  • In this paper, we discuss optimal design of Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks by means of Genetic Algorithms(GAs) using symbolic coding for non-linear data. One of the major subject of genetic algorithms is representation of chromosomes. The proposed model optimized by the means genetic algorithms which used symbolic code to represent chromosomes. The proposed gFPNN used a triangle and a Gaussian-like membership function in premise part of rules and design the consequent structure by constant and regression polynomial (linear, quadratic and modified quadratic) function between input and output variables. The performance of the proposed model is quantified through experimentation that exploits standard data already used in fuzzy modeling. These results reveal superiority of the proposed networks over the existing fuzzy and neural models.

Roles of Social Identity Verification in the Effects of Symbolic and Evaluation Relevance on Chinese Consumers' Brand Attitude

  • Purpose - Current study aimed at investigating the symbolic and evaluation relevance to global luxury brands as the causes of inducing social identity verification, and also explored whether the social identity verification will affect the attitude toward the brands. Research design, data, and methodology - 323 questionaries from Chinese consumers were used to test hypotheses by structural equation model of AMOS 22.0. Results - First, social identity verification positively affected on the brand attitude. Second, both the symbolic relevance and the evaluation relevance positively affected on social identity verification. Third, the mediation roles of social identity verification were identified. Social identity verification played a full mediation role in the effect of the symbolic relevance on the brand attitude, and played a partial mediation role in the effect of the evaluation relevance on the brand attitude. Conclusions - This study could contribute to the advancement of theory concerned with the roles of consumers' social identity verification which induces positive attitude toward the global luxury brands. Global brand managers in China should try to search ways by which consumers can feel both the symbolic relevance and evaluation relevance to their luxury brands, and should make efforts to improve the symbolic relevance and evaluation relevance to their brand.

구조해석(構造解析)을 위한 Symbolic Manipulation Program (A Symbolic Manipulation Computer Program for Structural Analysis)

  • 기존(旣存) 범용 구조해석용(構造解析用) 프로그램들은 선택(選擇)된 역학적(力學的) 이론(理論), 계산(計算) algorithm등이 고정(固定)되어 있으므로 이용자(利用者)는 프로그램을 원하는 대로 control하기 어렵고 프로그램에 정의(定義)된 대로 data input만 준비(準備)한다. 이용자(利用者)가 계산과정(計算過程)을 control 할 수 있으며 원하는 역학적(力學的) 이론(理論) 및 계산(計算) algorithm등을 보완(補完)하여 이용(利用)할 수 있도록 한 구조해석용(構造解析用) 프로그램인 Symbolic Manipulation Program들이 개발(開發)되었으나 이들은 single domain 문제(問題) 해석용(解析用)이므로 대형(大型)콤퓨터가 필요(必要)하다. 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 substructure technique을 도입(導入)하여 구조물(構造物)을 multi domain으로 하여 중(中), 소형(小型)콤퓨터로도 해석(解析)할 수 있으며, matrix analysis 및 finite element analysis를 할 수 있도록 finite element characteristic arrays(Stiffness, Mass matrix)등을 계산(計算)하는 Element Subroutine 중 3D Beam element, Plate bending element 및 동력학계산(動力學計算)을 위한 Eigenvalue routine을 포함(包含)한 Symbolic Manipulation Program 개발(開發)이다. 이 프로그램의 구조(構造)는 module화(化)된 독립적(獨立的) 기능(機能)을 가진 processor 들로 구성(構成)되어 프로그램의 수정(修正), 첨가(添加), 삭제(削除)가 용이(容易)하며, Integrated Program Network(IPN) 개념중(槪念中) data base 방법(方法)으로 matrix form으로 된 data의 취급이 효율적(效率的)이다.

RFID 센서를 이용한 실내 기호공간에서의 위치추적 (Location Tracking in Indoor Symbolic Space with RFID Sensors)

  • 최근 실내 공간 내에서의 위치 정보를 이용한 공간정보 서비스가 실외공간에서 제공되는 서 비스만큼 공간정보시스템의 중요한 응용분야로 자리 잡고 있다. 실외 공간과 달리, 실내 공간의 위치 정보는 좌표기반이 아닌, 방 번호와 같은 기호를 기반으로 표현된다. 따라서 실내공간에서 이동객체의 위치를 추적하기 위해서는 이동객체의 현재 위치를 이용하여 좌표정보를 예측하는 것이 아니라, 기호적 추론이 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 RFID센서를 이용하여 이동객체의 위치를 항상 명시적으로 결정할 수 있는 추적가능 실내 기호공간을 위한 프레임웍을 제안한다. 우선, 실내기호공간과 실내기호공간에서의 위치추적에 대한 개념을 소개하고, 추적 가능한 실내 기호공간을 위한 접근성 그래프를 정의한다. 둘째로, RFID 리더기의 배치방법, 추적 가능한 실내기호공간을 위한 접근성 그래프 생성방법과 이를 이용한 위치 추적방법을 제시한다. 마지막으로, 제시한 방법의 유효성을 보이기 위하여 실험결과를 보인다.

