  • In recent years, grinding techniques for precision machining of stainless steel used in shaft, screw parts and clear value have been improved by using the superabrasive wheel and precision grinding machine. The completion of optimum dressing of superabrasive wheel makes possible the effective precision grinding of stainless steel. However, the present dressing system cannot have control of optimum dressing of the superabrasive wheel. In this study, a new system and the grinding mechanism of optimum in-process dressing of superabrasive wheel. Therefore, the optimum in-process electrolytic dressing is a good method to obtain the efficiency and mirror-like grinding of stainless steel (STS304)

  • 본 연구에서는 새로운 연속 전해드레싱 시스템을 구축하고 현재 전자재료로 널리 사용되고 있는 훼라이트에 대하여, 경면연삭을 실현하기 위한 제반 연삭조건 즉, 전해액의 영향, 파크전류와 펄스폭의 영향, 전해드레싱과 취성파괴와의 관계 등을 규명하였다.

  • In recent years, grinding techniques for precision machining of brittle materials used in electric, optical and magnetic parts have been improved by using superabrasive wheel and precision grinding machine. But the present dressing system cannot have control of optimum dressing of the superabrasive wheel. This study has proposed a new optimum in-process electrolytic dressing system.   • Ferrite is widely used in the material of magnetic head, but is difficult of grinding because of their brittleness and hardness. Therefore, diamond wheel with superabrasive is required for surface grinding of this brittle material. But the conventional dressing method can not apply to the diamond wheel with superabrasive. In this study describes a newly proposed method for carrying out effective inprocess dressing of diamond wheel with superabrasive. Using the IEDD the surface roughness of workpiece was improved and grinding force was very low. Resently IEDD is good method to obtain the efficiency grinding and surface grinding of brittle materials.

  • The objective of this study is to optimize the responses of the creep feed ceramic grinding process simultaneously by an off-1ine multicriteria optimization methodology. The responses considered as objectives are material removal rate, flexural strength, normal grinding force, workpiece surface roughness and grinder power. Alumina material was ground by the creep feed grinding mode using superabrasive grinding wheels. The process variables optimized for the above objectives include grinding wheel specification, such as bond type, mesh size, and grit concentration, and grinding process parameters, such as depth of cut and feed rate. A weighting method transforms the multi-objective problem into a single-objective programming format and then, by parametric variation of weights, the set of non-dominated optimum solutions are obtained. Finally, the multi-objective optimization methodology was tested by a sensitivity analysis to check the stability of the model.

  • Chipping is an unavoidable phenomenon in the slot grinding process of hard and brittle materials. However, it should be reduced for the improvement of surface integrity in the manufacture of optical and semiconductor components. Electrolytic In-process Dressing (ELID) technique for metal bonded superabrasive grinding wheel has been developed for mirror surface grinding of hard and brittle materials. Electrically dressed wheel surface has sharply exposed abrasives and results in lower grinding force, higher grinding efficiency in grinding. The paper deals with a newly developed method for slot grinding using ELID and was implemented to improve grooved surface quality and decreases chipping size on the edge of the groove. As a result, we accomplished chipping-free grooves and obtained the clear ground surfaces on glass and WC.
