21세기 학습 능력 신장을 위한 융합교육 프로그램 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of Convergence Education Programs for Expansion of Learning Ability in the 21st Century)

  • 본 연구는 21세기에 필요한 핵심적인 학습 능력을 연구하고 미래 사회 국가 발전에 필요한 핵심 인력을 양성하는데 있다. '21세기 학습 능력 프로젝트'는 학습자의 학습 능력과 개인 회적으로 가치 있는 주제를 중심으로 기존 지식과 학문을 다학문적, 통합적으로 접근 하는 것이다. 국내에서도 학습 능력 배양을 위한 다양한 교과 간 통합 교육과정의 시도가 있었으나 각 교과의 내용과 특성의 차이를 충분히 이해하여 효과적으로 교수할 수 있는 교사가 부족하고 현장에서 쉽게 적용하는데 어려움이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 21세기에 필요한 학습 능력 신장을 위해 학문의 지식을 통합하는 다학문적 맞춤형 교육과정을 개발하고 이를 효율적으로 지원하기위해 교육과정 실태를 분석 연구하고 그 결과로 초 중등학교에 적용할 수 있는 다학문 맞춤형 학문 통합 모형을 제안한다.

  • The virus isolated from patients with severe pneumonia of unknown etiology in Wuhan City, Hubei province in China was termed SARS-CoV-2 and the World Health Organization (WHO) named the disease caused by this virus as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The COVID-19 infection has spread rapidly and become a pandemic. In July 2020, there were 13.25 million infected patients and over 570,000 deaths worldwide, and 13,711 infected patients and 294 deaths were reported in South Korea. Since the primary mode of transmission of COVID-19 is through respiratory droplets, the importance of preventive measures, including social distancing, has become important in daily life. In response to the continuous spread of COVID-19, this study developed three guidelines for preventing COVID-19 for the food service industry including childcare centers, institutional foodservices and restaurants by the integration of the manual of controlling foodborne illness. These are included the COVID-19 prevention action methods for food deliverers, for food service administrator, for foodservice works and for customers. All guidelines were designed for easy understanding using illustrations and have been systematically explained subject wise. Thus, these COVID-19 prevention guidelines can be appropriately applied depending on the specific situation and workplace. In addition, they are worthy as educational materials that contribute to the food safety.

Appraising the Performance of Construction Projects during Implementation in Kenya, 1963-2018: A Literature Review Perspective

  • Poor project performance has been noted as the bane in the construction industry globally. This paper sought to investigate, by way of literature, the performance patterns of construction projects in Kenya since independence (1963-2018). This was informed by reports of undesirable project performance in the industry. This descriptive study used available studies previously done in this subject area. In sum, literature is replete with evidence on a myriad of challenges facing the execution of projects. The study established that generally, the project performance is poor and has assumed a chronic trajectory spanning over five decades. On average, the findings reveal that 35-60% of projects initiated in Kenya face cost overruns while time overrun is most severe with 35-73% projects overrunning their schedule. In addition, the findings problematize the issue of plurality of performance measurement regimes in the construction industry. Here, it was observed that no singular construct exists to objectively measure the various facets that constitute the 'health' of a project. This paper has contributed to the body of knowledge by examining the performance patterns in Kenya for over fifty years while at the same time identifying the bottlenecks inherent in projects execution. Importantly, the conceptual performance efficiency framework derived in the current study presents a paradigm shift in the monitoring and evaluation of projects. To this end, an in-depth analysis is recommended on the interaction of efficiency enablers in the buildup of performance efficiency index (PEI). Similarly, a further inquiry is recommended on the integration and impact of the proposed framework in the management of projects.

  • 융합이라는 시대의 흐름과 더불어 상상력과 창조성에 기반을 둔 디자인·공예의 본질적 속성의 효과적 결합을 위해서는 학문적, 방법적 측면에서 다양한 시도가 필요하다. 본 연구는 2020년 2학기에 실행된 국민대학교 팀팀Class의 디자인·공예 융합 교육 프로그램의 운영 사례를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 기존 문헌연구를 통한 디자인·공예 융합 교육 관련 중요 항목을 5가지(대상, 방법, 운영, 공간, 소통)로 구분해 분석하였다. 이를 통해 디자인·공예 융합 교육 프로그램에 대한 경험과 문제점, 그리고 향후 디자인·공예 융합 교육 프로그램의 운영에 적용 가능한 해결방안 제시에 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 국민대학교 팀팀Class 디자인·공예 융합 교육 프로그램으로 사례연구 대상을 한정하였으나 향후 지속적인 연구를 통해 향후 다가올 코로나(COVID-19) 이후 시대의 새로운 환경에 적용 가능한 디자인·공예 융합 교육 프로그램을 위해 후속 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다.

