  • The most effective way to improve the performance of a fuzzy controller may be to optimize look-up values. Look-up values are derived from processes used input-output scale factors, membership functions, rule base, fuzzy inference method and defuzzification. It is powerful way to modify or organize look-up table values. In this paper, We propose the look-up values self-organizing fuzzy controller(LSOFC). We use the plus-minus tuning method(PMTM), scanning values through the processes of addition and subtraction. We show the efficiency of this LSOFC by the results of simulation for nonlinear time-varying plant with unmodelled dynamics.

  • The ultrasonic motor(USM) has good characteristics such as compact size, silent motion, low speed, high torque and high speed response. The USM is driven by 2-phase AC electricity. The control parameters of USM are voltage, phase difference, frequency of input power, etc. In this paper, we propose voltage difference control. And we designed USM controller to adjust voltage and phase using pLSI(programmable Large Scale Integration). Voltage difference control has many advantages that are lower current, lower power than phase difference control. Especially there is nearly zero ampere at the zero point of speed and torque. we can apply this voltage difference control to the compliance control of DD manipulator.

  • The travelling ultrasonic motor(USM) has good some characteristics over conventional servo motors such as compact size, light weight, silent moton, high torque and high speed response. The USM is driven by 2-phase AC electricity. By adjusting the phase difference of the motor power we control rotation, speed and torque of USM. In this paper, we propose design method using PLSI(programmable Large Scale Integration) of USM controller to adjust the phase difference of the motor power. As compared the previous, the new controller has some advantage that high speed, predictable performance, low power and so on.

  • In this paper, sliding mode controller for discrete-time nonlinear systems with uncertainties and disturbances are proposed. The concept of time-delay control (TDC) which consists of estimating the uncertain dynamics of the system through past observations of the system response is used. The proposed controller guarantees that the closed-loop system states are globally uniformly ultimately bounded (GUUB). It is also shown that the closed-loop system states are globally uniformly asymptotically stable (GUAS) if uncertainties are constant.

  • 본 논문에서는 진보된 전파 항법장치인 GPS를 다른 측면으로 이용하여 도로의 센서 역할을 하는 개념으로 이용하여 복잡한 도로의 사정을 한번에 인식할 수 있고 또한 얻어진 데이터를 바탕으로 하여 현제의 무계획적인 신호체계를 효율적인 신호체계로 변화시키는데 사용하여 도로의 효율을 높이면서 정확한 데이터를 바탕으로 도로의 이용률 등을 알아 볼 수 있다.

  • We study the transient stability control problem for electric power system. Passivity-based control method is used to obtain transient stability. We propose a method which uses neural network to obtain passivity and the transient stability, and compare the simulation result with that of speed gradient method which was developed by other researchers.

  • Photovoltaic system has very low energy conversion efficiency and the output characteristics of solar cell is varied by the Insolation quantity and the temperature. In order to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic system, the energy which has got from solar cell must be use maximum. In this paper, it was stimultaneous executed both MPPT control and instrumentation in order that the operating point of solar cell is located maximum power point, using the PWM inverter and micro-computer, which is for the purpose of acquiring maximum power from the solar cell. As a result, maximum power point tracking had carried out and the efficiency of photovoltaic system improved, even if insolation quantity and the temperature are varied.

  • Genetic algorithm is well known as a stochastic searching method. In this paper, a modified genetic algorithm using 'Suppor Vector Machines (SVM)' is proposed. SVM is used to reduce the number of calling the objective function which in turn accelerate the searching speed compared to the conventional GA.

  • Genetic algorithm is well known for stochastic searching method in imitating natural phenomena. In recent times, studies have been conducted in improving conventional evolutionary computation speed and promoting precision. This paper presents an approach to optimize PID controller gains with the application of modified Genetic Algorithm using Support Vector Machine (SVMGA). That is, we aim to explore optimum parameters of PID controller using SVMGA. Simulation results are given to compare to those of tuning methods, based on Simple Genetic Algorithm and Ziegler-Nicholas tuning method.

  • Variable Structure Controller with effective tracking performance is propose to control micro actuator system. Propsed VSC(Variable Structure Control) technique is implemented to tracking control of comb driving system having high non-linearity. The tracking performance due to VSC technique is compared to conventional PD(Proportional Derivative) control technique, reveals improved results.
