This paper presents a characteristics of horizontal swing angle in V type suspension string sets for 765kV T/L. The design of V type suspension string set does not differ from that of general string set for general towers, but it prevents instabilities from swing motion by the horizontal angle and by the wind pressure. We were designed specially 6 conductor yoke, arcing horn and earth horn. And we were decided to 550mm for a distance of strings. We were carried out characteristics of horizontal swing test and movement of mass center test for V-string sets of 400kN single, 300kN double and 400kN double. This products will be used for 765kV T/L of 1 circuit in suspension towers.

An out-of-step condition results from the loss of the synchronism of the generators. A disturbance in a power system causes the generator angle to oscillate. When there is a severe disturbance such as a heavy current fault loss of major generation or loss of a large block of load, the oscillation can be severe and even increase largely and finally the out-of-step condition may un. During the power swing and out-of-step conditions, the apparent impedance at a relay location changes, and the power flow also changes as the angle difference is varied. This paper presents a method to analyze the trajectory of complex power during a power swing and out-of-step condition. The trajectory of the complex power is analyzed when a power swings and a fault occurs. Moreover, the complex power is analyzed when the ratios between the voltages at both sides and the line impedances are changed. These methods are verified through simulation using the ATP/EMTP MODELS.

An effective swing trajectory of legged robots is different from the swing trajectories of humans or animals because of different dynamic characteristics. Therefore, it is important to find optimal parameters through experiments. This paper proposes a real-time nonlinear programming (RTNLP) method for optimization of the swing trajectory of the legged robot. For parameterization of the trajectory, the swing trajectory is approximated to parabolic and cubic spline curves. The robotic leg is position-controlled by a high-gain controller, and a cost function is selected such that the sum of the motor inputs and tracking errors at each joint is minimized. A simplified dynamic model is used to simulate the dynamics of a robotic leg. The purpose of the simulation is to find the feasibility of the optimization problem before an actual experiment occurs. Finally, an experiment is carried out on a real robotic leg with two degrees of freedom. For both the simulation and the experiment, the design variables converge to a feasible point, reducing the cost value.
The purpose of this study was to review the relevant literature about coaching and thereupon, survey the coaching methods used for golf lesson to reinterpret them and thereby, describe in view of kinetics the swing errors committed frequently by amateur golfers and suggest more scientific golf coaching methods. For this purpose, kinetic elements were divided into accuracy and power ones and therewith, the variables affecting such elements were identified. For this study, a total of 60 amateur golfer were sampled, and their swing forms were photographed with two high-speed digital cameras, and the resultant images were analyzed to determine the errors of each form kinetically, which would be analyzed again with the program V1-5000. The kinetic elements could be identified as accuracy, power and accuracy & power. Thus, setup and trajectory were classified into accuracy elements, while differences of inter-joint angles, cocking and delayed hitting. Lastly, timing and axial movement were classified into accuracy & power elements. Three errors were identified in association with setup. The errors related with trajectory elements accounted for most (6) of the 20 errors. Three errors were determined for inter-joint angle differences, and one error was associated with cocking and delayed hitting. Lastly, one error was classified into timing error, while five errors were associated with axial movement. Finally, as a result of arranging the errors into a cross table, it was found that the errors were associated with each other between take-back and back-swing, take-back and follow-through, back-swing and back-swing top, and between back-swing and down-swing. Namely, an error would lead to other error repeatedly. So, it is more effective to identify all the errors for every form and correct them comprehensively rather than single out the errors and correct them one by one.

The purposes of this study were to investigate kinematic parameters of racket head and upper extremities during squash back hand stroke and to provide quantitative data to the players. Five Korean elite male players were used as subjects in this study. To find out the swing motion of the players, the land-markers were attached to the segments of upper limb and 3-D motion analysis was performed. Orientation angles were also computed for angular movement of each segment. The results were as follows. 1) the average time of the back hand swing (downswing + follow-through) was 0.39s (0.24 s + 0.15 s). 2) for each event, the average racket velocity at impact was 11.17m/s and the velocity at the end of swing was 8.03m/s, which was the fastest swing speed after impact. Also, for each phase, 5.10m/s was found in down swing but 7.68m/s was found in follow-through. Racket swing speed was fastest after the impact but the swing speed was reduced in the follow-through phase. 3) in records of average of joints angle, shoulder angle was defined as the relative angle to the body. 1.04rad was found at end of back swing, 1.75rad at impact and it changes to 2.35 rad at the end of swing. Elbow angle was defined as the relative angle of forearm to upper arm. 1.73rad was found at top of backswing, 2.79rad at impact, and the angle was changed to 2.55rad at end of swing. Wrist angle was defined as the relative angle of hand to forearm. 2.48rad was found at top of backswing, 2.86rad at impact, and the angle changes to 1.96rad at end of swing. As a result, if the ball is to fly in the fastest speed, the body has to move in the order of trunk, shoulder, elbow and wrist (from proximal segment to distal segment). Thus, the flexibility of the wrist can be very important factor to increase ball speed as the last action of strong impact. In conclusion, the movement in order of the shoulder, elbow and the wrist decided the racket head speed and the standard deviations were increased as the motion was transferred from proximal to the distal segment due to the personal difference of swing arc. In particular, the use of wrist (snap) may change the output dramatically. Therefore, it was concluded that the flexible wrist movement in squash was very important factor to determine the direction and spin of the ball.

