  • In a global market environment with information technology, the textile and apparel industry tries to survive by having competitive power embedded in Supply Chain Management to improve the interrelation among different stages of industries such as fiber, textile, apparel manufacturing, and retailing. The purpose of this empirical study was to investigate performance on Supply Chain Management of textile firms such as 4 textile export firms and 10 collaborate firms which were adopted SCM system. For research methodology, we developed questionnaires based upon interview and literature review. The results of this study were as follows: There were neutral responses or somewhat dissatisfactions on SCM application from CEOs, CMOs, site workers, and collaborators, but over half of respondents indicated 21-40% improvement of affairs. Standard documents and information sharing of SCM system were salient effects. SCM system with standard documents improved receipts/payments and inventory management most.

  • Supply chain management can be defined as an information system that connects the inside and outside of a company. Its purpose is to systematically and strategically manage the flow of information, resources and services to improve the long-term performance of the entire organization, including individual companies connected to the supply chain, and the quality of service provided to customers. The ultimate goal of SCM is to create synergy through organic integration of supply and demand based on cooperation and collaboration with stakeholders in the supply chain. This study is based on the hypothesis that the company's management performance will improve as the level of SCM improves. Most of the previous studies dealt with the relationship between corporate performance and SCM in the IT area. In this study, research was conducted through human capacity with IT system. The causal relationship was demonstrated, and there was a difference in the perception of the results of this study depending on whether or not smart factories were consulted in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. There is a need to examine the links between management's value chain and its causal relationship.

  • Purpose: The revenue sharing contract has been used in various industries and it is expected to coordinate the individual companies' operations in a way to improve the whole supply chain performance. This study evaluates the performance of the revenue sharing contract to find out whether this contract achieves its original goal, the supply chain coordination. Research design, data, and methodology: The profit optimization models are developed to represent two stage supply chain system with a supplier and a buyer. By using the numerical examples of the proposed mathematical models, this study examines whether this supply chain contract coordinates the supply chain system. Results: The numerical examples show that the revenue sharing contract does not make the same supply chain profit as the centralized system does. With the proper combination of the wholesale price discount rate and revenue share ratio, both manufacturer and retailer can obtain increased profits from the revenue sharing contract. Conclusions: The outcomes of the numerical analysis imply that the revenue sharing certainly improves the supply chain performance but it does not fully coordinate the supply chain system. By controlling the wholesale price and revenue share ratio, every supply chain member can be beneficiaries of this supply chain contract.

  • This paper examined the impact of supply chain partnership attributes on the SCM performance. For this, relationship commitment, trust, and collaboration were used as attributes for the supply chain partnership. Also the SCM performance was measured by supply chain integration, customer responsiveness, and supplier performance. Based on the statistical analysis of the sample of Korean corporations, it was found that relationship commitment and trust were shown to be significant factors influencing the collaboration. In addition, the collaborative supply chain partnership has a significant positive influences on the SCM performance. These result, in short, supported the importance of supply chain partnership for the successful SCM.

  • We consider a two-tier supply chain with multiplicative random yield. We focus on the supply chain performance with respect to the control scheme of determining the production lot size. The profit loss due to distributed control is analyzed to give an insight for devising efficient supply contracts.

  • The purpose of the present study is to analyze how and to what degree multinational companies organize and operate their supply chains in accordance with the strategic resource of knowledge in their multinational management, and what kind of influence knowledge oriented global supply chain management has on the management performance of multinational corporations. For this purpose, the current research proposed a measurement model to provide specific shape to the concept of knowledge oriented global supply chain management by adopting the knowledge creation process proposed by Nonaka (1994), and conducted an empirical analysis of what kind of impact the knowledge management system and the knowledge creation process of companies have on the performance of their global supply chain management. The result of the empirical analysis of 113 multinational companies verified the validity and reliability of the measurement model proposed in this study. In addition, the comparative study of the sampled companies by grouping them according to the level of knowledge orientation in global supply chain management indicated that the enterprises that effectively manage the knowledge created within the global supply chain presented overall superiority on the performance of global supply chain management.

  • The purpose of this study is that analyzing the causal relationship between Infra, Process and Performance of companies which are executing the Supply Chain Quality Management(SCQM) with their subcontractors and partners. Korean Standards Association(KSA) provides the Supply Chain Quality Management Model and Quality Collaboration Index for 4 years, but a few study has investigated the critical variables and their causal relationship to organizational performance. Therefore we examine the SCQM model and related index and choose the quality, human resource and risk management processes for identifying the path to organizational performance. In addition, exploratory factor analysis is conducted for figuring out the major factors among the 3 processes. Structural Equation Model are successively used for determining which characteristics of the infra and processes are the most critical variables to performance. The data was collected from KSA and composed of 52 companies and 346 their partners. The result shows that risk management process has no significant effect on the organizational performance and pre-production process collaboration.

  • Purpose: This study empirically investigates the effect of collaborative communication and information sharing on the supply chain performance of South Korean pharmaceutical companies. Specifically, it understands the importance collaborative communication and suggests a method for investigating communication in academic research on the pharmaceutical industry. Investigating this sector is crucial because the importance of the pharmaceutical industry is increasing globally against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic. Research design, data, and methodology: A questionnaire was administered to employees of South Korean pharmaceutical companies and 244 valid responses were used for the statistical analysis. Additionally, structural equation modeling was used to measure the relationships between the observed and latent variables. Results: Collaborative communication has a positive effect on information sharing. However, information sharing, unlike collaborative communication, does not exhibit a significant positive relationship with supply chain performance. These results indicate that it is important to communicate effectively in the supply chain rather than strive for the right type of information sharing. Conclusions: Consumers and retailers within the supply chain should continue to strive for candid communication. This study is meaningful, as it empirically tests the relationships between collaborative communication, information sharing, and supply chain performance in the South Korean pharmaceutical industry.

  • Due to the rapid development of manufacturing and information technology, traditional supply chain scheme has been changed dramatically Most companies have been forced to relocate or redesign their logistics network in different countries. A supply chain partnership is a relationship formed between two independent members in supply chain through information sharing to achieve specific objectives and benefits in terms of reductions in total costs and inventories. This study illustrates the benefits of supply chain partnerships based on information sharing and lead-time patterns. We consider three level of information sharing: (1) immediate order information; (2) demand information; (3) inventory information. Given a fixed total lead-time, how lead-time distribution will affect the bullwhip effect and inventory cost under information sharing strategies. The results can help improving supply chain performance and selecting suitable direction for the re-configuration of supply chain network.

  • This study examines the effects of supply chain search and application strategies on organizational capability and corporate operational performance. To achieve this aim, a survey was administered to middle managers of 298 small- and medium-sized venture companies in Busan, South Korea. Empirical analysis showed that supply chain search and application strategies have a positive effect on organizational capability and corporate operational performance. In addition, organizational capability is positively mediated by supply chain search and application strategies in terms of the mediating effect of corporate operational performance. Consequently, search and application as supply chain strategies are facilitating factors as mediators that improve corporate performance through the concentration of organizational capability. Findings suggest that the search and application of supply chain strategies need to act as accelerating variables that improve organizational performance, and supply chain strategies need to be applied in small- and medium-sized manufacturing businesses.
