An Experimental Study on the Evaluation of the Compactness of Super-High Strength Concrete for CFT structure (CFT 구조용 초고강도 콘크리트의 충전성 평가를 위한 실험적 연구)

  • Concrete Filled steel Tube pipe structure is a rational type of structure that maximizes performance by combining the strong points of steel frame and concrete. In the structure, the confining effect of steel pipes increases the bearing power of infilled concrete and the strengthening of local bucking of steel pipes by infilled concrete increases the bearing power of members. and these result in the reduction of cross-sectional area and high transformation capacity. Moreover. the structure is economically efficient and widely applicable that it is used from super-high buildings to residential, business and apartment buildings. It enables the construction of multi-story buildings with long spans using columns of small cross-sectional area. In case of diaphragm, however, it is difficult to confirm the compactness of the closed inside of steel pipes. The present study examined the properties of super-high strength concrete over 80MPa by comparing it with 40MPa concrete through heat conductivity and length change tests based on a mixture ratio satisfying the mixture goal presented in the guideline for the design and construction of concrete-filled steel pipe structure. and evaluated the performance of super-high strength concrete according to the shape and size of the aperture ratio of diaphragm.

A Study on the quality of High Early Strength Concrete as Whitetopping Materials (Whitetopping 포장재의 시험포설 및 시공품질에 대한 평가연구)

  • In road pavements, it is known that cement concrete pavement has superior durability. But in repairing pavement, cement concrete pavement is not usually applied because of the length of time while the road is interrupted when using Ordinary and Rapid-hardening Portland Cement. And Super High Early Strength Cement and Ultra Super High Early Strength Cement are not favorable for ready mixed concrete because of rapid setting time, high slump loss and other restrictions. We developed special cement developing 1 day strength of over 30.0N/$mm^2$ to open the road within 1 day and workable time is maintained over 1 hour so that it can be used as ready mixed concrete. We performed experimental overlay construction with concrete and evaluated the properties of the fresh and hardened concrete. The flexural strength was over 5.0N/$mm^2$ and the compressive strength was over 30N/$mm^2$ at 1 day. So it is thought that the road can be open to traffic within 1 day after placement.

  • In this study, the properties of super flowing cocrete containing gly ash were experimentally investigated and compared with those of ordinary concrete. Tests were carried out on five types of super flowing concrete mixes containing fly ash and three types of ordinary concrete mixes without fly ash. Flow test, O-funnel test, box test, Ltype thest and slump test were carried out to obtain the properties for the workability of fresh concrete. Compressime strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity. creep and shrinkage test were also obtained as the mechanical properties of hardened concrete. In fresh concrete, it was found that super flowing concrete had excellent workability and flowability compared with ordinary concrete, and the volume ratio of coarse aggregate to concrete volume greatly influenced flowability. Super flowing concrete also had good mechanical properties at both early and late ages with compressive strengths reaching as high as 40 MPa at 28 days. The creep deformation of super flowing concrete investigated were relatively lower than that of ordinary concrete.

But in reparing pavement cement concrete pavement is not usually applied because of the length of time while the road is interrupted when using Ordinary and Rapid-hardening Portland Cement. And Super High Early Strength Cement and Ultra Super High Early Strength Cement are not favorable for ready mixied concrete because of rapid setting time, high slump loss and other restrictions. We aim to develope specific cement and concrete developing 1 day strength of over 300 kg/$cm^{2}$ to open the road within one day and workable time is maintained over 1 hour that can be used as ready mixed concrete. In this study, we Produced cement using rapid-hardening cement, Hauyne clinker, anhydride gypsum and accelerator and studied on its properties. The concrete strength was over 300 kg/$cm^{2}$ at 1 day and 550 kg/$cm^{2}$ at 28 day and workable time was maintained for over 1 hour.

We performed experimental overlay construction with the cement and evaluated the mechanical property and the durability. At curing temperature of 8-l8$^{\circ}C$,the flexural strength was 6.4N/mm$^2$at 1 day, so that the road can be open to traffic within 1 day. In durability test, the hardened concrete showed higher durability than Portland cement concrete.

  • We carried out the feasibility study of super early self compacting concrete having the characteristics of 1 day demoulding without steam curing, high flowable concrete with self compacting, high strength and high durability etc. Here, We test and selected by several methods using high early cement with and without admixtures for the condition of super early strength self compacting concrete's manufacture (SSCC). we sucessed to meet at the goal of SSCC with 20-35N/mm$^2$ at 1 day, without steam curing and with slump flow about 60-65cm. We continue to search the effectual conditions of SSCC's manufacture by changing mix designs, several of admixture (superplasticizer, stabilising agent), slag, fly ash, high early cement and apply the products for practical use.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality characteristics of concrete using super plasticizer which is on the market within the country. For this purpose, nine kinds of super plasticizer are compared and analyzed for the slump , air content, unit weight, water-reducing percent and ratios of compressive strength with admixture content. As a result, the optimum quantity of admixture content were obtaining for ordinary and high strength concrete using super plasticizer.

  • Super high strength concrete tends to have compact tissue structure, and to have large reduction of volume by hydration reaction or large shrinkage by autogenous shrinkage. Thus, this study conducted basic research on the control of autogenous shrinkage of super high strength concrete using gypseous expansive additive.
