태양광발전을 위한 6-pulse-shift 전류형 인버터에 관한 연구 (A Study on 6-pulse-shift Current-source PWM Inverter for Photovoltaic System)

  • 본 논문에서는 효율을 개선하고 인버터 스위칭 주파수를 줄이기 위하여 벅-부스트 형식을 기반의 PWM 전류형 인버터를 내장한 6-pulse-shift 컨버터 구조를 제안한다. 이는 에너지 저장장치 없이 태양광 시스템과 전력계통 사이를 연계하는 시스템으로 사용할 수 있다. 제안된 회로는 초퍼로 동작하는 6개의 전류형 벅-부스트 컨버터와 교류 출력의 극성을 결정하는 한 개의 전파 브리지 인버터로 구성된다. 따라서 제안된 인버터는 스위칭 손실을 줄이고 단위 역률운전을 구현하는 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서 이론적인 배경을 논하고 TMS320F2812를 사용하여 구현된 인버터 시작품에 대한 입출력 특성을 실험적으로 입증하였다.

Electrical Characteristic of Power MOSFET with Zener Diode for Battery Protection IC

  • A high power MOSFET switch based on a 0.35 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process has been developed for the protection IC of a rechargeable battery. In this process, a vertical double diffused MOS (VDMOS) using 3 ${\mu}m$-thick epi-taxy layer is integrated with a Zener diode. The p-n+Zener diode is fabricated on top of the VDMOS and used to protect the VDMOS from high voltage switching and electrostatic discharge voltage. A fully integrated digital circuit with power devices has also been developed for a rechargeable battery. The experiment indicates that both breakdown voltage and leakage current depend on the doping concentration of the Zener diode. The dependency of the breakdown voltage on doping concentration is in a trade-off relationship with that of the leakage current. The breakdown voltage is obtained to exceed 14 V and the leakage current is controlled under 0.5 ${\mu}A$. The proposed integrated module with the application of the power MOSFET indicates the high performance of the protection IC, where the overcharge delay time and detection voltage are controlled within 1.1 s and 4.2 V, respectively.

Three-Phase Four-Wire Inverter Topology with Neutral Point Voltage Stable Module for Unbalanced Load Inhibition

  • A novel three-phase four-wire inverter topology is presented in this paper. This topology is equipped with a special capacitor balance grid without magnetic saturation. In response to unbalanced load and unequal split DC-link capacitors problems, a qusi-full-bridge DC/DC topology is applied in the balance grid. By using a high-frequency transformer, the energy transfer within the two split dc-link capacitors is realized. The novel topology makes the voltage across two split dc-link capacitors balanced so that the neutral point voltage ripple is inhibited. Under the condition of a stable neutral point voltage, the three-phase four-wire inverter can be equivalent to three independent single phase inverters. As a result, the three-phase inverter can produce symmetrical voltage waves with an unbalanced load. To avoid forward transformer magnetic saturation, the voltages of the primary and secondary windings are controlled to reverse once during each switching period. Furthermore, an improved mode chosen operating principle for this novel topology is designed and analyzed in detail. The simulated results verified the feasibility of this topology and an experimental inverter has been built to test the power quality produced by this topology. Finally, simulation results verify that the novel topology can effectively improve the inhibition of an inverter with a three-phase unbalanced load while decreasing the value of the split capacitor.

선외기 선박용 비접촉 러더센서 및 자동조향장치 개발 (Development of Outboard Type Contactless Rudder Sensor and Automatic Steering System)

  • In this paper, we developed a core module of the steering system to control and operate the outboard ship with the automatic steering system, and implemented it as a complete integrated system. In particular, this paper presents the problem of the rudder sensor used in the existing system and implements the contactless rudder sensor as an improvement. In the case of existing rudder sensors, there is a problem that safety operation and economic loss of the ship operation is caused by malfunction due to immersion during use in outboard vessels. However, the proposed rudder sensor is separated from the rotary shaft to constitute a contactless type, and a circular magnet is fixed so that the rotating value can be detected and used by the Hall sensor to completely solve the flooding problem. As a result of the characteristic test, the voltage value from 1.8V to 3.2V was obtained between $-35^{\circ}$ and $+35^{\circ}$ degrees and satisfied the reference value. The proposed rudder sensor was mounted on the outboard ship, and all the performance of controller system were checked. According to the system proposed in this paper, it satisfies the Korean Standard Specification, which defines the speed of convergence in 30 seconds by switching from left to right in 7 seconds. We also confirmed that automatic steering was performed by comparing the compass sensor with the destination in the integrated controller at the start-up.

A Fault Tolerant Control Technique for Hybrid Modular Multi-Level Converters with Fault Detection Capability

  • In addition to its modular nature, a Hybrid Modular Multilevel Converter (HMMC) assembled from half-bridge and full-bridge sub-modules, is able to block DC faults with a minimum number of switching devices, which makes it attractive for high power applications. This paper introduces a control strategy based on the Root-Least Square (RLS) algorithm to estimate the capacitor voltages instead of using direct measurements. This action eliminates the need for voltage transducers in the HMMC sub-modules and the associated communication link with the central controller. In addition to capacitor voltage balancing and suppression of circulating currents, a fault tolerant control unit (FTCU) is integrated into the proposed strategy to modify the parameters of the HMMC controller. On advantage of the proposed FTCU is that it does not need extra components. Furthermore, a fault detection unit is adapted by utilizing a hybrid estimation scheme to detect sub-module faults. The behavior of the suggested technique is assessed using PSCAD offline simulations. In addition, it is validated using a real-time digital simulator connected to a real time controller under various normal and fault conditions. The proposed strategy shows robust performance in terms of accuracy and time response since it succeeds in stabilizing the HMMC under faults.

