The facial asymmetries include maxillary, mandibular, and chin asymmetries, although the most common deformity is primarily in the mandible. Common causes of this type of asymmetry can include asymmetric growth of the condyle or the mandible. In these patients, the location of the Me would be deviated to the shorter side because of the asymmetric growth of the mandible, and, commonly, the maxillary occlusal plane would be tilted toward the deviated side because the maxilla likely grows asymmetrically according to the pattern of asymmetric mandibular growth. Three-dimensional CT images are ideal for evaluating the size and location of anatomic structures, and such reconstructed images allow the use of software that can show anatomic structures from numerous angles, allowing actual measurements of distances and angles without problems of magnification, distortion, or superimposition caused by 2-dimensional imaging. In the present study using 3D-CT imaging, the 8 parameters, including measurements of the upper midline deviation, maxillary canting in the canine and first molar regions, width of the upper arch, width of the mandible at the Go, vertical length of the ramus, inclination of the ramus, and deviation of the Me were easily measured. The dentition should be orthodontically decompensated and dental midline should ensure incisor midlines positioned in the midline of each jaw before surgical correction. Surgical correction could be considered such as canting or yawing correction in the frontal or horizontal aspect, respectively.

Response surface methodology was used to monitor the characteristics of Corni fructus. A maximum electron donating ability of 81.27% was obtained at 119.71 W of microwave power, 7.71% of ethanol concentration, and 4.21 min of extraction time. The maximum inhibitory effect on tyrosinase was 105.92% at 143.36 W of microwave power, 58.19% ethanol concentration, and 6.71 min of extraction time. The maximum superoxide dismutase like activity was 87.08% under the extraction conditions of 107.33 W of microwave power, 96.14% ethanol concentration, and 31.49 min of extraction time. The total polyphenol content showed a maximum of 475.86 mg% at 140.29 W of microwave power, 27.44% ethanol concentration, and 58.69 min of extraction time. Based on the superimposition of four-dimensional RSM data regarding the electron-donating ability, inhibitory effect on tyrosinase, superoxide dismutase like activity, and total polyphenol content, the optimum ranges of extraction conditions were found to be at 78~98 W of microwave power, 3~33% ethanol concentration, and 3.6~9 min of extraction time.

The purpose of this article is to re-examine the roentgenographic appearance of alveolar osseous in an effort to determine the value of the orthopantomogram in the diagnosis of periodontal disease. A total of 158 osseous lesions from 13 human dry skulls were studied. 14 Ultra-speed periapical films, 2 bitewing films and Kodak panoramic film are used to obtain radiographs of all defects. The bisecting technic was used, with a target-film distance of. 8 inches and exposure factors of 70 kVp, 10MA and 0.4 sec. at anterior teeth, 0.6 see at posterior teeth in exposure time. For orthopantomogram, Panoura Eight-C was used with a exposure factors of 90kVp, 10MA. and 15sec. exposure time. All films were developed in a light. tight darkroom at 68°F for 4½ minutes. Comparison of orthopantomogram and intraoral films on the view-box was carefully studied in relation to the types of osseous defect visually evident; Proximal intraosseous defects, Interproximal craters, Interproximal hemisepta, Furcal defects on multirooted teeth, and Facial or Lingual one-walled defects. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Proximal osseous defects throughout the dental arches and furcal defects on facial and lingual surfaces of multirooted teeth can be identified with a high degree of accuracy from their orthopantomographic appearances. 2. Lesions on facial or lingual surface of the alveolar arches are rather difficult to locate or recognize on the dental radiographs. 3. In determining whether the proximal and furcal lesions are located facially or lingually, Orthopantomogram is superior to the conventional film Orthopantomogram obtained with standardization of head in proper position revealed the complete visualization of alveolar bone without showing occlusal surface of molars and proximal superimposition of teeth. Thus, on the standardized orthopantomograms, The roentgenographic characteristics of each defect were determined.
