Mungbean Cultivar, 'Suhyeon' with Short Stem Length, Disasters Resistance and High Yielding (단경 내재해 다수성 녹두 품종 '수현')

  • A mungbean variety 'Suhyeon' (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) was derived from the cross between 'Jeonnam14' and 'IT208777' at the Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services (JARES) in 2010. 'Suhyeon' has erect growth habit, heart leaflet, green hypocotyl, black and straight pod when matured, and dull green seed surface. The stem length of 'Suhyeon' was 66 cm, which was 5 cm less than check variety 'Owool'. The pods number per plant of 'Suhyeon' was 24, which was 5 more than check variety. The sprout yield ratio of 'Suhyeon' was 8.67 times, which was 16% more than check variety. The contents of starch, protein and fatty acid of seed were 62.7, 27.3, 1.89%, respectively. The average yield of 'Suhyeon' was 1.74 ton/㏊, which increased 8% more than that of check variety. (Variety registration number: 5107)

  • A low-cost, simple strip reader system using a linear movement mechanism of CD-ROM deck has been developed to characterize a lateral flow membrane-based immunochromatographic assay. The test strip reader was assembled by a CD-ROM deck and home-made optical head especially designed for immunoassays. The optical head for detecting reflected light from the test strip surface consists of green light-emitting diode, large area silicon photodiode, and anodized aluminum mounting block providing a slit structure for cutting light from the LED. The stepping motor of the deck was operated in the full step mode, whose distance of each reading point is about 0.15mm. The performance of the strip reader was tested by analysis of HBV(hepatitis B virus) antigen test kit. This strip reader can be useful for inexpensive, disposable, and membrane-based assays that provide visual evidence of the presence of an analyte in a liquid sample.

  • 최근 스마트폰 열풍과 함께 트위터, 페이스북 등으로 대표되는 SNS의 이용이 크게 확대되었다. SNS가 개인간 네트워크 유지 및 확대를 위한 소통의 도구로 자리매김함에 따라 기업들도 고객과의 관계 강화를 위한 마케팅 도구로 SNS를 활용하고 있다. 그러나 개인 프로필을 기반으로 하는 정보의 공개 및 공유가 특징인 SNS는 개인정보 노출이나 퍼블리시티권 침해, 저작권 침해 등 여러 가지 사회적 이슈를 야기하고 있다. 이에 SNS 이용자들은 정보의 공유에 대한 범위 설정 등을 통해 자신의 권리는 물론, 타인의 권리도 보호해야 할 필요가 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 SNS 상에서 발생하는 권리침해 문제들을 개괄하고, 주요 SNS의 이용약관을 살펴봄으로써 SNS 이용자의 정보공유 및 권리보호를 위한 권한과 책무를 파악하고자 한다.

  • IT 기술에 의해 정보유통 환경이 진화하면서, 정보 획득의 방법에 있어서 웹과 디지털 기술을 활용하는 전자원문서비스가 활성화되고 있다. 그러나 국내 저작권법상 저작권자의 개별적인 허락없이는 해외 학술자료의 전자원문서비스가 불가능한 실정이다. 이 연구에서는 저작권법 조항의 문제점을 지적하고, 전자원문서비스의 실현을 위한 방안으로 확대된 저작권 집중관리제도의 도입을 검토한다. 확대된 저작권 집중관리제도(ECL)는 집중관리단체가 대리하지 않는 권리자에게로 이용허락계약을 확대시키는 것이다. ECL을 통해 국내 어문저작물의 복제 전송에 대한 저작자의 권리를 신탁관리하는 (사)한국복사전송권협회가 해외 학술자료의 이용에 대해서도 사용승인 및 사용료 징수 등의 역할을 수행하며, 이를 통해 도서관은 진정한 전자원문서비스를 실현할 수 있을 것이다. 전자원문서비스를 통해 저작권의 합리적인 준수는 물론, 학술정보 유통 활성화에 기여함으로써 궁극적으로 국가 경쟁력 제고를 도모할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Experiments were conducted to get the design concepts for the continuous aluminum particle feeding system. Two opposed cylinders were used. Aluminum particles in one cylinder were ejected to the air by the supplying gas and the pressure of the other cylinder. It was not possible to eject more aluminum mass flowrate than that of gas if particles were just thrust by the pressure difference between two cylinders. Aluminum particle/air mixture in the flow system was successfully ignited by the electric spark.

Design of Object-based Information System Prototype

  • Researchers who use science and technology information were found to ask an information service in which they can excerpt the contents they needed, rather than using the information at article level. In this study, we micronized the contents of scholarly articles into text, image, and table and then constructed a micro-content DB to design a new information system prototype based on this micro-content. After designing the prototype, we performed usability test for this prototype so as to confirm the usefulness of the system prototype. We expect that the outcome of this study will fulfill the segmented and diversified information need of researchers.

  • The chloroplast genome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch was sequenced to investigate intraspecific variations on the chloroplast genome. Its length is 127,689 bp long (34.3% GC ratio) with atypical structure of chloroplast genome, which is congruent to those of Glycyrrhiza genus. It includes 110 genes (76 protein-coding genes, four rRNAs, and 30 tRNAs). Intronic region of ndhA presented the highest nucleotide diversity based on the six G. uralenesis chloroplast genomes. A total of 150 single nucleotide polymorphisms and 10 insertion and deletion (INDEL) regions were identified from the six G. uralensis chloroplast genomes. Phylogenetic trees show that the six chloroplast genomes of G. uralensis formed the two clades, requiring additional studies to understand it.