In line with current speed-up of railroad, a slab track has been increasingly adopted in a bid to secure the safety of track structure as well as to reduce the maintenance cost, and furthermore, the need for commercialization of domestically-developed swing-nose crossing turnout on slab track has been on the rise. For commercialization of swing-nose crossing turnout on slab which was developed in Korea, a technical and systematic performance evaluation system, considering local environment, shall be established and then the performance evaluation shall be accordingly implemented. This paper was intended to summarize the performance evaluation system, referring to the data available at home and abroad and the results of performance evaluation for domestically-developed swing-nose crossing turnout on slab track carried out to date based on that system. A performance evaluation system comprises the technical requirement appropriateness evaluation(component performance evaluation and design verification), laboratory test and on-site test. For domestically-developed swing-nose crossing turnout on slab track, appropriateness evaluation and laboratory test have been completed and the on-site test of those installed on the 2nd phase of Kyung-Bu HSR is underway now.

The reliable operation of a swing check valve in the main feed water system of a power plant is most essential for successful shout-down process. A failure to close the valve at proper time often leads to the instability of the main feed water system, or even to an emergency stop of the power plant. In reality it is a very difficult task to monitor the behavior of a swing check valve. Furthermore it is impossible to see the motion of the valve. In this work two measurements were carried out simultaneously to determine the precise valve closure time. The dynamic pressure measurements were made at the inlet and outlet regions of the swing check valve. The transient vibration of the valve housing in the direction of water flow was also measured, which enabled the measurement of the transient vibration of the valve housing near valve closure. By comparing the results produced from these measurements the precise valve closure time could be determined. By carrying out order tracking technique using the dynamic pressure signals and pump rpm signal, the complicated dynamic problems inside the main feed water system can be more easily dealt with. This measurement scheme might be implemented in a power plant on a real-time basis without much difficulty. If this could be implemented, valuable information essential for shut-down operations can readily be passed on to the main control room. The feasibility of this implementation was demonstrated by this experimental work.

The protection against transient instability and consequent out-of-step condition is a major concern for the utility industry. Unstable system may cause serious damage to system elements such as generators and transmission lines. Therefore, out-of-step detection is essential to operate a system safely. The detection of out-of-step is generally based upon the rate of movement of the apparent impedance. However such relay monitors only the apparent impedance which may not be sufficient to correctly detect all forms of out-of-step and cannot cope with out-of-step for a more complex type of instability such as very fast power swing. This paper presents the out-of-step detection algorithm using voltage frequency deviation. The digital filters based on discrete Fourier transforms (DFT) to calculate the frequency of a sinusoid voltage are used, and the generator angle is estimated using the deviation of the calculated frequency component of the voltage. The proposed out-of-step algorithm is based on the assessment of a transient stability using equal area criterion. The proposed out-of-step algorithm is verified and tested by using EMTP MODELS.
Purpose: From the perspective of biomechanics, joint moments quantitatively show a subject's ability to perform actions. In this study, the effect of normalization in the fast and asymmetric motions of a golf swing was investigated by applying three different normalization methods to the raw joint moment. Methods: The study included 13 subjects with no previous history of musculoskeletal diseases. Golf swing analyses were performed with six infrared cameras and two force plates. The majority of the raw peak joint moments showed a significant correlation at p < 0.05. Additionally, the resulting effects after applying body weight (BW), body weight multiplied by height (BWH), and body weight multiplied by leg length (BWL) normalization methods were analyzed through correlation and regression analysis. Results: The BW, BWH, and BWL normalization methods normalized 8, 10, and 11 peak joint moments out of 18, respectively. The best method for normalizing the golf swing was found to be the BWL method, which showed significant statistical differences. Several raw peak joint moments showed no significant correlation with measured anthropometrics, which was considered to be related to the muscle coordination that occurs in the swing of skilled professional golfers. Conclusions: The results of this study show that the BWL normalization method can effectively remove differences due to physical characteristics in the golf swing analysis.
Recently there have been many interests on tangible sport games that can recognize the motions of players. In this paper, we propose essential technologies required for tangible games, which are methods for swing motion recognition and the calculation of shuttle cock's trajectory. When a user carries out a badminton swing while holding a smartphone with his hand, the motion signal generated by smartphone-embedded acceleration sensors is transformed into a feature vector through a Daubechies filter, and then its swing type is recognized using a k-NN based method. The method for swing motion presented herein provides an advantage in a way that a player can enjoy tangible games without purchasing a commercial motion controller. Since a badminton shuttle cock has a particular flight trajectory due to the nature of its shape, it is not easy to calculate the trajectory of the shuttle cock using simple physics rules about force and velocity. In this paper, we propose a method for calculating the flight trajectory of a badminton shuttle cock in which the wind effect is considered.
