  • Melt super-heating which promotes shape modification of ${\beta}$ intermetallic compounds was conducted to improve mechanical properties of recycled AC2B aluminum alloy. Modification of needle-shape ${\beta}$ intermetallic compounds was effective for the specimens of AC2B aluminum alloys containing 0.85wt.% Fe by melt super-heating, in which the melts had been held at $850^{\circ}C$ or $950^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes respectively. Owing to the modification of needle-shape of ${\beta}$ intermetallic compounds by melt superheating of the alloy with containing 0.85wt.% Fe to $950^{\circ}C$, increases in elongation and tensile strength were prominent to be more than double and 55% respectively in comparison with the melt heated to $740^{\circ}C$. Moreover, modification of needle-shape ${\beta}$ intermetallic compounds in the alloy containing O.85wt.% Fe by $950^{\circ}C$ melt super-heating led to 48% improvement of the value of impact absorbed energy as compared with the melt heated to $740^{\circ}C$.

  • The residential space of super high-rise buildings, having a form of a huge three-dimensional vertical city, affect the residents psychologically and qualitatively according to the line of flow. Because of these affects, the system of the line of flows is a very important factor. In this study, we recognize the super high-rise apartment's line of flow as a semantic network system based on case studies. And we also understand the mutual relationship by analyzing each space to recognize what effect it does on the residential environment. Furthermore, to bring up a better semantic network system for super high-rise apartment's line of flows is our goal. According to the case studies, the semantic network of the line of flow consists of 3 parts: the functional network, economical network and unit network. The functional network is composed of the 'need' and 'has', while the economical network includes variable walls that can be changed following the user's taste and eccentric positioned living rooms that protect personal privacy. Therefore the economical network started to appear while the personal value changed according to the improvement of the social condition. Finally, the unit network is a network that effects each unit that has ambiguous boundaries due to the appropriate arrangement between transitional spaces. And the unit network is based on the functional network.

  • Despite the second generation HTS tapes (2G HTS tape) have limits in critical current value, scientific and electric devices require more current density day after day. These requirements are realized by using different superconducting wires that consist of 2G HTS tapes designed in various combinations. Authors of this paper have developed the numerical model for estimation of total critical current in the superconducting wire and critical current in each 2G HTS tape placed in this superconducting wire. The current drop in six 2G HTS tapes having different constructions was analyzed. The result of this research is the decrease of critical current up to 25 % for the stack of tapes and up to 5 % for the parallel tapes in the same plane. In addition, what was also made is the estimation of the current distribution by length for six 25 m 2G HTS tapes in different constructions and determination of current deviation by length of the wire.

  • This paper presents an SVD(Singular Value Decomposition)-Pseudo Spectrum method for SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging. The purpose of this work is to improve resolution and target separability of SAR images. This paper proposes SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method whose advantages are noise robustness, reduction of sidelobes and high resolution of spectral estimation. SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method uses Hankel Matrix of signal components and SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) method. In this paper, it is demonstrated that the SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method shows better performance than the matched filtering method and the conventional super-resolution based multiple signal classification (MUSIC) method in SAR image processing. The targets to be separated are modeled, and this modeled data is used to demonstrate the performance of algorithms.

  • Super engineering plastic(SEP) are applied to high performance and high value industries due to their excellent mechanical properties and high continuous operating temperature. Among them, PES and PEI are amorphous SEPs, and have the advantages of high flexibility, mechanical properties, transparency, and thermal stability. In this study, polyethersulfone(PES) and polyetherimide(PEI) fibers were manufactured to produce flame retardant artificial hair. PES and PEI fibers prepared through a melt-spinning process at a high temperature of 360 to 420℃. They are compared with commercial artificial hair by thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA), linear density, tenacity, and limited oxygen index(LOI) analysis. PES and PEI fibers have similar linear density and tenacity to commercial artificial hair, while their thermal stability and flame retardant are excellent. In particular, flame retardant was analyzed through LOI value and PES was 35.1%, which is superior to commercial artificial hair PET/Br(28.2%) and PET/P(20.2%). Therefore, PES and PEI are suitable as artificial hair for flame retardant.

  • According to flow of energy, the loss occurs through walls, roofs, windows and so on. Among these case, most of the loss that is about 45% occurs through windows. windows's U-value is six times higher than wall's one according to Building code, so the loss through windows accounts for very much rates. Currently, Exterior wall's U-value about building envelope is 0.35~0.58W/ mK, but windows's one is 3.3W/ mK. It means that the loss through windows occupy very much amounts relatively. Therefore, the solution is required to reduce energy loss and increasing displeasure caused by excessive influx of solar energy through windows, to solve the problems Like decoloration on indoor furniture an clothes by harmful ultraviolet rays, air conditioning and increased cost. Therefore, on this paper, Thermal Performance was evaluated through actual test about high insulation Super Window which can improve thermal performance and the Simulation result was compared with actual resul by using Simulation program WINDOW and THERM.

  • This study is connected with evaluation of the progressive collapse resisting capacity for sustainable RC super tall building design. As the progressive collapse is not considered in current design codes in Korea, differences between linear static and dynamic analysis based on the GSA guidelines was analyzed for better evaluation, and the analysis model of flat plate system was determined. Finally, the progressive collapse resisting capacity was evaluated for structural system of super tall building. According to this study, the results by linear dynamic analysis were underestimated than the results by linear static analysis. Thus, the dynamic coefficient value of 2 provides conservative approach. The Effective Beam Width's model, currently used in field, is useful for the analysis about lateral force, but this model does not consider the effect of load redistribution by the slab. Hence, finite element analysis considering slab element will be needed for progressive collapse resisting capacity of the flat plate system. Finally, analysis model of 80-story building designed based on KBC(Korea Building Code) shows the weakness against progressive collapse because the DCR value is over 2. Thus, the countermeasure for alternative loading path such as installment of spandrel beam and reinforcements around slab is required to prevent the progressive collapse.

  • This study provides the identification of corrosion cause substances in super heater tube from a commercial scale circulating fluidized bed boiler. Electricity is produced by the combustion of biomass mainly wood waste. The biomass, super heater tube, super heater tube ash, and boiler ash were collected and components associated with corrosion were analyzed. A large amount of oxygen-containing material was found due to oxidation. The chlorine content was analyzed as 6.1% and 4.3% in super heater tube ash and boiler ash respectively which were approximately 20 and 14 times higher than those of designed values. Also, alkaline metal contents (K, Na, Ca) were very high in ash samples collected from super heater tube and boiler. The tendency of slagging and fouling was predicted based on X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) results. Basicity that can lead to slagging was estimated as 3.62 and 2.72 in super heater tube and boiler ash, respectively. Slagging would occur with ash content when considering the designed value as 0.35.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the influence of ${\sigma}$ phase on the microstructure and mechanical properties in super duplex stainless steel. The precipitation of ${\sigma}$ phase during isothermal heat treatment showed the type S curves with a certain incubation period. The precipitation of ${\sigma}$ phase was precipitated at ferrite phase and interface of ferrite and austenite. Under the state of isothermal transformation, the precipitation of ${\sigma}$ phase was stimulated by applied stress. With increasing of volume fraction of precipitated ${\sigma}$ phase, tensile strength was increased and elongation was decreased with linear relationship, while in case of precipitated ${\sigma}$ phase was 5% over, impact value was rapidly decreased.