  • 본 논문에서는 Ka 대역 소형 레이다용 주파수합성기를 제안하였다. 제작된 주파수합성기는 시스템에서 요구하는 다양한 파형을 생성하고 고속의 파형 및 주파수 전환을 위해 DDS를 적용하였다. 소형화를 위해 Ku 대역에는 MMIC를 최대한 적용하여 Ka 대역 회로를 소형 집적화 하였고 파형발생부 과 주파수 상향 변환부를 하나의 모듈로하여 설계 제작하였다. 제안된 주파수합성기는 선형 주파수 변조 파형과 위상변조 가능한 주파수 변조 연속 파형 등 발생이 가능하고, 대역폭 1GHz, 주파수 전환 속도 $0.191{\mu}sec$, 1 kHz 오프셋(offset)에서 -89.16 dBc/Hz의 위상잡음, 불요파 -50.9 dBc가 측정되었다.

Input-Series-Output-Parallel Connected DC/DC Converter for a Photovoltaic PCS with High Efficiency under a Wide Load Range

  • This paper proposes an input-series-output-parallel connected ZVS full bridge converter with interleaved control for photovoltaic power conditioning systems (PV PCS). The input-series connection enables a fully modular power-system architecture, where low voltage and standard power modules can be connected in any combination at the input and/or at the output, to realize any given specifications. Further, the input-series connection enables the use of low-voltage MOSFETs that are optimized for a very low RDSON, thus, resulting in lower conduction losses. The system costs decrease due to the reduced current, and the volumes of the output filters due to the interleaving technique. A topology for a photovoltaic (PV) dc/dc converter that can dramatically reduce the power rating and increase the efficiency of a PV system by analyzing the PV module characteristics is proposed. The control scheme, consisting of an output voltage loop, a current loop and input voltage balancing loops, is proposed to achieve input voltage sharing and output current sharing. The total PV system is implemented for a 10-kW PV power conditioning system (PCS). This system has a dc/dc converter with a 3.6-kW power rating. It is only one-third of the total PV PCS power. A 3.6-kW prototype PV dc/dc converter is introduced to experimentally verify the proposed topology. In addition, experimental results show that the proposed topology exhibits good performance.

Flat TR용 페라이트 코아의 고주파 동작 특성 (Study on operating characteristics of Ferrite cores for Flat TR in high frequency)

  • In contrast to a conventional transformer, the flat transformer is made using a number of small ferrite cores. Two cores for transformer and one core for inductor, which composed one module. Many modules can be connected together to form a flat matrix transformer. This structural arrangement eliminates the single hot spot problem in conventional transformers and permits high current density pertains at high frequency. In this study, the ferrite magnetic cores of Mn-Zn system for the Flat transformer were manufactured and the electrical and magnetic characteristics of its tested. The power loss of sample FO2(Mn-Zn ferrite) sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ was $350kW/m^3$ in test conditions of 250kHz, 200mT and $100^{\circ}C$, which showed the good power loss property in high frequency. The power loss of FO2 samples has been studied as a function of magnetic flux density and frequency. Steinmetz exponent was 2.82 at 250kHz and 2.73 at 500kHz. These results illustrated the switching of power loss mechanism in ferrite core from hysteresis losses to eddy current losses or others.

  • MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching) 도메인의 경계에 위치하는 MPLS LER(Label Edge Router) 시스템은Ingress 또는 Egress 라우터로 동작하여 기존의 인터넷 망과의 접속 역할을 담당하는데, MPLS LER 시스템의 구성요소 중 포워딩 엔진(Forwarding Engine) 장치는 MPLS LER 시스템의 IP 패킷 처리 능력을 좌우하는 핵심적인 역할을 담당한다. MPLS 도메인 위에서 서비스가 이루어지는 가상 사설망(VPN)은 공공의 네트워크를 마치 자신의 사설망처럼 사용할 수 있고, MPLS LER 시스템의 성능에 따라 고 신뢰성 및 QoS 보장 등의 장점으로 인해 인트라넷 구축을 위한 최적의 수단으로 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전체 MPLS 도메인의 핵심적인 역할을 담당하는 MPLS LER 시스템의 라우팅 컨트롤러와 포워딩 엔진 장치 사이에서 효율적인 라우팅&포워딩 엔트리 제공 방안을 제안하고, 이를 기반으로 MPLS 망에서 IP VPN 지원 방안을 제안한다. 또한 제안한 방안에 따라 MPLS-VPN 서비스를 위해 MPLS-VPN 서비스 제어 기능부와 MPLS-VPN 동작 절차, VPN 그룹 구성 및 LSP 설정 절차를 설계한다.

하이브리드 전기자동차 구동용 전력변환장치 (Power Conversion Unit for Hybrid Electric Vehicles)

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 자동차용 전력변환 장치인 HDC(High side DC/DC Converter)와 MCU(Motor Control Unit)의 제어 전략과 설계 결과를 설명한다. MCU와 HDC가 차량용 부품임을 감안하여 그 설계의 관점을 출력밀도 향상과 신뢰성 확보에 두고 있다. 이를 위해 제어기로는 고성능의 MPC5554 CPU를 기반으로 설계하였고, 수동 소자인 인덕터와 커패시터도 효율 최적화의 관점에서 제작하였으며, 전력용 반도체로는 세미크론사의 자동차용 모듈인 Skim63을 사용하였다. 방열기관의 전산해석을 통해 최적의 방열모델을 선정하였고 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 타당성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 제어 전략과 각 부품의 성능은 실험벤치 및 실차 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 검증하였고 보완설계 과정을 통하여 신뢰성을 확보하였다.