PBL과 메이커 교육을 적용한 가정과 예비교사를 위한 의류학 실습 수업 개발 (Developing a clothing and textiles studio course for future home economics teachers using principles of PBL and maker education)

  • The aim of this research is to develop a clothing and textiles studio course for preservice home economics teachers applying principles of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and maker education to equip future teachers with the ability to nurture creativity among adolescents. The studio course was developed in the following stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. We concluded that the resulting course met the following objectives extracted from the 2015 revised curriculum of home economics subjects: to promote creative and environmentally-friendly fashion design and styling abilities, gain the ability to use makerspace tools, understand flat pattern making and sewing processes, and develop creative thinking, aesthetic sense, and communication skills. Furthermore, the educational effects of PBL and maker education were confirmed through student comments on the course. Students mentioned the practicality of the material in their actual lives along with their enhanced integration of the subject material, self-directedness, aesthetic sense, ability to learn through trial and error, collaboration and communication, and sharing. Based on results from the implementation and evaluation stages, a clothing and textiles studio course should include the following modules: introduction of terms and tools, submission and sharing of clothing reformation and upcycling techniques, introduction to hand sewing, pouch making, heat-transfer printing, 3D printing, mask making, hat making, vest making, and the final team project on fashion styling. It is important for instructors to provide detailed guidelines on selecting personas for styling, looking for available materials, and selecting materials online.

Development of Real-time Mission Monitoring for the Korea Augmentation Satellite System

  • Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) is a satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) that provides approach procedure with vertical guidance-I (APV-I) level corrections and integrity information to Korea territory. KASS is used to monitor navigation performance in real-time, and this paper introduces the design, implementation, and verification process of mission monitoring (MIMO) in KASS. MIMO was developed in compliance with the Minimum Operational Performance Standards of the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics for Global Positioning System (GPS)/SBAS airborne equipment. In this study, the MIMO system was verified by comparing and analyzing the outputs of reference tools. Additionally, the definition and derivation method of accuracy, integrity, continuity, and availability subject to MIMO were examined. The internal and external interfaces and functions were then designed and implemented. The GPS data pre-processing was minimized during the implementation to evaluate the navigation performance experienced by general users. Subsequently, tests and verification methods were used to compare the obtained results based on reference tools. The test was performed using the KASS dataset, which included GPS and SBAS observations. The decoding performance of the developed MIMO was identical to that of the reference tools. Additionally, the navigation performance was verified by confirming the similarity in trends. As MIMO is a component of KASS used for real-time monitoring of the navigation performance of SBAS, the KASS operator can identify whether an abnormality exists in the navigation performance in real-time. Moreover, the preliminary identification of the abnormal point during the post-processing of data can improve operational efficiency.

  • This paper is concerned with an analysis of a surface edge crack emanated from a sharp contact edge. For a geometrical model, a square wedge is in contact with a half plane whose materials are identical, and a surface perpendicular crack initiated from the contact edge exists in the half plane. To analyze this crack problem, it is necessary to evaluate the stress field on the crack line which are induced by the contact tractions and pseudo-dislocations that simulate the crack, using the Bueckner principle. In this Part I, the stress filed in the half plane due to the contact is re-summarized using an asymptotic analysis method, which has been published before by the author. Further focus is given to the stress field in the half plane due to a pseudo-edge dislocation, which will provide a stress solution due to a crack (i.e. a continuous distribution of edge dislocations) later, using the Burgers vector. Essential result of the present work is the corrective functions which modify the stress field of an infinite domain to apply for the present one which has free surfaces, and thus the infiniteness is no longer preserved. Numerical methods and coordinate normalization are used, which was developed for an edge crack problem, using the Gauss-Jacobi integration formula. The convergence of the corrective functions are investigated here. Features of the corrective functions and their application to a crack problem will be given in Part II.

문제중심학습(PBL)이 치위생학 전공 학생들의 문제해결능력과 협력적 자기효능감에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Problem-Based Learning on Problem Solving Ability and Collaborative Self-efficacy of Dental Hygiene Major Students)

  • Purpose : This study was purposed to analyze the effectiveness of PBL (Problem-Based Learning) classes and to derive class improvement plans. Methods : The subjects of the study were 48 students who took the 4th grade clinical dental hygiene course at S University located in Chungcheongnam-do of South Korea in 2021. A single-group pre and post experimental study was designed to verify whether there were significant changes in the research variables of students who participated in the class to which problem-based learning was applied. A paired-sample t-test was conducted for the collected data of 46 respondents. Results : As a result, the degree of improvement in problem clarification, cause analysis, and alternative development among the five sub-areas of problem-solving ability was statistically significant. This means that the problem-based learning class positively affects dental hygiene major students' ability to clarify problems, the ability to analyze causes to collect and analyze information, and the ability to develop alternatives to make decisions, thereby improving overall problem-solving abilities. However, the improved post-score was not statistically significant in the planning/execution and performance evaluation of the remaining two subdomains. In addition, post-scores of the leader aspect, opinion exchange, opinion evaluation, and opinion integration, which are sub-domains of collaborative self-efficacy, all showed great statistical significance. Problem-based learning improved the collaborative efficacy of dental hygiene major students overall by positively influencing the ability to lead a team, exchange and evaluate each other's views, and constructively integrate different views. Conclusion : It was found that both the subject's problem-solving ability and cooperation efficiency improved under the influence of problem-based learning. On the other hand, implications for improvement of the future class such as the necessity of supplementing strategies to promote planning and execution ability for problem solving, and ability to evaluate problem solving performance was suggested.

