  • Horizontal-axes on the seismic section have been represented in a distance unit by applying horizontal-distance correction transformation on a 2-D seismic section of single channel marine seismic data. By drawing horizontal-axes in a distance unit, distortion of horizontal distances shown on the seismic section when the ship speed varies during a survey can be diminished considerably. Position information obtained by GPS and stored in each trace of seismic data as well as data collection windows were used for horizontal distance correction. The minimum window length was decided by considering ship speed and shot interval, and the maximum window length wat determined by reflecting radius of the 1st Fresnel zone. In choosing an optimum window length, horizontal resolution and stacking effect were considered simultaneously. By applying horizontal distance correction we could get a 2-D seismic section which is considered at reflecting the real subsurface structure analogously.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the diet of children under the government-funded meal support program. The 143 children (67 boys and 76 girls) participated in this study among $4^{th}-6^{th}$ elementary school students receiving free lunches during the summer vacation of 2007 and living in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, Korea. The subjects consisted of four groups supported by Meal Box Delivery (n = 26), Institutional Foodservice (n = 53), Restaurant Foodservice (n = 27), or Food Delivery (n = 37). A three-day 24-hour dietary recall and a self-administered survey were conducted. In addition, the children's heights and weights were measured. The average energy intake of the children was 1,400 kcal per day, much lower than the Estimated Energy Requirements of the pertinent age groups. The results also showed inadequate intake of all examined nutrients; of particular concern was the extremely low intake of calcium. On average, the children consumed eight dishes and 25 food items per day. The children supported by Meal Box Delivery consumed more various dishes and food items than the other groups. The percentage of children preferring their current meal support method was the highest in those supported by Meal Box Delivery and the lowest in those supported by Food Delivery. We requested 15 children among the 143 children participating in the survey to draw the scene of their lunch time. The drawings of the children supported by Institutional Foodservice showed more positive scenes than the other groups, especially in terms of human aspects. In conclusion, the overall diet of children under the government-funded meal support program was nutritionally inadequate, although the magnitude of the problems tended to differ by the meal support method. The results could be utilized as basic data for policy and programs regarding the government-funded meal support program for children from low-income families.

This study collected and analyzed the information of shapes through a direct contact survey to understand the breast figures and the measurements of bodies to provide basic information to improve brassiere production for adult females in China. Data was analyzed through a SAS 9.0. The characteristic of the final brassiere pattern that had been corrected and complemented from the results of the $l^{st},\;2^{nd},\;3^{rd}$, and $4^{th}$ fitting tests is defined as a brassiere inserted with a round wire that has the 3/4cup to wrap the bust area by about 3/4. It consists of an upper and lower nonwoven fabric cup that has a flat-shaped wing of a circular dart. The drawing method of the pattern of this brassiere is applied with the conditions to cover the body naturally under the diverse and organic relations of the material factor of stretch material and wire, functional factor, and sewing factor. The final pattern is created as a bigger angle of wing pattern and a short inner side diameter because there are more Chinese women with a back of bending figure compared to Korean women.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to advance the understanding of the relationship between host country image and cultural intelligence (CQ) on the attractiveness of expatriate destinations. Specifically, this study compares the different impacts of CQ on the relationship between host country image and subsidiary attractiveness by comparing a US-based subsidiary and a Vietnam-based one. Research design and methodology - A total of 445 Korean full-time workers responded through an online survey. The survey randomly showed the participants one of two conditions for a potential expatriate location. The participants were asked to answer a series of questions on the organizational attractiveness of the subsidiaries from the perspective of an expatriate candidate and respond to a series of questions on individual CQ. Results - Through a two-way ANOVA test, the results reveal that Korean expatriate candidates perceive that a Vietnam-based subsidiary is a less attractive destination for international assignment when compared to a US-based subsidiary. In addition, the positive moderating effect of cultural intelligence on the relationship between the host location and the subsidiary's attractiveness is stronger when Vietnam, rather than the US, is the assignment location. Conclusions - Drawing upon AUM theory, this study confirmed that unfavorable country image affects subsidiaries' attractiveness for expatriate candidates, due to anxiety. However, this study showed the role of employees' CQ to mitigate these challenges. This study suggests providing information on positive conditions of expatriate locations and building systematic process for enhancing individual CQ for organizations.
