We studied the detection of the Hg(II) concentration in an aqueous solution using rhodamine dyes on citrate-reduced Au nanoparticles (NPs). The quenching effect from Au NPs was found to decrease as the Hg(II) concentration increased under our experimental conditions. As the fluorescence signals intensified, the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) intensities reduced on the contrary due to less rhodamine dyes on Au NPs as the Hg(II) concentration increased. The rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) and rhodamine 123 (Rh123) dyes were examined via fluorescence and SERS measurements depending on Hg(II) concentrations. Fast and easy fluorescence detection of an Hg (II) concentration as low as a few ppm could be achieved by naked eye using citrate-reduced Au NPs.
The grafting of methacrylonitrile(MAN) onto Kevlar 49 filament surface was carried out by anionic polymerization using sodium methylsulfinylcarbanion formed from sodium hydride and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). The effects of reaction conditions on the grafting percentage(GP) and on the tensile strength of the fiber were investgated. GP marktedly increased with increasing metalation time, and NaH concentration, polymerization temperature and time. The tensile strength of fiber decrased with increasing metalation time, and NaH concentration, polymerization temperature and time. The optimum conditions to increase over 40% of GP with below 10% reduction rate of tensile strength of fiber : NaH concentration ; 30.6 mmol/l/0.5g Kevlar, metalation time : 10min, polymerization tempera- ture : 5$0^{\circ}C$, polymerization time: 20 sec, monomer concentration : 1.12mol/l/0.5g Kevlar.

The purpose of study is to examine the sensitivity of the rate of degradation to initial TCE concentration and iron concentration in the solution. The batch tests were executed to assess the degradation rate at varying initial conditions. First order rate constants($k_a$) were more rapid with the lower initial TCE concentration, Howere the correleation was not always linear between $k_a$ and initial TCE concentration. $k_a$ was proportionally increased as the increasing surface area. It implied that the effective reactive surface area acted as the limiting factor on the reductive dechlorination of TCE by iron.
Analytical solutions of the reactant concentration inside porous spherical catalytic particles were obtained from unsteady reaction-diffusion equation by applying eigenfunction expansion method. Various surface concentrations as exponentially decaying or oscillating function were considered as boundary conditions to solve the unsteady partial differential equation as a function of radial distance and time. Dirac delta function was also used for the instantaneous injection of the reactant as the surface boundary condition to calculate average reactant concentration inside the particles as a function of time by Laplace transform. Besides spherical morphology, other geometries of particles, such as cylinder or slab, were considered to obtain the solution of the reaction-diffusion equation, and the results were compared with the solution in spherical coordinate. The concentration inside the particles based on calculation was compared with the bulk concentration of the reactant molecules measured by photocatalytic decomposition as a function of time.
A $Li[Co_{1/3}Ni_{1/3}Mn_{1/3}]O_2$ cathode was modified by applying a $ZrF_x$ coating. The surface-modified cathodes were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, TEM techniques. XRD patterns of $ZrF_x$-coated $Li[Co_{1/3}Ni_{1/3}Mn_{1/3}]O_2$ revealed that the coating did not affect the crystal structure of the parent powder. SEM and TEM images showed that $ZrF_x$ nano-particles were formed as a coating layer, and EDS data confirmed that $ZrF_x$ distributed uniformly on the surface the powder. Capacity retention of coated samples at high C rates was superior to that of pristine sample. However, as the coating concentration increases beyond the optimum concentration, the rate capability was deteriorated. Whereas, as the increase of coating concentration to 2.0 wt %, the cyclic performances of the electrodes under the severe conditions (high cut-off voltage, 4.8 V, and high measurement temperature, $55^{\circ}C$) were improved considerably.
n-type PERT (passivated emitter, rear totally diffused) bifacial solar cells with boron and phosphorus diffusion as p+ emitter and n+ BSF (back surface field) have attracted significant research interest recently. In this work, the influences of wafer thickness, bulk lifetime, emitter, BSF on the photovoltaic characteristics of solar cells are discussed. The performance of the solar cell is determined by using one-dimensional solar cell simulation software PC1D. The simulation results show that the key role of the BSF is to decrease the surface doping concentration reducing the recombination and thus, increasing the cell efficiency. A lightly phosphorus doped BSF (LD BSF) was experimentally optimized to get low surface dopant concentration for n type bifacial solar cells. Pre-oxidation combined with a multi-plateau drive-in, using limited source diffusion was carried out before pre-deposition. It could reduce the surface dopant concentration with minimal impact on the sheet resistance.
Pseudomonas sp. SW1 grew and produced biosurfactants on 3% hexadecane as the energy and carbon source. As a result of biosurfactant synthesis, the surface tension of the medium was reduced from 72 dyne/cm to 30 dyne/cm. The properties of biosurfactants that were purified from Pseudomonas sp. SW1 were investigated. The purification procedure included acid precipitation from culture supernatant, silica gel G60 column chromatography, and Sephadex G-150 gel filtration. The biosurfactants were separated into two different types, viz., types I and II. Biosurfactant type Isignificantly reduced the surface tension of water from 72 to 27 dyne/cm at concentration levels above 30 mg/l. The surface tension of water was reduced to a minimum of approximately 30 dyne/cm by biosurfactant type II at concentration levels over 80 mg/l. The biosurfactants were effective in a wide range of pHs, at NaCl concentrations of up to 4%, at $CaCl_2$ concentration up to 100 mM, and at temperatures up to $200^{\circ}C$ for 8 h.

