3-D medical image reconstruction technique using computer simulation technology has been used in the knowledge of the anatomical features and the biomechanical characteristics with the advancement of computer hardware and software. Especially, the use of 3-D image reconstruction technique in orthopaedics demonstrates that this technique is useful to improve surgical technique as well as to help inform the knowledge of shoulder joint anatomy. The purpose of this article is to introduce the utilization of 3-D image technology in shoulder surgeries.

Arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder is regarded as a convenient and safe approach, but there is a possibility of complication during procedure. We report an isolated unilateral hypoglossal neurapraxia following combined arthroscopic and open Bankart reconstruction performed in beach-chair position under general anesthesia with orotracheal intubation.

Absence of long head of biceps tendon is a very rare anomaly. We encountered a 19 year-old male patient who had right shoulder subluxation. On magnetic resonance imaging, shallow intertubercular groove on right humerus was observed, and absence of long head of biceps tendon was discovered. Arthroscopically, labral rupture and absence of long head of biceps tendon were also evident. Left shoulder had a similar symptom as right 5 months after the initial development of the symptom on the right shoulder. Both MRI and arthroscopy revealed absence of long head of biceps tendon and labral ruptre. Arthroscopic labral repair was performed for both shoulders, and, postoperatively, they were fixated with abduction brace. In this case, it is considered that the absence of long head of biceps tendon triggered the instability of shoulder found in our patient.

Although arthroscopic surgery has been used conventionally, it has not been widely adopted yet due to the risks of complications, including nerve damage, technical difficulties, and limited indications. As shown in other joints, however, the use of an arthroscope will gradually increased in the elbow joint ('Arthroscopy always wins'). Herein, arthroscopic treatments and arthroscopic ulnar nerve decompression will be discussed in cases of elbow osteoarthritis.

We experienced rare cases of Snapping plicae on radiohumeral joint which arthoscopic plicae resection improved symptom of painful snapping elbow. We report that Arthroscopy can be used as a effective therapeutic and diagnostic method for snapping plicae on radiohumeral joint with a review of its literature.