The nature is the foundation of human life and arts, and human beings have found order and principle amid ceaseless change and harmonization of the nature and diversified patterns and directly or indirectly applied the nature to interior through discovered principles. Interior space to which the organic factors of the nature is an expression of the vitality of the nature and expresses live forms as seen in change, development and growth of living organisms in addition to human feelings. The study aims to recognize the necessity of studies on interior space to which organic expressive characteristics of the nature are applied in uniformed space, suggest expressive characteristics and propose needed basic data required at a time of designing interior space. In this regard, the study has examined works by five contemporary designers including Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid, Fabio Novembre and Nox with an aim to analyze expressive characteristics of interior design and figure expressive characteristics of organic design found in interior space. According to analyses on preceding literary studies and case studies (14 places), it has been found that organic expressive characteristics in interior space include vision, tactile sensation and auditory sense in terms of sensitivity, immateriality in terms of a property of matter, metaphor and abstraction in terms of the form of natural objects and non-linear curves and free curves in organic design. Organic spaces were characterized by symbolism, directionality, continuity, pattern and superimposition. This conclusion is expected to be useful in subsequent studies on the application of organic expressive characteristic factors at a time of planning interior space in the future.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate canal shaping ability and canal angulation change of K-file, straight endosonic K-file and pre curved endosonic K-file. Twenty staight canals and thirty curved canals were selected and divided into five groups according to canals curvature and canal instrumentation method. VI group was prepared by straight endosonic K-file and H1 group by K-file in straigt canals. V2 group was instrumented by straight endosonic K-file, V3 group by pre curved endosonic K-file and H2 group by precurved K-file in curved canals. Radiographs of canals were obtained before and after canal shaping. And postoperative radiographs were compared with preoperative radiographs using superimposition method. The results obtained were as follows ; l. In straight canals, K-file group demonstrated lager percentage of canal enlargement than endosonic K-file group on facial view, but reverse results exhibit on mesial view. 2. In curved canals, precurved K-file group showed largest percentage of canal enlargement, followed by precurved endosonic K-fine group and straight endosonic K-file group was smallest. 3. Percantage of canal enlargement at convex side was greater than at concave side in apical portion of each group. Especially in straight endosonic K-file group, percantage of canal enlargement at convex side and concave side showed sharply difference. 4. In angulation change, the straight endosonic K-file group exhibited the greatest its change, followed by precurved endosonic K-file group and precurved K-file group was the least. Above results suggest that K-file is more effective endodontic instrument than endosonic K-file, and that precurved file is effective for canal shaping in curved canal.
Maintaining the original canal path during instrumentation is a challenge in narrow curved canals. This study compared the maintenance of the original canal path of curved root canals during instrumentation with two kinds of stainless steel K-files(Brassler USA & Mani Japan), K-flexofiles(Maillefer Swiss) and Ni-Ti files(Brassler USA, Savannah, GA) using circumferential filing technique to # 40 MAF on 60 extracted human molars. Buccal and mesial canals with minimal initial curvature of 20 degrees were used. The maximal initial curvature was 41.5 degrees. Sixty curved canals divided into four groups according to file type(Group 1 : Ni-Ti file, Group 2 : K-flexofile, Group 3: K-file(Brassler), Group 4 : K-file(Mani)). Radiographs of canals were obtained before and after canal shaping. And postoperative radiographs were compared with preoperative radiographs using superimposition method. Data analysis was performed using Covariance analysis and paired-comparison test. The results observed were as follow ; 1. The angle of curvature was better maintained with Ni-Ti file than with stainless steel files. (p<0.01) 2. There was no significant difference in maintaining canal curvature between K-flexofile, Brassler$^{(R)}$ K-file and Mani$^{(R)}$ K-file, although there was some differences in mean values of postoperative canal curvature. 3. Paired-comparison t test revealed significant differences within each of the three stainless steel file types when comparing the mean differences before and after instrumentation, but no significant differences were observed within Ni-Ti file group.