In this study, by using oleic acid and polypropylene glycol, good natured antifoaming agent for suitable electronics process under the alkaline conditions were synthesized. For the synthesized mono and diesters, acid value, hydroxyl value was measured, and identified by FT-IR and $^1H-NMR$ spectroscopy. Surface properties such as surface tension, critical micelle concentration(cmc) for diluted aqueous solution was measured, and tested the antifoaming properties according to the difference of alkyl chain length, various concentration, temperature and pH. The surface tension of synthesized antifoaming agent, PPMO(Polypropylene glycol monooleate) was 24.3 dyne/cm, PPDO(Polypropylene glycol dioleate) was 23.7 dyne/cm. By increasing of the alkyl chain length, surface tension was decreased slightly, and showed good antifoaming properties at 0.06 wt% concentration and $50^{\circ}C$, pH 11. These synthesized compounds are expected to apply as a suitable antifoaming agents in the semiconductor and the PCB(Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing process.
Purpose: To evaluate bone formation on the implant surface between machined fixture and RBM surface fixture through analyzing of distribution and concentration of Ca and P by EPMA. Material and Methods: Fixtures had divided in 2 group: Machined(Group I), RBM (Group II). Total 4 fixtures were implanted on rabbit which sacrificed on 2 week and 4 week for the histological specimens. By these specimens EPMA value were measured, compared and analysed by each group to figure out the evidence of clinical use of RBM implant. Result: After 2 weeks and 4 weeks, it was analyzed that bone formation area, distribution and concentration of Ca and P by EPMA. In distribution and concentration of P Group II was higher than Group I, but there were no statistical significances. In new bone formation area, Group II was more higher than Group I with statistically significances. Both of group, after 4 weeks area is little bit higher than after 2 weeks area but there is no statistically significances. Conclusion: RBM implant was better than machined implant on the early bone formation.

In this paper, the optimum condition of (110) Si etching with the potassium hydroxide(KOH) etchant is presented. Although several researches on (110) Si anisotropic etching have been studied, there has been lack of effects of mask quality and etching conditions on the selectivity and the roughness o the etched surface. Three kinds of masks (film, emulsion and E-beam mask) were used in order to verify the effect of etching properties. Anisotropic bulk etching depends on the crystalline orientation and the concentration and temperature of the etchant. In order to investigate the effect of etching conditions on selectivity and the roughness of the etched surface, the concentration of the etchant was varied from 35 to 45 per cent in weight with increments by 5 per cent and the temperature was changed from 70 to 90$^{\circ}C$ with increments by 10$^{\circ}C$. The combination of the temperature of 70$^{\circ}C$ and the concentration of 40wt.% was found to be the optimum etching condition for high selectivity. Etched surfaces show minimum surfaces show minimum surface roughness at a temperature of 80$^{\circ}C$ and a concentation of 40wt.%. Comb structures with various comb widths were fabricated and the lengths of the combs wree measured with several etching time durations. A micro comb structure 525$\mu\textrm{m}$ high was fabricated for MEMS application.