객체 판독키를 적용한 방범 위험도 확률지도 생성기법 연구 (A Study on Crime Prevention Risk Probability Map Generation Methodology by using the Object Interpretation Key)

  • 본 논문에서는 집단 주거지역이 있는 도시지역을 대상으로 방범에 관한 위험도 확률지도 제작 기법을 제안한 것이다. 과거 발생했던 방범 사례를 분석하여 해당지역의 지형, 시설물, 속성 정보 등 도시 공간정보를 구성하는 객체를 바탕으로 육안으로 판별할 수 있는 특징을 판독키 (interpretation key)로 정하였다. 이 판독키를 작성하여 다른 지역에 동일하게 적용하여 방범 및 방재 위험도 확률지도를 생성하는 기법을 제안하였다. 이때 도시공간정보 객체 판독키는 방범 유형에 따라 달라지는 크기의 셀(cell)로 나누고 그 셀에 해당하는 위험지수를 설정하게 된다. 이 때 만들어진 여러 계층의 위험도 확률 지도를 통합하여 종합 위험도 확률 지도를 생성하였다.

  • 월드와이드웹(World Wide Web)은 인터넷에 연결된 컴퓨터를 통해 사람들이 정보를 공유할 수 있는 매우 큰 분산된 정보 공간이다. 웹은 1991년에 시작되어 개인 홈페이지, 온라인 도서관, 가상 박물관 등 다양한 정보 자원들을 웹으로 표현하면서 성장하였다. 이러한 웹은 현재 5천억 페이지 이상 존재할 것이라고 추정한다. 대용량 정보에서 정보를 효과적이며 효율적으로 검색하는 기술을 적용할 수 있다. 현재 존재하는 몇몇 검색 도구들은 초 단위로 gigabyte 크기의 웹을 검사하여 사용자에게 검색 정보를 제공한다. 그러나 검색의 효율성은 검색 시간과는 다른 문제이다. 현재 검색 도구들은 사용자의 질의에 적합한 정보가 적음에도 불구하고 많은 문서들을 사용자에게 검색해준다. 그러므로 대부분의 적합한 문서들은 검색 상위에 존재하지 않는다. 또한 현재 검색 도구들은 사용자가 찾은 문서와 관련된 문서를 찾을 수 없다. 현재 많은 검색 시스템들의 가장 중요한 문제는 검색의 질을 증가 시키는 것이다. 그것은 검색된 결과로 관련 있는 문서를 증가시키고, 관련 없는 문서를 감소시켜 사용자에게 제공하는 것이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 CiteSeer는 월드와이드웹에 존재하는 논문에 대해 한정하여 ACI(Autonomous Citation Indexing)기법을 제안하였다. "Citaion Index"는 연구자가 자신의 논문에 다른 논문을 인용한 정보를 기술하는데 이렇게 기술된 논문과 자신의 논문을 연결하여 색인한다. "Citation Index"는 논문 검색이나 논문 분석 등에 매우 유용하다. 그러나 "Citation Index"는 논문의 저자가 다른 논문을 인용한 논문에 대해서만 자신의 논문을 연결하여 색인했기 때문에 논문의 저자가 다른 논문을 인용하지 않은 논문에 대해서는 관련 있는 논문이라 할지 라도 저자의 논문과 연결하여 색인할 수 없다. 또한 인용되지 않은 다른 논문과 연결하여 색인할 수 없기 때문에 확장성이 용이하지 못하다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 검색된 문서에서 단락별 명사와 동사 및 목적어를 추출하여 해당 동사가 명사 및 목적어를 취할 수 있는 가능한 값을 고려하여 하나의 문서를 formal context 형태로 변환한다. 이 표를 이용하여 문서의 계층적 그래프를 구성하고, 문서의 그래프를 이용하여 문서 간 그래프를 통합한다. 이렇게 만들어진 문서의 그래프들은 그래프의 구조를 보고 각각의 문서의 영역을 구하고 그 영역에 포함관계를 계산하여 문서와 문서간의 관계를 표시할 수 있다. 또한 검색된 문서를 트리 형식으로 보여주어 사용자가 원하는 정보를 보다 쉽게 검색할 수 있는 문서의 구조적 통합 방법에 대해 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 루씬 검색엔진이 가지고 있는 순위 계산 공식을 이용하여 문서가 가지는 중요한 단어를 문서의 참조 관계에 적용하여 비교하였다. 제안한 방법이 루씬 검색엔진보다15% 정도 높은 성능을 나타내었다.
