This study was carried out in order to reduce the installation expense of heating system for greenhouse comparing to geothermal heat pump and develope the coefficient of performance (COP) for a heat pump. For getting plenty of heat flux from geothermal energy. Surface water in river channel was used for getting a lots of geothermal heat by penetrating water through underground soil layer of the river bank that make heat transmission to passing water. The range of water temperature after the process of Ground filtration is 13~18 degrees celsius which is very similar to low heat source of geothermal heat pump system and the plenty amount of heat source from that make the number of geothermal heat exchanging hole and the expense for geothermal heat exchanger construction reduced. Drainage well is also used for returning filtration water to the aquifer that keep the water good recirculation from losing geothermal heat and water resource. For the COP improvement of Heat pump, thermal storage tank with separating insulation plate according to the temperature difference make the COP of Heat pump that is similar to thermal storage tank with diffuser. Developed thermal storage tank make construction expense cheaper than customarily used one's. and that sand filter and oxidation sand (FELOX) are going to be used for improving ground filtration water quality that make heat exchanger efficiency better. All above developed component skill are going to be set on the Ground filtration water source heat pump system and applied for medium, large scale for protected greenhouse in riverside area and on-site experiment is going to do for optimizing the heating system function and overcome the problem happening in the process of on-site application afterward.

In this study, a microorganism-produced protease was used to improve the quality of fabrics. First, the protease-producing bacteria were isolated from soils, and one of them was selected and identified as Bacillus sp. SJ-121. The optimal medium composition for its growth and protease production was determined to be as follows: glucose 1g/L, soybean meal 0.5g/L, soy peptone 0.5, $K_2HPO_4\;0.2,\;MgSO_4\cdot7H_2O\; 0.002,\;NaCl\;0.002,\;and\;Na_2CO_3g/L$. Also, the optimal temperature for the production of the protease by Bacillus sp. SJ-121 was about $40^{\circ}C$ at pH 7. The wool and silk were treated with the protease from Bacillus sp. SJ-121. Following the protease treatment, changes in the surface of a single yarn of the fabrics were observed by both an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Changes in the K/S value of the wool and silk were measured by spectrophotometric analysis, in order to determine the amount of dye uptake in the fabrics. We also performed a tensile strength examination in order to determine the degree and nature of mechanical changes in single yarns of the wool and silk fabrics. By increasing the protease treatment time to 48 h, the dyeing characteristics of the fabrics were enhanced, and the surfaces of the single yarns of the fabrics became smoother, due to the removal of soil and scale in them. However, no mechanical changes were detected in the fabrics. Therefore, we suggest that proper treatment of the protease produced by Bacillus sp. can improve the quality of silk and wool.
This paper describes a flow experiment and characteristics of heavy metals based on microfluidics, in order to improve the prefabricated vertical drain system that is possible pollutants removal and soil improvement in soft ground polluted with various pollutants, simultaneously. The result showed that the surface with hydrophobic condition affected large effect on flow velocity pollutants, and pH condition was also influence factor for change of flow velocity. Especially, the flow velocity of lead has risen slightly, when pH was close to basicity in complex heavy metal. This means that lead pollutant can reduce a hydrophobic characteristic in comparison with a copper pollutant.

Due to a decreasing tendency of river runoff in the Laohahe River basin in North China, quantitative analysis was made with the aid of the conceptual Xinanjiang model under the background of nature climate variability as well as human-induced climate change according to the long-term observational hydrometeorological data. In the past, the human effect on surface water resources was estimated by investigating the impact of human activities on each item in the equation of water balance, so as to calculate water quantity of each item in the original natural status. It seems to be clear conceptually. It is appropriate just for the case of direct impact, such as water transfer from one basin to another, water storage by various scales of hydraulic projects, besides a huge amount of investigation and indeterminate statistics data when applied in practice. It is difficult for us to compute directly water consumption due to the implementation of measures for soil conservation, the improvement of farming techniques in agriculture, the growth of population in towns and villages, and the change of socioeconomic structure. In view of such situation, the Xinanjiang model was used to separate human impact from the climatic impact on water resources. Quantitatively human activity made river runoff decrease by 1.02, 50.67, 58.06 mm in 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, respectively, while by 97.2 mm in 1990's in the sense of annual average in the Laohahe River basin.

