A Study on the Flow Assurance in Subsea Pipeline Considering System Availability of Topside in LNG-FPSO (LNG-FPSO에서 상부구조물의 시스템 가용도를 고려한 해저 배관의 유동안정성 연구)

  • This study presents flow assurance analysis in subsea pipeline considering system availability of topside in LNG-FPSO. A hydrate management strategy was established, which consisted of PVCap experiments, system availability analysis of LNG-FPSO topside, hydrate risk analysis in the pipeline, and calculation of PVCap injection concentration. The experimental data required for the determination of PVCap injection concentration were obtained by measuring the hydrate induction time of PVCap at the subcooling temperatures of 6.1, 9.2, and 12.1℃. The availability of LNG-FPSO topside system for 20 years was 89.3%, and the longest downtime of 50 hours occurred 2.9 times per year. The subsea pipeline model for multiphase flow simulation was created using field geometry data. As a result of risk analysis of hydrate plugging using subsea pipeline model, hydrate was formed at the end of flowline in 23.2 hours under the condition of 50 hours shutdown. The injection concentration of PVCap was determined based on the PVCap experiment results. The hydrate plugging in subsea pipeline of LNG-FPSO can be completely prevented by injecting PVCap 0.25 wt% 2.9 times per year.

An Analysis on the Optimal Level of the Maintenance Float Using Absorbing Markov Chain (흡수 마코프 체인을 활용한 적정 M/F 재고 수준에 관한 연구)

  • The military is an organization where reliability and availability take much more importance than in any other organization. And, in line with a recent trend of putting emphasis on 'system readiness', not only functions but also availability of a weapon system has become one of achievement targets. In this regard, the military keeps spares for important facility and equipment, which is called as Maintenance Float (M/F), in order to enhance reliability and availability in case of an unforeseen event. The military has calculated yearly M/F requirements based on the number of equipment and utilization rate. However, this method of calculation has failed to meet the intended targets of reliability and availability due to lack of consideration on the characteristics of equipment malfunctions and maintenance unit's capability. In this research, we present an analysis model that can be used to determine an optimal M/F inventory level based on queuing and absorbed Markov chain theories. And, we applied the new analysis model to come out with an optimal volume of K-1 tank M/F for the OO division, which serves as counterattack military unit. In our view, this research is valuable because, while using more tractable methodology compared to previous research, we present a new analysis model that can describe decision making process on M/F level more satisfactorily.

  • This study introduces and analyzes the energy for heating and cooling system in region with volcano-stratigraphic. The thermodynamic properties of air through the air blower installed at the entrance of borehole are measured. It estimates the availability of underground air for heating and cooling system through experimental data and theoretical analysis. Based on our conclusion from these calculations we predict possibility of over 40kW steady and stable energy source from underground. Therefore this underground air can be utilized in region with volcano-stratigraphic.

  • As the number and diversity of educational services increases rapidly on the Internet, we are faced with some service availability problems including persistent service monitoring and fault tolerancy. In this paper, we implemented a service monitoring & fault management system to enhance this availability and reduce administration cost of WBI system. In order to validate our system, we also illustrated an effective real-time monitoring and automatic fault announcement & recovery from our experiences in a real world WBI environment.

  • This paper introduces a clustering for Central Control System in New Distribution Automation System. There are three primary benefits to use clustering: improved availability, easier manageability and more cost-effective scalability. Availability: Clustering can automatically detect the failure of an application or server and quickly restart it on a surviving server. Clients only experience a momentary pause in service. Manageability: Clustering lets administrators quickly inspect the status of all cluster resources and easily move workload around onto different servers within a cluster. Scalability: Applications can use the Clustering services through the MSCS Application Programming Interface(API) to do dynamic load balancing and scale across multiple servers within a cluster.

  • In the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control, from a set of fuzzy IF-THEN rules adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control whose parameters are adjusted on-line according to some adaptation laws is constructed for the purpose of controlling the plant to track a desired trajectory.   • This study is concerned with a problem of determining the optimal requirements level of the spare parts, especially Concurrent Spare Parts(CSP). CSP is supplied with the procurement of new equipment system, and is used to sustain the equipment without resupply during the initial coverage period. We consider this situation as a multiechelon inventory model with several bases and one depot. And we assume a equipment system which consists of many types of parts would grounded if one of the parts fail. Also this multiechelon CSP problem is considering a time-varing (dynamic) environment. We develop a computational procedure to find the optimal number of spare parts minimizing the total expected cost, while achieving the required system availability. Finally we present a simple example of suggested method.

  • In these days, there is doubt about the effectiveness of ISO-9000 and ISO-14000 which are generally introduced in korean corporation by the consensus and even by corporations themselves. In order to find out the reason about the doubt, we should understand the present situation, and consider what countermeasure shall we take. It's obvious that if there is no doubt about the effectiveness and availability for quality system authenticated and verified by the international, then all the authentication can be made from that excellent system. In that case, it is necessary to find out whether it only exists in Korea or it generally exists internationally. This thesis considers the problems and try to search for a system management project and measure which is suitable for Korea.

  • In the present paper we develop a mathematical model that facilitates the calculation of reliability of a complex repairable system having three units namely super priority, priority and ordinary. The system is analyzed with the application of Gumbel Hougaard copula when different types of repair possible at a particular state due to deliberate failure. Various reliability measures such as reliability, MTTF and profit function have been evaluated by using supplementary variable and Laplace transform techniques.
