흑백 사진의 재질 분석 - 보로부두르 사진을 중심으로 - (Material Analysis of Black and White Photograph - Photograph from Borobudur -)

  • 인도네시아 보로부두르 보존처리소에서 촬영한 보로부두르 사원 흑백 사진의 재질 특성을 조사하기 위해 과학적 분석을 수행하였다. 흑백 사진에서 시료를 채취하여 현미경 조사, 성분 및 재질 분석을 진행한 결과 흑백 사진은 지지체, 바리타층, 바인더층, 표면층 등 4개의 층으로 구성되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 지지체는 마섬유로 구성된 종이, 바리타층은 분말상태의 황산바륨(BaSO4), 바인더층은 할로겐화은이 함유된 유제, 표면보호층은 젤라틴을 사용하여 제작된 것으로 판단하였다. 사진은 구성 재질에 따라 특성 및 보존 환경이 다르므로 시대에 따른 다양한 흑백 사진 재질 특성에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the important loads related with crack-growth in aircraft. Al Alloys mainly used in aircraft are Al2024 and Al7075 in Duralumin. In random fatigue loading, it has been understood crack-growth characteristic using fractured surface photograph by SEM. In order to obtained CTOD, we measured a crack size in wing frame part. As a result of fatigue experiment that accumulating plenty of fatigue loadings, we find more cracks than that produces in the same fatigue loading. The important loads relating to crack-growth was found in the largest strain cycle. Applying strain block in fatigue experiment, it is actually loading in connection of aircraft. In conclusion, These results can be used for preventing an accident owing fatigue-fracture in aircraft.

  • 초음속 부족팽창제트가 충돌할 때 유동장은 매우 복잡한 유동구조를 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 음속노즐 출구 직경의 1.5배 거리에 경사각 $60^{\cire}$~$90^{\cire}$로 설치된 평판에 미치는 초음속 제트에 대해 쉴릴렌 장치를 이용하여 유동구조를 가시화 하였으며, 평판 위에 작용하는 압력분포를 측정하였고 감열지를 이용하여 평판 표면 유동을 가시화하여 기존의 연구결과와 비교하였다. 연구결과 간단한 방법으로 저마하수에서의 평판 유동을 가시화 할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 충돌제트의 유동구조를 규명하였다.

  • Flame spreading over liquid fuel surface has been investigated using thermocouple and schlieren photograph. Without forced convection, it was clearly found that the flame spreading is mainly controlled by surface flow which is maybe generated by change of surface tension. Furthermore, the radiative heat transfer is dominant over a conductive heat transfer in kerosene. But the latter was found more influential than the former in diesel. Oscillation of flame spreading was found. It maybe cause of surface flow.

프랙탈을 이용한 ZnO 바리스터 표면 구조 및 전기적 특성 (The Structure and Electrical Characteristics of ZnO Varistors Surface using-Fractal)

  • The structural properties that SEM photograph of ZnO varistors surface studied by fractal mathematics program were investigated to verify the relations of electrical characteristics. The SEM photograph of ZnO varistors surface were changed by binary code and the grain shape of that were analyzed by fractal dimension. The void of ZnO varistors surface was found by fractal program. The relation between grain density and electrical properties depend on fractal dimension. The grain size in ZnO varistors surface was decreased by increasing of Sb$_2$O$_3$ addition. The spinel structure was formed by Sb$_2$O$_3$addition and it was depressed the ZnO grain formation. The grain size of ZnO by Sb$_2$O$_3$addition were from 5 to 10[${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$]. Among of ZnO varistors, fractal dimension of ZnO4 was very high as a 1.764. The density of grain boundary in ZnO2 and ZnO3 varistors surface was 15[%] by formed spinal structure. The breakdown electric field of ZnO2 that fractal dimension has 1.752 was very high to be 8.5[kV/cm]. When the fractal dimensin was high, the grain shape of ZnO varistors was complex and the serial layers of ZnO grain was increased.

AFM을 이용한 발전소용 저압 터빈 블레이드의 파손해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Failure Analysis of Low Pressure Turbine Blade in Nuclear Plant using AFM)

  • Turbine blade in nuclear plant is subject to cyclic bending fatigue by high steam pressure. Especially, fatigue fracture is caused by low stress below yielding stress. Photograph by SEM doesn't have striation but photograph by AFM has striation on the fatigue fractured surface of 12% Cr steel used in turbine blade. Surface roughness $R_q$ has the linear relation with respect to stress intensity factor range ΔK and is increased linearly according to load amplitude $\textit{\Delta}P$. In this study loading condition applied to turbine blade is predicted by the relation between the gradient of $R_q$ to $\textit{\Delta}K$ and load amplitude $\textit{\Delta}P$.

  • Turbine blade is subject to force of three types ; the torsional force by torsional mount, the centrifugal force by the rotation of rotor and the cyclic bending force by steam pressure. The cyclic bending force was a main factor on fatigue strength. SEM fractography in root of turbine blade showed micro-clack width was not dependent on stress intensity factor range. Especially, fatigue did not exist on SEM photograph in root of turbine blade. To clear out the fracture mechanism of turbine blade, nanofractography was needed on 3-dimensional crack initiation and crack growth with high magnification. Fatigue striation partially existed on AFM photograph in root of turbine blade. Therefore, to find a fracture mechanism of the torsion-mounted blade in nuclear power plant, the relation between stress intensity factor range and surface roughness measured by AFM was estimated, and then the load amplitude ΔP applied to turbine blade was predicted exactly by root mean square roughness.

  • The structural properties of varistors surface studied by fractal phenomenon were investigated to verify the relations of electrical characteristics. The SEM photograph of varistors surface were changed by binary code and the grain shape of that were analyzed by fractal dimension. The void of varistors surface was found by fractal program. The relation between grain density and electrical properties depend on fractal dimension. The grain size in varistors surface was decreased by increasing of oxide antimony addition. The grain size of devices by oxide antimony addition were from 5 to $10[{\mu}m]$. The fractal dimension and electrical properties of varistors surface was related to between grain boundary and grain density. The grain size was decreased by increasing of fractal dimensions.

상대재의 거칠기에 따른 GF/PUR 복합재료의 연삭마모거동 (Behavior of abrasive wear on counterpart roughness of glass fiber reinforcement polyurethane resin composites)

  • The behavior of abrasive wear on counterpart roughness of glass fiber reinforcement polyurethane resin (GF/PUR) composites were investigated at ambient temperature by pin-on-disc friction test. The friction coefficient, cumulative wear volume and surface roughness of these materials against SiC abrasive paper were determined experimentally. The major failure mechanisms were lapping layers, ploughing, delamination, deformation of resin and cracking by scanning electric microscopy (SEM) photograph of the tested surface. As increasing the counterpart roughness the GF/PUR composites indicated higher friction coefficient. The surface roughness of the GF/PUR composites was increased as the sliding velocity was higher and the counterpart roughness was rougher in wear test.

  • The characteristics of abrasive wear on sliding speed of glass fiber reinforcement (GF/PUR) composites were investigated at ambient temperature by pin-on-disc friction test.
