The water proofing sheet of synthetic polymer applies to the purification plant, the wastewater treatment center, the low waterway, the dosing tanks, etc, and when we construct these, we apply the dual waterproof by means of hot air staking welder or extruder. However, the experts skilled in the hot air welding or extruder does not use them, it can be a quality problem. Therefore, in this study, it is the purpose to verify whether the semi-automatic hot air staking welder and automatic extruder that can construct the waterproof sheet is possible in field even if it is not a professional specialist.
This paper reviews several different single site generation models for further development of a model for generating the Synthetic sequences of streamflow in the continuous streams like main streams in Korea. Initially the historical time series is looked using a time series technique, that is correlograms, to determine whether a lag one Markov model will satisfactorily represent the historical data. The single site models which were examined include an empirical model using the historical probability distribution of the random component, the linear autoregressive model(Markov model, or Thomas-Fiering model) using both logarithms of the data and Matala's log-normal transformation equations, and finally gamma distribution model.
The adsorption and molecular sieve characteristics of water, methanol, ethanol, butanol and benzene on acid-alkali treated natural zeolite from Kampo area were investigated by the Diamond·Kinter method, and it was compared with synthetic zeolite A. Adsorption amount of water increased with the treatment of acid rather than the treatment of alkali. Similar tendency was observedd in adsorption of alcohols such as methanol, ethanol and butanol, but the amount of adsorption decreased. From the views of the molecular size, adsorption amount of benzene decreased because of surface activity according to the cations species rather than chemical treatment. And it was almost same value that the amount of adsorption was compared acid treated natural zeolite with synthetic zeolite A.
Earth is facing a serious problem of pollution and scarcity of energy sources. The synthetic fibers used in automobile and Aerospace manufacturing sectors are non-renewable and harmful to environment. International Agency such as FAA and SAE is forcing for green fuel, green materials and structures. Further exploration is much needed to understand its potential in structural applications. In the current study, hemp and Jute fibre based composites were developed and tested for assessing their suitability for possible applications in automobile and aerospace sectors. Composites were undergone tensile test, water absorption test, and fatigue analysis to understand its behavior under various loading conditions. The finite element analysis has been carried out to understand the fatigue behaviour of composites. The results revealed that the usage of hemp and jute fibre reinforced composites can improve mechanical properties and have shown a viable alternative to replace synthetic fibres such as glass fibres for specific applications. Hemp reinforced bio-composites have shown better performance as compared to Jute reinforced bio-composites while water resistance characteristics for hemp is poorer to jute fibres.

For decolorization of synthetic dyes, Isolate fungi were investigated for the decolorization of 8 industrial dyes. One fungus isolated from textile wastewater collected from Banweol industrial complex, Korea showed excellent ability for removing synthetic dyes. Internal Transcribed Spacers (ITS) sequencing result was confirmed as the new Basidomycetes species. HUE05-1 The optimal decolorizaton conditions were pH5, 30$^{\circ}C$ and aerobic condition. HUE05-1 was completely decolorized all dyes in both solid and liquid condition. The result is decolorization effect at Reactive Orange 16; 97.12%, Reactive Blue 19; 92.09%, Reactive Blue 49; 97.04%, Reactive Yellow 145; 95.53%, Acid Orange 10; 99.18%, Acid Violet 43; 98.73%, Acid Blue 350; 94.71%, Disperse Blue 106; 90.07%.
The purpose of this study was to contemplate the effectual waterproofing materials and construction methods for the restoration of underground infrastructures using precast arches(PC-Arch). Until now, there were no proper waterproofing guidelines for waterproofing precast arch tunnel when restoring cultural heritage or building underground infrastructures for noise control. Asphalt membrane sheets were commonly used, but the efficacy of waterproofing done on the precast segment was vulnerable. This study aims to examine the Synthetic Rubber Polymerised Gel(SRPG) proposed in ISO TR 16475, a guideline for the repair of water-leakages, and to demonstrate field applicability based on the waterproofing solution used on the road improvement project in front of Changgyeonggung Palace in Yulgok-ro, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
In this paper, the performance of a synthetic fiber filter aimed at high-speed operation and dosed with different coagulants or filter aids was investigated. Without a coagulant, the filter efficiency was about 62% which was greatly enhanced when three types of coagulants namely PAC, Alum, and $FeCl_3$ were used. Among the coagulants tested, PAC was the most effective, giving 91% filter efficiency, followed by Alum with 90%, and $FeCl_3$ with 78%. PAC worked effectively at a very small range of dose, but Alum was relatively effective in a wide range of concentration. Compared with PAC and Alum, $FeCl_3$ provided more or less contant efficiency regardless of its dose but gave the poorest filter efficiency. Moreover, as the inflow turbidity increased, headloss increased and the efficiency decreased at any dose and type of coagulant. The headloss recorded in this particular synthetic fiber filter is not significant as compared to that observed in typical granular filters. The recovery of solids estimated after filter cleaning was about 80% for both PAC and Alum, but poorer at 72% in the case of $FeCl_3$ due to the heavy and large floc characteristics. The recurrence of filter efficiency verified through repetitive filter runs was found to be satisfactory.
This study was conducted to examine whether a specific synthetic metalworking fluid (MWF), "A", in use for 10 months without replacement, displayed microbial resistance and to identify the additives associated with the control of microbial growth. Three synthetic MWF products ("A", "B", and "C") were studied every week for two months. Microbial deterioration of the fluids was assessed through evaluation by endotoxin, bacteria and fungi levels in the MWFs. In addition, formaldehyde, boron, ethanolamine, and copper levels were also studied to determine whether they influence microbial growth in water-based MWFs. Throughout the entire study in the sump where MWF "A" was used, bacteria counts were lower than 103 CFU/mL, and endotoxins never exceeded 103 EU/mL. These levels were significantly lower than levels observed in sumps badly deteriorated with microbes. Boron levels in MWF "A" ranged from 91.7 to 129.6 ppm, which was significantly higher than boron levels found in other MWF products. The total level of ethanolamine (EA) in MWF "A" ranged from 35,595 to 57,857 ppm (average 40,903 ppm), which was over ten times higher than that found in other MWFs. Monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA) and triethanolamine (TEA) concentrations in MWF "A" were also significantly higher than seen in other MWFs. However, although EA and boron might improve anti-microbial performance, their abuse can pose a serious risk to workers who handle MWFs. From an industrial hygiene perspective, our study results stress that the positive synergistic effect of boron and EA in reducing microbial activity in MWF must be balanced with the potentially negative health effects of such additives. Our study also addresses the disadvantage of failing to comprehensively report MWF additives on Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Future research in MWF formulation is needed to find the best level of EA and boron for achieving optimal synergistic anti-microbial effects while minimizing employee health hazards.
