have more trial and error than skilled engineers. To remove these problems and increase the productivity in the practice field, it need the deveiopment of CAD system for electron gun element tools. Through this study, a CAD system of electron gun element tools which is used by used by knowledge base system including expert's technology in the practics, has been developed. To developed this system, it has used C-language under HP-UNIX system and CIS customer language of the EXCESS CAD/CAM system. An application of this system will provide effective aids to the designer in this field.

  • Reduction of the aerodynamic drag is one of the most hot issues of car industries. Many researchers have studied in the area of drag reduction methodology using experimental tools or numerical tools. In general, car shape design is the main focus to reduce the drag in aerodynamic research area. However, not many people have studied the aerodynamic interference between running cars to figure out the drag variation. In this research, the aerodynamic interference between two running cars have been analyzed by using numerical tools, FLUENT 6.2. Several different models of cars and two different distances between two running cars are considered.

  • Feed drive systems are used to position the machine tool components carrying the cutting tool and workpiece to the desired location. Hence, their positioning accuracy and speed determine the quality and productivity of machine tools. In this paper, technical trend of machine tools feed drive systems are analyzed by patent mapping. And this paper suggested future development direction of feed drive systems. The analysis is carried out by using problem solution map (PSM) for the applied patent during January 2000 and December 2009 in Korea, Japan, EU and U.S.A.

  • For about the past decade and a half research efforts into cognitive radio networks (CRNs) have increased dramatically. This is because CRN is recognized as a technology that has the potential to squeeze the most out of the existing spectrum and hence virtually increase the effective capacity of a wireless communication system. The resulting increased capacity is still a limited resource and its optimal allocation is a critical requirement in order to realize its full benefits. Allocating these additional resources to the secondary users (SUs) in a CRN is an extremely challenging task and integer programming based optimization tools have to be employed to achieve the goals which include, among several aspects, increasing SUs throughput without interfering with the activities of primary users. The theory of the optimization tools that can be used for resource allocations (RA) in CRN have been well established in the literature; convex programming is one of them, in fact the major one. However when it comes to application and implementation, it is noticed that the practical problems do not fit exactly into the format of well established tools and researchers have to apply approximations of different forms to assist in the process. In this survey paper, the optimization tools that have been applied to RA in CRNs are reviewed. In some instances the limitations of techniques used are pointed out and creative tools developed by researchers to solve the problems are identified. Some ideas of tools to be considered by researchers are suggested, and direction for future research in this area in order to improve on the existing tools are presented.

무심연삭기 주축계의 설계 및 성능평가 (Design and Estimation of a Spindle System for Centerless Grinding Machine)

  • Design and estimation of a spindle system which was composed of grinding spindle and regulating spindle for the centerless grinding of ferrule was performed and prototypes of each spindle were manufactured. Loop stiffness of the spindle system was 130 N/${\mu}m$. Although the value was lower than the target value of 150 N/${\mu}m$, as there included 20% of the safety factor, it was enough to machine the ferrule. Rotational accuracies of each spindle were about 0.2${\mu}m$ at the primary speed of 2,300 rpm(grinding spindle) and 300 rpm(regulating spindle). Temperature rises at the same speed were about $4.4\;\~\;4.7^{\circ}C$ in the case of grinding spindle and $1.8^{\circ}C$in the case of regulating spindle, which were well agreed with the designed value. From these results, it was estimated that the prototype of spindle system had a enough performances for the centerless grinding machine to machine the ferrule.

공작기계용 원격 고장진단 및 보수 시스템 (Remote Fault Diagnosis and Maintenance System for NC Machine Tools)

  • Remote fault diagnosis and maintenance system using general telecommunication network is necessary for an effective fault diagnosis and higher productivity of NC machine tools. In order to monitor machine tool condition and diagnose alarm states due to electrical and mechanical faults, a remote data communication system for monitoring of NC machine fault diagnosis and status is developed. The developed system consists of (1) remote communication module among NC's and host PC using PSTN. (2) 8 channels analog data sensing module, (3) digital I/O module for control or NC machine, (4) communication module between NC machine and remote data communication system via RS-232C, and (5) software man-machine interface. Diagnostic monitoring results generated through a successive type inference engine are displayed in user-friendly graphics. The validity and reliability of the developed system is verified to be a powerful commercial version on a vertical machining center through a series of experiments.