The aim of this study was to establish selective hepatic artery catheterization technique through percutaneous femoral artery puncture and to offer digital subtraction angiography (DSA) of hepatic artery in beagle dogs. Percutaneous femoral artery puncture was performed with Sheldinger's method. Microferret$^{TM}$-18 Infusion catheter(William, Cook, Europe) was introduced into abdominal aorta. Then, under fluoroscopy, iopamidol 370(Bracco, Italy) was injected to identify celiac artery and 'J' shaped guide wire was introduced into celiac artery. Catheter could be introduced into celiac artery through guide wire. In this manner, catheter was located at the insertion of hepatic artery and DSA was performed. In DSA of beagle dogs, hepatic artery which was divided into lateral branch, right-medial branch, right-lateral branch of hepatic artery, cystic artery and gastroduodenal artery was opacified without superimposition of any other body structure and so was the parenchyme of liver afterward. In autopsy angiographic finding of resected liver, cystic artery, caudate branch, lateral branch, right-medial branch, right-lateral branch and quadrate branch of hepatic artery were identified. It was concluded that selective hepatic artery catheterization technique was a minimally invasive method that facillitated the approach of hepatic artery and DSA was an excellent tool to visualize the vessle of liver in dogs.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the coordinates of anatomical landmarks on cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) images in varied head positions before and after reorientation using image analysis software. Materials and Methods: CBCT images were taken in a normal position and four varied head positions using a dry skull marked with 3 points where gutta percha was fixed. In each of the five radiographic images, reference points were set, 20 anatomical landmarks were identified, and each set of coordinates was calculated. Coordinates in the images from the normally positioned head were compared with those in the images obtained from varied head positions using statistical methods. Post-reorientation coordinates calculated using a three-dimensional image analysis program were also compared to the reference coordinates. Results: In the original images, statistically significant differences were found between coordinates in the normal-position and varied-position images. However, post-reorientation, no statistically significant differences were found between coordinates in the normal-position and varied-position images. Conclusion: The changes in head position impacted the coordinates of the anatomical landmarks in three-dimensional images. However, reorientation using image analysis software allowed accurate superimposition onto the reference positions.

An absolutely passive fit at the interface with the superstructure and the abutment cylinders is need for implant longevity. In this study, a method of cast framework correction using spark erosion technology was evaluated. Electric discharge machining(EDM) is a process that uses electrical discharges, or sparks, to machine metal, The surface being machined is bombared with high-intensity electrical energy pulses that gradually melt away the stock until the desired configuration is obtained. Master model was fabricated by using metal block impression analogue, which fired 5 Branemark squared impression coping in an arc shaped metal block. Then framework using 4mm standard gold cylinder and type IV gold alloy was fabricated. In order to measure the fit of the framework we used both contact and noncontact coordinate measurement machine and data was processed by computer program. After superimposition of gold framework and master model numeric image data the distances between gold cylinder bearing surfaces and abutment replica bearing surfaces, and the angle deviations between gold cylinder and abutment replica centroid points were calculated. The results were as follows 1 The total mean distance (p<0.01) and standard deviation (p<0.001) between the gold cylinders and abutment bearing surfaces were significantly decreased after EDM 2. The total mean of maximum distances was significantly decreased after EDM (p<0.05). 3. After EDM, the mean angle deviation between centroid points was decreased.

A fuel spiking test was performed to measure the surge margin of the compressor in a gas turbine engine. During the test, fuel spiking signal was superimposed on the engine controller demand and the mixed signals were used to control a fuel line servo-valve. For the superimposition, a subsystem composed of a fuel controller and a function generator was used. During the fuel spiking test, the original scheduled fuel signals and the modified signals were compared to guarantee the consistency excluding the spiking signals. The spiking signals were carefully selected to maintain the engine speed constant. The fuel spiking effects were checked by three dynamic pressure sensors. Sensors were placed before the servo-valve, after the servo-valve, and after the compressor location, respectively. The modulations of the spiking signal duration and fuel flow rate were examined to make the- operating point approach the surge region. The real engine test was performed at the Altitude Engine Test Facility (AETF) in Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). In the real engine test, fuel spiking signals with 25~50 ㎳ of spiking signal time and 17~46 % of base fuel flow rate condition were used. The dithering signal was 5~6 ㎃ at 490 Hz. The test results showed good agreement between the fuel spiking signals and the fuel line pressure signals. Also, the compressor discharge pressure signals showed fuel spiking effects and the changes of the operating point on the compressor characteristic map could be traced.
