단계적 후보 축소에 의한 예제기반 초해상도 영상복원을 위한 고속 패치 검색 (Fast Patch Retrieval for Example-based Super Resolution by Multi-phase Candidate Reduction)

  • 예제기반 초해상도 영상복원은 영상 패치의 대한 학습 및 검색을 통해 저해상도 영상으로부터 고해상도 영상을 복원하는 방법으로써 성능이 좋고 한 장의 저해상도 영상에 대하여도 적용 가능하다. 그러나 복원 과정에서 패치 검색에 많은 비교 연산이 요구되기 때문에 속도가 매우 느리다. 복원 속도를 향상시키기 위해서는 효과적인 패치 검색 알고리즘이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 패치 검색에 사용 가능한 다양한 고차원 특징 검색 방법들을 실제 초해상도 영상복원 시스템에 적용하여 그 성능을 비교하였다. 또한 문자 인식 분야에서 성공적으로 적용되어왔으나 초해상도 영상복원에서는 사용되지 않았던 단계적 후보축소 방법을 패치 검색 단계에 적용할 것을 제안한다. 실험 결과 기존의 방법 중에서는 LSH가 가장 좋은성능을 나타내었다. 본 논문에서 제안한 단계적 후보 축소에 의한 패치 검색 방법은 LSH보다 더욱 우수하여 $1024{\times}1024$ 영상의 복원 시 LSH보다 최대 3.12배 빠른 복원 속도를 나타내었다.

  • In a full digital implementation of a current regulator, the voltage output is inevitably delayed due to arithmetic calculation and PWM. In case of the synchronous frame current regulator, the time delay is accompanied by the rotation of frame. In some applications in which the ratio of sampling frequency to output frequency is not high enough, such as high power drive or super high-speed drive, it is known that the effect of rotation of frame during the delay time causes phase and magnitude error in the voltage output. The error degrades the dynamic performance and can bring about the instability of current regulator at high speed. It is also intuitively known that advancing the phase of voltage output can mitigate the instability. In this paper, the instability problems are studied analytically and a compensation method for the error has been proposed. By means of computer simulation and complex root locus analysis, comparative study with conventional methods is carried out and the effectiveness of proposed method is verified.

  • 내진 설계되지 않은 일경간-이층 철골조의 면진에 사용될 적층 고무베어링과 납-고무 베어링을 설계하여 철골조와 기초 사이에 이 면진장치들을 적용하여 지진파들에 대한 내진 성능 평가를 행하였다. 이들 면진장치들을 사용하면 철골조의 내진성능이 향상된다. 특히 적층 고무베어링의 중앙에 원통형 납을 삽입함으로써 초기강성을 증가시켜, 빈번한 사용하중 하에서 구조물에 발생하는 비교적 과도한 횡변위를 구속할 수 있으며, 강한 지진파에 대해서는 이 납이 항복함으로써 에너지 소산능력을 향상시킨다.

  • This paper describes the implementation of the vector control schemes for a variable-speed 131kW PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) in super-high speed application. The vector control with synchronous reference frame current regulator has been implemented with the challenging requirements such as the extremely low stator inductance$(28^{\mu}H)$, the high dc link voltage(600V) and the high excitation frequency(1.2kHz). Because the conventional position sensor is not reliable in super-high speed, a vector control scheme without any position sensor has been proposed. The proposed sensorless algorithm is implemented by processing the output voltage of the PI current regulator, and hence the structure is simple and the estimated speed is robust to the measurement noise. The experimental system has been built and the proposed control has been implemented and evaluated. The test result, up to the speed of 60,000 r/min, shows the validity of the proposed control.

