Sensorless Control of BLDC Motor using d-q Synchronously Rotating Reference Frame Concept (d-q 동기좌표 변환 개념을 이용한 BLDC 전동기의 센서리스)

  • A sensorless control algorithm of brushless DC (BLDC) motors with a model current based on 120 degree conduction mode is proposed in this paper. The rotor speed and position can be estimated using the current model of BLDC motor, which is a modified version of the conventional current model of permanent magnet synchronous motor. The rotor speed and position can be obtained using the difference of the actual current and the model current. The position error caused by the parameter errors of the model current is compensated using a PI controller and the feedback loop of the real current. The validity of the proposed sensorless control algorithm is verified through simulation.

  • The conventional way to implement a bidirectional converter with boost/buck has been to use two general purpose PWM ICs with a single supply voltage. In this case, when one direction mode is in operation, the other is disabled and the output of the error amplifier of the disabled IC may be saturated to a maximum value or zero. Therefore, during mode transition, a circuit which can disable the switching operation for a certain time interval is required making it impossible to get a seamless transition. In this paper, the limitations of the conventional 42V/14V bi-directional DC/DC converter implemented with general current mode PWM ICs with a single supply voltage are reviewed and a new current mode PWM controller circuit with a dual voltage system is proposed. The validity of the proposed circuit is investigated through simulation. and experiments.

  • This paper proposes the novel control of a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). This STATCOM system consists of cascade multilevel inverter which employs H-bridge inverter(HBI) The STATCOM system is modeled in the d-q transform matrix. This model is used to design a controller. The selective harmonic elimination method(SHEM) allows to keep the total harmonic distortion (THD) low in the output voltage. The switching method produces the staircase type waveform in cascade multilevel inverter. To balance the DC voltages in HBIs capacitor, the rotated switching scheme is newly proposed in this paper. The proposed control scheme is verified in the simulated results.

  • This paper presents the DQ transfomation and space vector modulation method to develop a control algorithm of distribution STATCON(STATic CONdenser) for line voltage regulation, dc link voltage regulation and harmonics compensation. The Performance analysis of a PI with ramp comparision and synchronous reference frame current controller is carried out. Based on these analysis, the control performances are desirable to compensate the harmonics and to regulate de link and line voltage of Distribution line.

  • This paper presents the new unified power flow controller(UPFC) steady-state model. This is derived from UPFC bus power equations of UPFC Synchronous voltage source model. This is very simple and exact model. This can easily be incorporated in a load flow Program, which is suited for monitoring the Power system state as well as determining the magnitude and phase angle of UPFC serial voltage source.

  • Recently Advanced Static Var Compensators(ASVC) or STATic Synchronous COMpesator(STATCOM) has been considered as a next generation reactive power controller. [2] STATCOM is a voltage source inverter(VSI) based static VAr compensator with only small capacitors on the do side. The main function of the STATCOM is to keep the bus voltage magnitude at the desired value. [1] This paper compares the PAM STATCOM with PWM STATCOM. The characteristics and the control method of each model is analyzed. And the simulation of STATCOMs based on the above two methods was presented.

  • In this paper, we address an active vibration control system, which suppresses the vibration engaged by magnetically levitated stage. The stage system consists of a levitating platen with four permanent magnetic linear synchronous motors in parallel. Each motor generates vertical force for suspension against gravity and propulsion force horizontally as well. This stage can generate six degrees of freedom motion via the vertical and horizontal forces. In the stage system, which represents the settling-time critical system, the motion of the platen vibrates mechanically. We designed an active vibration control system for suppressing vibration due to the stage moving. The command feedforward with inertial feedback algorithm is used for solving stage system's critical problems. The components of the active vibration control system are accelerometers for detecting stage tables's vibrations, a digital controller with high precise signal converters. and electromagnetic actuators.

  • In this paper, UPS, which is embedded in computer, is developed against the poor utility power system. In the developed system, PIC16C74A is used as the main controller, and UPS system consists of micom control module, power failure detecting module, charging module, power module, synchronous transfer module, and GUI module. Additionally, GUI module consists of battery charging state unit, power operating unit and operating state unit.

  • In this paper we implement moving picture transfer system using bluetooth Development Kit (DK). To reduce the size of the image data, we use M-JPEG compression. We use bluetooth Synchronous Connection-Oriented (SCO) link to transfer voice data. Server receive image data from camera and compress the image data in M-JPEG format, and then transmit the image data to client using bluetooth Asynchronous connection-less (ACL) link. Client receive image data from bluetooth ACL link and decode the compressed image and then display the image to screen. Sever and Client can transmit and receive voice data simultaneously using bluetooth SCO link. In this paper bluetooth HCI commands and events generated by host controller to return the results of HCI commands are explained and the flow of bluetooth connection procedure is presented.

  • This paper addresses the design and implementation problem of the mobile robot with the synchronous driving mechanism that consists of modular control systems based on the Universal Serial Bus (USB). Recently, the USB have attracted the hardware developers'interests due to its low cost, compatibility, and extenability. In particular, the USB enables us to organize the whole system in the modular manner very easily, and this property plays a very important role in shortening the developing time in implementing the target system, for example, the mobile robot system. In this paper, we implement the USB motion controller and the USB ultrasonic sensor system and verified the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed system through the real experiments including the mobile robot navigation and the environment recognition.