Water pollution, which is caused by surfactants, is increased by insolubility and excessive uses of detergents. The detergency properties of nine kinds of amphoteric surfactants derived from imidazoline were investigated and compared with sodium lauryl sulfats(SLS) of petrochemical surfactant by using detergent formulations. Several physico-chemical properties were measured to investigate the effective factors on detergency. From the comparision of these compounds with SLS, it was found that 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1- (3-sulfonatedpropyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazolinum [IV] has the most outstnading characteristics of detergency and various fundamental properties. Therefore, this result is expected to do its environmental stability as a nonpolluting detergent. Detergency process of surfactants were discussed in relation to physico-chemical treatments. Performance improvement on detergency is made work of adhesion to soil as small as possible. Therefore these results show that contamination is easily removed and industrial applications may be respected.
Background: Monitoring terrestrial vegetation cover condition is important to evaluate its current condition and to identify potential vulnerabilities. Due to simplicity and low cost, point intercept method has been widely used in evaluating grassland surface and quantifying cover conditions. Field-based digital photography method is gaining popularity for the purpose of cover estimate, as it can reduce field time and enable additional analysis in the future. However, the caveats and uncertainty among field-based vegetation cover estimation methods is not well known, especially across a wide range of cover conditions. We compared cover estimates from point intercept and digital photography methods with varying sampling intensities (25, 49, and 100 points within an image), across 61 transects in typical steppe, forest steppe, and desert steppe in central Mongolia. We classified three photosynthetic groups of cover important to grassland ecosystem functioning: photosynthetic vegetation, non-photosynthetic vegetation, and bare soil. We also acquired normalized difference vegetation index from satellite image comparison with the field-based cover. Results: Photosynthetic vegetation estimates by point intercept method were correlated with normalized difference vegetation index, with improvement when non-photosynthetic vegetation was combined. For digital photography method, photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic vegetation estimates showed no correlation with normalized difference vegetation index, but combining of both showed moderate and significant correlation, which slightly increased with greater sampling intensity. Conclusions: Results imply that varying greenness is playing an important role in classification accuracy confusion. We suggest adopting measures to reduce observer bias and better distinguishing greenness levels in combination with multispectral indices to improve estimates on dry matter.
Since 2000 country region developmental policy has been to integrate not only the improvement of physical living environment but also various subjects on ecology, environment, scenery, local culture, and green tourism. This study has recently established a decentralized Rainwater Management plan in order to provide an hydrology cycle system to the eco-village being planned by Seocheon-gun as a part of the garden village development business promoted by the ministry of agriculture and forestry. Hydraulic conductivity of the subject area is measured at $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-10}m/sec$, and a flowerbed-type rainwater Infiltration system capable of controlling a non-point pollution source that stems from the development-caused impermeable surface has been applied. In the case of rainwater flowing out from the main entrance way and parking lot within the complex being treated in the flowerbed-type rainwater infiltration system, natural purification effects via soil and plants as well as natural water cycling effects through evaportranspiration and infiltration are expected. The significance of this study, compared to conventional decentralized rainwater management being applied limited to the urban areas, is that it offers appropriate rainwater management planning based on the analysis of the current situation of the subject area. Decentralized Rainwater Management is a valuable measure both economically and ecologically that reduces the burdens on local underground water cultivation as well as rain water pipe lines or purification systems, and sewage pipes.
In response spectrum analysis of pile-supported structure, an amplified seismic wave should be used as the input ground acceleration through the site-response analysis. However, each design standard uses different input ground acceleration criteria, which leads to confusion in determining the appropriate input ground acceleration. In this study, the ground accelerations were calculated through dynamic centrifuge model test, and the response spectrum analysis was performed using the calculated ground acceleration. Then, the moments derived from the test and analysis were compared, and a method for determining the appropriate input ground acceleration in response spectrum analysis was presented. Comparison of the experimental and simulated results reveals that modeling of the ground using elastic springs allows proper simulation of the natural period of the structure, and the use of a seismic wave that is amplified at the ground surface as the input ground acceleration provided the most accurate results for the response analysis of pile-supported structures in sands.
