  • PURPOSE: The present study examines how feedback respiratory exercise affects gait performance of stroke patients. METHODS: Forty stroke patients were randomly divided into an experiment group and a control group. For the former group, patients went through a half-hour of training therapy and a half-hour of feedback respiratory device exercise. For the latter group, patients went through 30 minutes of training therapy and a half-hour of motomed exercise. All participants had five training sessions each week for four weeks. For measurement, a GAITRite system was used to examine spatial parameters, and functional ambulation performance before and after the training. RESULT: In terms of spatial parameters, double support ratio, stance phase increased significantly in the experiment group after the walking exercise(p<.05). FAP rose more significantly in the experiment group than in the control group(p<.05). In comparison of two exercise groups, double support ratio, Stance phase, gait velocity, FAP was significant difference(p<.05). CONCLUSION: The experiment results showed that feedback respiratory exercise is effective in enhancing gait performance.

  • Based on Smart Phone, this study added and implemented the mobile App to the existing IT agriculture system, which system automatically controlled green house's growth environment. Because the mobile App characterfully possesses high portability, limited resource, mobile wireless network support, enterprise mobile computing support, etc., the hybrid-App should be inevitably adopted. The hybrid App can minimize resource consumption for performing related duties and also, in spite of the mobile device's limits, it can derive high performance, in which facts the system can ensure the service-based architecture's reliance and also, implements the highly sophisticated functionality as well. Through the proposed system, the study expects to contribute to improve quality of life as well as to increase farmer's income through IT-based agriculture system development.

  • Nuclear infrastructure systems play an important role in national security. The functions and missions of nuclear infrastructure systems are vital to government, businesses, society and citizen's lives. It is crucial to design nuclear infrastructure for scalability, reliability and robustness. To do this, we can use machine learning, which is a state of the art technology used in various fields ranging from voice recognition, Internet of Things (IoT) device management and autonomous vehicles. In this paper, we propose to design and develop a machine learning algorithm to perform predictive maintenance of nuclear infrastructure. Support vector machine and logistic regression algorithms will be used to perform the prediction. These machine learning techniques have been used to explore and compare rare events that could occur in nuclear infrastructure. As per our literature review, support vector machines provide better performance metrics. In this paper, we have performed parameter optimization for both algorithms mentioned. Existing research has been done in conditions with a great volume of data, but this paper presents a novel approach to correlate nuclear infrastructure data samples where the density of probability is very low. This paper also identifies the respective motivations and distinguishes between benefits and drawbacks of the selected machine learning algorithms.

  • Recent advancements in network infrastructures provide increased opportunities to support data delivery over multiple paths. Compared with multi-homing scenario, overlay network is regarded as an effective way to construct multiple paths between end devices without any change on the underlying network. Exploiting multipath characteristics has been explored for TCP with multi-homing device, but the corresponding exploration with overlay network has not been studied in detail yet. Motivated by improving quality of experience (QoE) for reliable data delivery, we propose a multipath message transport protocol based on application level relay (MPMTP-AR). MPMTP-AR proposes mechanisms and algorithms to support basic operations of multipath transmission. Dynamic feedback provides a foundation to distribute reasonable load to each path. Common source decrease (CSD) takes the load weight of the path with congestion into consideration to adjust congestion window. MPMTP-AR uses two-level sending buffer to ensure independence between paths and utilizes two-level receiving buffer to improve queuing performance. Finally, the MPMTP-AR is implemented on the Linux platform and evaluated by comprehensive experiments.

  • Recently, mobile users continuously increase, and mobile applications also increase As mobile applications increase, the mobile users used to store sensitive and private information such as Bank information, location information, ID, password on their mobile devices. Therefore, recent malicious application targeted to mobile device instead of PC environment is increasing. In particular, since the Android is an open platform and includes security vulnerabilities, attackers prefer this environment. This paper analyzes the performance of malware detection system applying linear SVM machine learning classifier to detect Android malware application. This paper also performs feature selection in order to improve detection performance.

  • Due to the complicated steel structure and safety concern, it is very difficult to deploy wireless networks in power plants. This paper presents a hybrid network, named as $P^2HYMN$ (Power Plant HYbrid Maintenance Network), encompassing PLC (Power Line Communication), TLC (Telephone Line Communication), and Wireless LAN. The design goal of $P^2HYMN$ is to integrate multimedia data such as design drawings of control equipment, process data, and video image data for maintenance operation in electric power plants. A Multiplex Line Communication (MLC) device was designed and implemented to integrate PLC, TLC, and Wireless LAN into $P^2HYMN$. Performance test of $P^2HYMN$ has been conducted on a testbed under various conditions. The throughput of TLC was shown as 39 Mbps. Because the bandwidth requirement per camera is 8.5 Mbps on average, TLC is expected to support more thant four video camera at the same time.

  • In this paper, a gaze estimation method is proposed for use with a large-sized display at a distance. Our research has the following four novelties: this is the first study on gaze-tracking for large-sized displays and large Z (viewing) distances; our gaze-tracking accuracy is not affected by head movements since the proposed method tracks the head by using a near infrared camera and an infrared light-emitting diode; the threshold for local binarization of the pupil area is adaptively determined by using a p-tile method based on circular edge detection irrespective of the eyelid or eyelash shadows; and accurate gaze position is calculated by using two support vector regressions without complicated calibrations for the camera, display, and user's eyes, in which the gaze positions and head movements are used as feature values. The root mean square error of gaze detection is calculated as $0.79^{\circ}$ for a 30-inch screen.

  • Extra-corporeal Life Support System (ECLS) is the device used in emergency cases to substitute a extracorporeal circulation in open heart surgery, cardiac arrest or in acute cardiopulmonary failure. To obtain the effect of counter-pulsation on hemodynamic response in the ECLS quantitatively, we developed cardiovascular model which consists of 12 compartment model of heldt et al. and 3 compartment model of Schreiner et al. based on windkessel approximation. We compared coronary perfusion, arterial pulse pressure, cardiac output, and left ventricular pressure-volume diagram according to flow configuration such as counter-pulsation, copulsation, and continous flow. When counter-pulsation was applied, 5% higher coronary perfusion, 26% lower pulse pressure, and 2% higher cardiac output than copulsation condition were calculated. We conclude that counter-pulsation configuration in the ECLS is hemodynamically more stable than copulsation and influences the positive effect to recover ventricles.

  • The development of mobile Internet services allows more consumers to adopt smartphones as their primary communication device. This study focused on the application of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to determine the willingness of batik and textile craftsmen to use smartphones. The population of this study was batik and textile craftsmen in the Bayat, Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia. A total sample of 243 people had answered 30 questions on the questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale. The results of data analysis using GSCA software showed that, from eight hypotheses proposed, two hypotheses had not been supported. Technical support was not significant for the ease-of-use. It is because the damage experienced can be easily resolved by a repair shop. The findings reinforce the importance of training during the implementation of new technology. This training can make the users understand how to use new technology. The findings of this study strengthen the theory of TAM. Management support further influences the usefulness. This finding supports the theory of Igbaria technology acceptance. However, social influence did not significant influence the usefulness. This was because this study was conducted when the smartphone was no longer said to be a new technology.
