  • This study examined the predictive power of data mining algorithms by comparing the performance of logistic regression and decision tree algorithm, called CHAID (Chi-squared Automatic Interaction Detection), On the contrary to the previous studies, decision tree performed better than logistic regression. We have also developed a CDSS (Clinical Decision Support System) with three modules (doctor, nurse, and patient) based on data warehouse architecture. Data warehouse collects and integrates relevant information from various databases from hospital information system (HIS ). This system can help improve decision making capability of doctors and improve accessibility of educational material for patients.

  • In this paper, we suggest an XML Development Support(XDS) System as a good developing tool to solve the problems that related with the database integration, increased to the developing terms and costs when the developing of XML programming base on the web server. XDS System is designed for the purpose of easily coding the XML program, of simply changing the programming structure and of completely maintaining the program environment. According to the predefined policy, XDS System provides necessary informations such as tables, columns, or relational keys from Database for developer. The developer step by step selects or sets what he needs. And XDS System creates an XML Tree with the result of selected information. The XML Tree includes all information of making an XML Schema and some XML Stylesheet. XDS System creates an XML Schema for all clients and creates many XML Stylesheets for each client using the XML Tree.

  • Logistic Support Analysis(LSA) and Logistic Supportability Review must be carried out as soon as possible in development stage in order to minimize operation/maintenance cost that head the list of weapon cost and improve logistic supportability of the weapon system. And the result must be used for hardware designs to set up to be able to input to the system design and logistic support elements. Therefore Logistic Support Elements must be planed/developed/supplied with the main combat system concurrently and performance and logistic supportability of the comabat system had better be improved mutually. This report describes maintenance concept changes of weapon systems, fault diagnosis function and test equipment state on the domestic MBT(main battle tank). And then it presents application and intensification of itself fault diagnosis system for a domestic future MBT considering connection with IETM(Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) and TE(Test Equipment).

  • Fuzzy-CBR Collision Avoidance Support System is a system that finds a solution from past knowledge retrieved from the database and adapted to a new situation. Its algorithm has resulted to an adapting a solution for a new situation. However, ontology is needed in identifying concepts, relations and instances that are involved in a situation in order to improve and facilitate the efficient retrieval of similar cases from the CBR database. This paper proposes the way to apply ontology for identifying the concepts involved in a new environment and use them as inputs, for a ship collision avoidance support system., Similarity will be obtained through document articulation and using abstraction levels. A conceptual model of a maneuvering situation will be built using these ontologies.

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe the design of the decision support system for container terminal ship planning and to introduce the implemented system. The ship planning in container terminals consists of three major decision processes -the working schedule of gantry cranes the discharging sequence of inbound containers the loading position and sequence of outbound containers. For making these decision the proposed system can provide two ship planning modes the interactive planning mode with user-friendly GUI and the automated planning made. To implement the automated planning routine we acquired the planning rules from the expert planner in container terminals and developed an expert system based on the rules. Finally we evaluated the system developed and the potential for commercialization by using container terminal data.

  • The cogeneration system has a advantage of producing electrical and thermal energy simultaneously. therefore, this system is encouragable to the business proprietor and the nation like us which has the problem of limited energy. Presently, there is a few cogeneration system for new city and industrial complex. But the building cogeneration system is dull in application because of legal limitation and poor tax support. In this paper, we simulate economic propriety of the building system under the support which is applied to industrial system. And we simulate the effect of each support item on the economic propriety in aspect of payback period.

  • The objective of this paper is to suggest a decision support system allowing automatic loading and discharging planning for tanker ships, and provide a working prototype. Particular attention is placed on developing a feasible system for improving the speed and accuracy of cargo planning by combining practice and theoretical solution methods. The system is consisted of a simulation model for tank allocation and an expert system for working sequence. Several program tests are undertaken with randomly generated input data. The results suggest that the system is quite meaningful even though there are still some problems to be solved. The paper concludes with a discussion of issues for future development of the decision support system.

  • The business incubator is a useful system to help start-up companies, providing various supporting systems from the technical supporting system to human resources supporting system. This article investigates the moderating effect of technical support and competence support of business incubators' on the relationship between founder's experiences and performance of the company. A total 201 sample were used to empirically test the hypotheses. The results of the study partially supported the hypotheses, implying the needs of specific supporting systems for start-ups. Managerial implications are also discussed.

  • The National Emergency Management Agency of South Korea has established a Disaster Victims Psychology Support Center. The Disaster Victims Psychology Support Center can enable victims who got psychological damage from disasters to return to their daily lives through healing activity, field visits and advice of experts. The previous Psychology Support Center System managed the information of disaster victims through an independent database. However, this paper proposes a system that is developed to identify medical institutions and mental health centers within a distance of radius, based on the potential Hot-Spot areas of disaster victims using the GIS Systems. The proposed system can efficiently support selection of appropriate institutions for disaster victims using their location and age, classification of damage, and damaged parts of the body. Also, this spatial analysis can assist to decide on a policy based on the location of disaster victims and the extent of damage. Therefore, this paper can provide the required information to support decision making based on the concentrated areas for disaster victims.

  • Purpose: Recent weapon systems in defense have increased the complexity and importance of software when developing multifunctional equipment. In this study, we analyze the accuracy of the proposed software reliability model when applied to weapon systems. Methods: Determine the similarity between software reliability analysis results (prediction/estimation) utilizing data from developing weapon systems and system failures data during operation of weapon systems. Results: In case of a software reliability prediction model, the predicted failure rate was higher than the actual failure rate, and the estimation model was consistent with actual failure history data. Conclusion: The software prediction model needs to adjust the variables that are appropriate for the domestic weapon system environment. As the reliability of software is increasingly important in the defense industry, continuous efforts are needed to ensure accurate reliability analysis in the development of weapon systems.