In this paper, a series of laboratory chamber tests were carried out to evaluate the applicability of a porous concrete pile fabricated with recycled aggregates (RAPP) for the soft ground improvement. While performing the laboratory chamber tests for the RAPP, the surface settlement, excess pore pressure and vertical stress distribution with time were compared with those of SCP provided by You (2003) under the same experimental condition. In addition, the experimental results were compared with the numerical simulation using ABAQUS in this study. The results show that the settlement reduction is significantly enhanced due to the stress-sharing mechanism between the RAPP and soil formation by stress concentration on the RAPP. Furthermore, the comparison of consolidation rate shows that the RAPP can accelerate consolidation as well, which behaves as a vertical drain.
The results of ground vegetation experiment conducted at completely denuded forestland in the mudstone region are summerized as follows: On the reaults of soiling quantity the effect of soiling was observed where depth of soiling over 10 cm was practiced, and a plot where treated with 15cm soiling and without fertilizer showed poor growth and it was even worser than the plot where soiling was practiced only 1 cm in thikness but applied adequate amount of fertilizers. The depth of slits between 30cm and 40cm showed no significant difference in the effect. A plot where covered with vegetation bag showed somewhat better results in seed loss and early growth but no differences observed in the fall result over the none covered plot. And then, it is recommendable to have soiling over 10cm in thikness with slit of 30cm and 30cm in depth and to apply 30 gram of fertilizer (22;22:11, 50 gram) per slit. On various soiling materials trial there were no striking differences in the effect of soiling between weathered granite soil, wheathered tuffs soil and weathered mudstone soil. In the treatment with various green materials, a plot treated with straw mat showed a significant difference at 1 percent. The results show that weathered mudstone soil is effective to use as soiling materials and straw mat treatment was better. On forest fertilization trial, in the mudstone region where red and black pine trees already existing at a rate of 2,000-3,000 trees per hectare had applied 110kg of compound fertilizers (9:12:3 and 22:22:11) per hectare basis in terms of plant nutrient. As a result, the difference in effect between the compound fertilizers was not found however the leaf color and leaf length of the fertilizer added plot showed darker and longer at 30 percent over the no fertilizer received plot. Compound fertilizers, 14:37:12 and 9:12:3 were applied to alder trees at a rate of 20 gram and 40 gram per tree in terms of plant nutrient and a remarkable growth accelerantion was observed where 40 grams of plant nutrient applied. The effect difference between the compound fertilizers was not found. On investigation of tree root elongation, forty years old red pine trees showed only 15cm tap root elongation through mudstone while black pine had 23 cm tap root elongation. The total length of supporting root elongtion of red and black pines showed 20 and 13 meters, respectively. The tap roots of Black locusts were not able to elongate through mudstone, however, the supporting roots tended to develop to the underneath of pine tree where some moisture content is available. Black locusts And grown on the residual soil of mudstone normally die between 8 to 10 years. The red pine trees show flat in tree shape while black pine had triangle in the shape. With the results it can be said that in an artificial reforestation in denuded forest land of the mudstone region the adequate slit and enough amount of fertiliizer application must be provided for the succesful performance of the program. On integrated experimental results of 1972. for the establishment of ground vegetation on the completely denuded forest land in mudstone region, soiling could be effectively practiced with weathered mudstone soil and it would not specially necessiate to have either weathered granite or tuffssoil for the soiling. And the soiling depth should be more than 10 cm in thickness. Among green materials used the straw mat proved to be the most effective reatment. Three major factors which enable to establish ground vegetation by the shortest period of time: A. Physical improvement of soil is necessary to breakdown of the horizontal cracks sushas Slit, contour line plot, seeding hole and etc., and soiling with weathered mudstone soil. B. Chemical improvement of soil: is needed sufficient amount of fertilizer application 300~400kg ha, $N+P_2O_5+K_2O$), and increased production of ground covering and expedite resolution of the vegetation (ground vegetation, fallen leaves and twigs).
