  • Accurate calculation of the conduction and switching losses of a power electronic converter is required to achieve the efficiency of the converter. Such calculation is also useful for computing the junction temperature of the switches. A few models have been developed in the articles for calculating the switching energy losses during switching transitions for the given values of switched voltage and switched current. In this study, these models are comprehensively reviewed and investigated for the first time for ease of comparison among them. These models are used for calculating the average amount of switching power losses. However, some points and details should be considered in utilizing these models when switched current or switched voltage presents time-variant and alternative quantity. Therefore, an applicable technique is proposed in details to use these models under the above-mentioned conditions. A proper switching loss model and the presented technique are used to establish a new and fast method for obtaining the average switching power losses in any type of power electronic converters. The accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated by comprehensive simulation studies and experimental results.

  • This paper presents a zero voltage and zero current switching (ZVZCS) interleaving two-transistor forward converter for high input voltage and high power application. A phase shift has a disadvantage that a circulating current and RMS current stress, conduction losses of transformer and switching devices increases. Due to this circulating current and RMS current stress, conduction losses of transformer and switching devices increases. To alleviate these problems, we propose an improved interleaving two-transistor forward Zero Voltage and Zero Current Switching (ZVZCS) dc/dc converter using a tapped inductor a snubber capacitor and two snubber diodes attached at the secondary side of transformer. The proposed ZVZCS converter is verified on a 1.8kW, 5kHz experimental prototype.

  • In the case of conventional high frequency inverter, with damage of switch by surge voltage when switch gets into compulsion extinction by load accident and so on because reactor is connected by series to switch, or there was problem of conduction loss by reactor's resistivity component, Also, it has controversial point of that can not ignore conduction loss of switch in complete work kind action of soft switching. In this paper, as high frequency induction heating power supply, we propose half bridge type multi resonance soft switching high frequency inverter topology that can realize high amplitude operation of load current with controlling switch current by multiplex resonance, mitigating surge voltage when switch gets into compulsion extinction and to be complete operation of zero current switching by opposit parallel connected reactor to inverter switch. and do circuit analysis for choice of most suitable circuit parameter of circuit

  • In this study, we introduce a novel TiN/Ag embedded TiO2/FTO resistive random-access memory (RRAM) device. This distinctive device was fabricated using an environmentally sustainable, solution-based thin film manufacturing process. Utilizing the peroxo titanium complex (PTC) method, we successfully incorporated Ag precursors into the device architecture, markedly enhancing its performance. This innovative approach effectively mitigates the random filament formation typically observed in RRAM devices, and leverages the seed effect to guide filament growth. As a result, the device demonstrates switching behavior at substantially reduced voltage and current levels, heralding a new era of low-power RRAM operation. The changes occurring within the insulator depending on Ag contents were confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. Additionally, we confirmed the correlation between Ag and oxygen vacancies (Vo). The current-voltage (I-V) curves obtained suggest that as the Ag content increases there is a change in the operating mechanism, from the space charge limited conduction (SCLC) model to ionic conduction mechanism. We propose a new filament model based on changes in filament configuration and the change in conduction mechanisms. Further, we propose a novel filament model that encapsulates this shift in conduction behavior. This model illustrates how introducing Ag alters the filament configuration within the device, leading to a more efficient and controlled resistive switching process.

  • Due to high power ratings and low conduction loss, the IGBT has become more attractive in switching power supplies. However, its turn-on and turn-off characteristics cause severe switching loss and switching frequency limitation. This paper proposes 2.4kW, 48V, high efficiency half-bridge DC-DC converter using paralleled IGBT-MOSFET switch concept, where each of IGBT and MOSFET plays its part during on-periods and switching instants. The switching loss is analyzed by using the linearized model and the opteration of the converter are investigated by simulation results.

  • A new high frequency switching drive method using IGBT is proposed for non-magnetic induction heating system. Using this method, the switching and conduction losses of the switching devices can be reduced. In addition, since IGBT cosl is lower than MOS-FET one, the system cosl can be remarkably pared down. The prototype induction heating system with 1.2㎾ power consumption is builted and tested to verify the operation of the proposed high frequency switching drive method.

  • This paper presents the synchronous soft switching boost converter. It is shown that the proposed converter effectively reduces conduction loss by using MOSFET device in place of diode in the conventional boost converter. Also, this soft switching boost converter can reduce switching loss using ZVS method through resonant inductor and capacitor. The proposed synchronous soft switching boost converter is suitable for PV generation system.

  • In this paper, new zero voltage and zero current switched PWM(Pulse Width Modulated) converters are suggested. The main and auxiliary switch of the converters satisfy soft switching conditions, which are zero voltage or zero current switching of the switches. The switching characteristics of the proposed converters are experimentally verified by boost typed converter, which has 250 kHz switching frequency. For the 250 kHz operation, turn on period of auxiliary switch is about 1/40 for switching period of 4 ${\mu}\textrm{s}$. Therefore, the conduction loss of auxiliary switch is reduced.

  • The state-space average model is extended to buck-boost, and buck-boost topology switching mode DC/DC converters and modified to have higher precision without increment of computation. The modified model is used in continuous conduction mode(CCM) switching DC/DC converters and some significant conclusions are derived. This paper discusses the discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) modeling of DC/DC converter and critical characteristic using average model of switch. Average model of switch approach is expended to the modeling of boundary conduction mode DC/DC converters that operate at the boundary between continuous conduction mode(CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode(DCM). Frequency responses predicted by the average model of switch are verified by simulation and experiment.