만 2세 영아의 상징놀이 수준과 어머니의 반응성 및 언어유형 간의 관계 (The Relationship among Toddler's Symbolic Play Level, Mother's Responsiveness and Verbal Interaction)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among toddler's symbolic play level, mother's responsiveness and verbal interaction. The subjects were 56 pairs of 24-29 months old toddlers and their mothers. The toddler's symbolic play level was classified using categories by Gowen(1995). The mother's verbal interaction was coded during a 10-minute-free play session with her toddler using Caldera, Huston, and O'Brien's(1989) categories. PICCOLO(The Parenting Interactions with Child Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes) by Roggman, Cook, Innocenti, Jump, Norman, & Christiansen(2009) was used to investigate the mother's responsiveness. While the mothers played with their toddlers during a 10-minute-free play session, their interaction were videotaped. The data were analyzed by means, t-test, and correlations. The results of the study were as follows: First, the mean levels of the toddler's symbolic play were in level 3, 'the pretending others'. Also girls spent more symbolic play time with mothers than boys. Second, mothers' responsiveness was generally high in free play with their toddlers. Mothers frequently used 'questions' 'comments' and 'fantasy statements'. Mothers with girls used more 'questions' than mothers with boys. Third, there was a significant relationship among toddler's symbolic play level, mother's responsiveness and verbal interaction. Maternal responsiveness and 'fantasy statements' were positively related with the mean level, and the frequency of play. The 'questions' and 'answers' were also related with symbolic play level and frequency. But 'praise' was negatively related with symbolic play frequency. In conclusion, this study suggested that toddler's symbolic play level was related with mother's responsiveness and verbal interaction during free play.

이미지의 Symbolic Representation 기반 적대적 예제 탐지 방법 (Adversarial Example Detection Based on Symbolic Representation of Image)

  • 딥러닝은 이미지 처리에 있어 우수한 성능을 보여주며 큰 주목을 받고 있지만, 입력 데이터에 대한 변조를 통해 모델이 오분류하게 만드는 적대적 공격에 매우 취약하다. 적대적 공격을 통해 생성된 적대적 예제는 사람이 식별하기 어려울 정도로 최소한으로 변조가 되며 이미지의 전체적인 시각적 특징은 변하지 않는다. 딥러닝 모델과 달리 사람은 이미지의 여러 특징을 기반으로 판단하기 때문에 적대적 예제에 속지 않는다. 본 논문은 이러한 점에 착안하여 이미지의 색상, 모양과 같은 시각적이고 상징적인 특징인 Symbolic Representation을 활용한 적대적 예제 탐지 방법을 제안한다. 입력 이미지에 대한 분류결과에 대응하는 Symbolic Representation과 입력 이미지로부터 추출한 Symbolic Representation을 비교하여 적대적 예제를 탐지한다. 다양한 방법으로 생성한 적대적 예제를 대상으로 탐지성능을 측정한 결과, 공격 목표 및 방법에 따라 상이하지만 specific target attack에 대하여 최대 99.02%의 탐지율을 보였다.

패션제품의 상징적 소비성향에 따른 브랜드 애착과 브랜드 충성도와의 관계 (The Relations between Brand Attachment and Brand Loyalty with regard to Symbolic Consumption Propensity toward Fashion Goods)

  • The Purpose of this study is to research the relations between brand attachment and brand loyalty depending on symbolic consumption propensity toward fashion goods. Subjects were 391 women in their twenties to fifties who live in Gyungsang Province and have purchased the fashion goods. Frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, and one-way layout variance analysis were conducted using SPSS 13.0 as data analysis. The findings from the analysis are described in the following: Uniqueness and materialism out of the symbolic consumption propensity toward fashion goods had positive effects on the elements of brand attachment such as love, care, and knowledge. Brand loyalty was influenced positively by social face sensitivity and materialism among symbolic consumption toward fashion goods.

A Symbolic Computation Method for Automatic Generation of a Full Vehicle Model Simulation Code for a Driving Simulator

  • This paper deals with modeling and computer simulation of a full multibody vehicle model for a driving simulator. The multibody vehicle model is based on the recursive formulation and a corresponding simulation code is generated automatically from AUTOCODE, which is a symbolic computation package developed by the authors using MAPLE. The paper describes a procedure for automatically generating a highly efficient simulation code for the full vehicle model, while incorporating realistically modeled components. The following issues have been accounted for in the procedure, including software design for representing a mechanical system in symbolic form as a set of computer data objects, a multibody formulation for systems with various types of connections between bodies, automatic manipulation of symbolic expressions in the multibody formulation, interface design for allowing users to describe unconventional force-and torque-producing components, and a method for accommodating external computer subroutines that may have already been developed. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method have been demonstrated by the simulation code developed and implemented for driving simulation.

The Effects of Face on Symbolic Consumption Trends, Product Satisfaction, and New Product Purchase Intention of Online Golf Product Consumers

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of online golf product consumers' face on symbolic consumption trends, product satisfaction and new product purchase intention. To this end, a survey was conducted on 300 customers who have purchased golf products online at golf practice centers located in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Chungcheongnam-do Province. Data processing was performed using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18 to analyze verifiable factors, reliability, correlation, and structural equations. We obtained the following results. First, face has been shown to have a significant impact on symbolic consumption propensity. Second, symbolic consumption tendencies have a significant impact on product satisfaction and intention to purchase new products. Third, product satisfaction has been shown to have a negative impact on the intention of purchasing new products.

Investigating the Effects of Art Product's NFT Characteristics on Purchase Intention for Self and Others

  • A research model was developed in this study from previous research to illustrate the relationship among perceived scarcity, assumed expensiveness of art products, perceived functional value, perceived symbolic value as well as purchase for self and others. 639 valid cases who have experienced NFT art products have been collected for data analyses. The R software has been chosen for analysis. The results have revealed that perceived scarcity was positively related to perceived functional value and perceived symbolic value, but it was assumed that the expensiveness of art products was not significantly related to perceived functional value or perceived symbolic value. Moreover, functional value was significantly related to the purchase intention of both self and others, while symbolic value only was significantly affected by the purchase intention of others. The results of this study have provided managerial implications for future studies.
