  • This paper explains the design and implementation of the EC_NH. EC_NH is a system that is suitable for detecting, sharing and recovering software error based on multimedia CSCW(Computer Supportes Cooperated Work). With error sharing system, a group cooperating users can share error applications. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is shared with participants engaged in a cooperative work. Our Digital Carousel enables user to share media objects through media synchronization mechanism. We implemented the Digital Carousel so that the users participated in collaborative work may refer shared media or error objects as the same view to others.

  • This paper presents a method to design the integrated system for supporting both multimedia contents creation and its presentation in a windows system. Especially, it describes techniques for designing an integrated editor that can be used to crate and edit various media data including continuous media such as audio and video. And it also proposes a system model for systematically integrating multimedia creation tool with multimedia presentation system where the buffering and scenario-based presentation methods are included in the propose system for supporting effective multimedia presentation through a network. Finally, we describe a threads processing technique based on event monitoring to satisfy needs for presentation control, synchronization control, and user's input control during a multimedia presentation.

  • SMIL is a declarative markup language based on XML, which enables users to make effective multimedia presentations on the web by synchronizing media objects. In this paper, we design and implement a SMIL authoring tool which support Intuitive creation of web multimedia documents and diverse practical use of created information. Besides, creation, management and authoring module of SMIL document, it offers template interface depending on network bandwidth selection for general users to create multimedia presentation a convenient way. In addition, we implement SMIL document management facility for a large number of users, by connecting SMIL contents database sever.

  • 전술데이터링크는 전장 환경에서 모든 플랫폼들을 네트워크를 통해 하나로 묶어 전쟁 효과를 극대화할 수 있는 기반이 되는 통신 기술이다. 이러한 전술데이터링크의 원활한 운영을 위해 플랫폼간 시간 동기가 필수적이며, 대부분 GPS(Global Positioning System)를 사용하고 있다. 전세계적으로 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 전술데이터링크인 Link-16 에서는 네트워크에 가입하면서 NTR(Network Time Reference) 과의 시간을 동기화하는 절차를 제공한다. 이러한 시간 동기 절차는 대략적인 동기와 정밀한 동기의 두 단계로 구분된다. 대략적인 동기는 프레임이 시작하는 첫 타임 슬롯에서 주변 노드로부터 IEM(Initial Entry Message)을 수신하여 전송 시간만큼의 오류를 포함하는 시간 동기 방식이다. 본 논문에서는 모의 실험을 통해 IEM 을 전송하는 노드의 거리에 따른 메시지의 충돌 확률을 구하고, 그 충돌 확률에 따라 시간 동기에 소요되는 시간으로 Link-16 의 시간 동기 성능을 분석하였다.

  • If the EOIR equipment mounted on an unmanned aircraft transmits images and receives commands through a data link, there may be delays in data transmission depending on the transmission path of the data and the conditions of the ground equipment or wireless network. This increases the possibility of initial target LOCK-ON failure due to the difference between the time when the received image is viewed and the time when the image is taken. Therefore, this paper proposed a way to use frame indexes to synchronize with images, and to increase the success of target tracking by adding frame indexes to commands from the ground station.

  • RIO is a new network API for Windows that is designed to have high I/O performance through low overhead and latency. Using RIO, MMO game servers may have much performance benefits. In addition, HTM has better productivity and performance compared to existing synchronization methods, so adopting it may produce better performance, also. In this paper, we improved server performance by implementing a new MMO game server architecture optimized with RIO and HTM. The performance of the server was verified through a benchmark program, and the number of concurrent users increased by 19%.

A Deep Learning Approach for Identifying User Interest from Targeted Advertising

  • In the Internet of Things (IoT) era, the types of devices used by one user are becoming more diverse and the number of devices is also increasing. However, a forensic investigator is restricted to exploit or collect all the user's devices; there are legal issues (e.g., privacy, jurisdiction) and technical issues (e.g., computing resources, the increase in storage capacity). Therefore, in the digital forensics field, it has been a challenge to acquire information that remains on the devices that could not be collected, by analyzing the seized devices. In this study, we focus on the fact that multiple devices share data through account synchronization of the online platform. We propose a novel way of identifying the user's interest through analyzing the remnants of targeted advertising which is provided based on the visited websites or search terms of logged-in users. We introduce a detailed methodology to pick out the targeted advertising from cache data and infer the user's interest using deep learning. In this process, an improved learning model considering the unique characteristics of advertisement is implemented. The experimental result demonstrates that the proposed method can effectively identify the user interest even though only one device is examined.

  • The Bluetooth technology represents an attractive approach to enable short distance wireless connectivity. The Bluetooth standard operates at the 2.4 GHz ISM band and offers the advantage of establishing ad hoc networks, called piconet and scatternet. The spread of Bluetooth implementation in consumer products opens up a new short range wireless networking applications. Bluetooth MAC avoids packet collision within a piconet by simple time multiplexing. But lack of synchronization among independent neighboring piconets introduces packet overlapping within a time slot. In this paper, the wireless network throughput of Bluetooth packet transmission system applying the pure-ALOHA and slotted-ALOHA MAC is investigated according to the impact of channel environment. From the obtained results, the throughput of the Bluetooth MAC protocol shown to offer good performance in wireless channel, and the results are useful for the implementation of Bluetooth networks.