보안시스템을 위한 실시간 저해상도 얼굴 인식 알고리즘 (Real-time Low-Resolution Face Recognition Algorithm for Surveillance Systems)

  • 본 논문은 초고해상도 기법을 이용한 실시간 저해상도 얼굴 인식 시스템을 제안한다. 기존의 비대면 얼굴인식은 거리에 따라 해상도가 저하되면서 얼굴인식의 성능이 저하되는 한계가 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 초고해상도 기법에 대한 연구도 진행되었으나 비대면 얼굴인식 전 과정에 대한 통합적인 설계에 관한 연구는 미흡하다. 제안한 비대면 얼굴인식은 저해상도 영상으로 키프레임 검출, 얼굴검출, 초고해상도 기법, 특징추출 및 얼굴인식 결과까지 약 2초 이내에 수행함으로써 먼 거리에서도 비대면 얼굴인식의 성능을 향상하였다. 다양한 형태의 영상에 대한 실험을 통해 제안한 방법은 기존 방법에 비해 실시간 및 성능측면에서 저해상도 얼굴 인식이 우수함을 확인하였다.

  • In accordance with global energy conservation policies such as MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standard), electric motor industry is moving to super-high-efficiency machines and research to develop IE4 (International Energy Efficiency Class 4) motors has been launched. In this situation, SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in place of induction motor which hardly provides super premium efficiency. As a result, much research on SynRM is being performed at home and abroad. Also, some products have already been appearing in the market. Compared to induction motor, SynRM has better efficiency per unit area and wider operating range. Although the utilization of control system in synchronous motor results in higher prices, we still need to concentrate on developments of SynRM so as to comply with the new policies. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of super premium SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor. We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress anlaysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our 3 models.

강성저감을 고려한 플랫슬래브 구조물의 지진해석 (Seismic Analysis of Flat Slab Structures considering Stiffness Degradation)

  • Flat slab system has been adopted in many buildings constructed recently because of the advantage of reduced floor heights to meet the economical and architectural demands. Structural engineers commonly use the equivalent frame method(EFM) with equivalent beams proposed by Jacob S. Grossman in practical engineering for the analysis of flat slab structures. However, in many cases, when it is difficult to use the EFM, it is necessary to use a refined finite element model for an accurate analysis. But it would take significant amount of computational time and memory if the entire building structure were subdivided into a finer mesh. An efficient analytical method is proposed in this study to obtain accurate results in significantly reduced computational time. The proposed method employs super elements developed using the matrix condensation technique and fictitious beams are used in the development of super elements to enforce the compatibility at the interfaces of super elements. The stiffness degradation of flat slab system considered in the EFM was taken into account by reducing the elastic modulus of floor slabs in this study. Static and dynamic analyses of example structures were peformed and the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method were verified by comparing the results with those of the refined finite element model and the EFM.

Generation of high cadence SDO/AIA images using a video frame interpolation method, SuperSloMo

  • We generate new intermediate images between observed consecutive solar images using NVIDIA's SuperSloMo that is a novel video interpolation method. This technique creates intermediate frames between two successive frames to form a coherent video sequence for both spatially and temporally. By using SuperSloMo, we create 600 images (12-second interval) using the observed 121 SDO/AIA 304 Å images (1-minute interval) of a filament eruption event on December 3, 2012. We compare the generated images with the original 12-second images. For the generated 480 images the correlation coefficient (CC), the relative error (R1), and the normalized mean square error (R2) are 0.99, 0.40, and 0.86, respectively. We construct a video made of the generated images and find a smoother erupting movement. In addition, we generate nonexistent 2.4-second interval images using the original 12-second interval images, showing slow motions in the eruption. We will discuss possible applications of this method.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a new row signal modulation method in order to display multi-gray image using super-twisted nematic liquid crystal display (STN-LCD), which has no complex computation, high selection ratio, and low driving voltage. By the proposed method, we have implemented a 320*240, 8-gray video-rate STN-LCD. For achieving a video-rate STN-LCD, 6 lines are selected at a time. Each row line is selected 8 times by equally distributed pulses throughout one frame. As a result, we can get 8 gray, video-rate image. The repetive horizontal pattern and the filckering was analyzed and the improvements have been presented.

  • Recently, an irregular-shaped super tall building has been increased, aiming toward landmarks of cityscape. However, the complex floor plan derived from an irregular shape requires considerable resources including time, cost, and effort to meet complex structural framework. Based on the motivation, the study proposes a table-form system that is variable slab form appropriate to an irregular shaped floor through improving limitations of an existing table-form system. The variable table-form is expected to reduce construction resources and improve constructability on an irregular floor plan of super tall buildings as well.
