스마트러닝 기반 과학수업에 대한 중학생들의 인식과 학습만족도 분석 (An Analysis of Middle School Students' Perceptions and Learning Satisfaction in SMART Learning-based Science Instruction)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중학교 과학수업을 위한 스마트러닝 기반의 수업 모듈을 개발 적용하고 학생들의 인식과 만족도를 밝히고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 중학교 2학년 천문단원의 태양계 행성과 달의 위상을 주제로 3가지 유형의 모듈을 개발하였고, 중학생 207명을 대상으로 수업을 실시하였다. 수업에 참여한 모든 학생들에게 태블릿PC를 제공하였고, 천문교육용 앱 Solar Walk, 미러링 기능, QR코드, 구글 프리젠테이션 등을 활용하여 학교와 가정에서 학습이 이루어졌다. 본 연구에서 개발한 인식조사 도구는 스마트러닝 수업에 있어서 자기주도적 학습(Self-directed), 학습동기유발(Motivation), 학습자 맞춤형(Adaptiveness), 정보기술활용(Technology Embedded)의 4가지 요인으로 이루어져 있으며, 리커트 5척도의 총 20문항으로 구성되어 있다. 학습만족도 검사도구는 Keller (1987)의 만족도 영역의 검사 항목을 번안 및 수정하여 사용하였다. 스마트러닝 기반의 과학수업에 대한 인식과 학습 만족도를 밝히기 위하여 연구대상 학생들의 성별과 과학성취도 수준별로 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 스마트러닝 기반의 수업에 대하여 남학생이 여학생보다 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났으며, 과학성취도가 높은 집단이 자기주도학습 요인과 학습동기유발 요인에서 성취도가 낮은 집단보다 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 또한, 학습 만족도 측면에서는 남학생이 여학생보다 만족도가 높게 나타났고, 학업능력이 높은 학생들일수록 스마트러닝 기반의 과학수업에 대하여 만족하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 과학 분야 스마트러닝 활성화를 위한 방향 설정과 실질적인 프로그램 개발에 시사점을 제공할 것이다.

성찰일지에 기초한 간호학생의 문제중심학습 경험 (Perception about Problem-based Learning in Reflective Journals among Undergraduate Nursing Students)

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the variation in perceptions about problem-based learning(PBL) according to the level of academic achievement and learning attitude in the nursing students of a junior college (3-year program). Method: Students (n=39) learned the respiratory and cardiac system with seven PBL packages and group-based learning for a semester in 2002. Students were asked to write reflective journals that focused on their learning perception after an experience with each learning package. A total of 208 journals were used for analysis. Result: Students positively perceived that PBL making them increase their sense of responsibility for learning and felt satisfaction with the learning process, and had a confidence in the use of clinical nursing interventions. On the other hand, they negatively perceived that PBL was a burden because it took more time than traditional learning tasks, and they experienced an anxiety about regular tests and felt conflicts and diffidences in the learning process. The negative perceptions were expressed more often from students with a low academic achievement and low learning attitude compared to others. Conclusion: Students perceived the PBL as effective in understanding the learning concepts in the clinical practice environment. The Correspondence of Culture and E-Learning Perception Among Indian and Croatian Students During the COVID-19 Pandemic

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly affected the world, inflicting nationwide lockdowns interrupting conventional schooling through schools, colleges and universities. Educational institutions are struggling to maintain learning continuity through remote learning solutions. Still, the students' perception of this 'new normal' mode and pace of learning needs to be examined to ensure the success of these efforts. This study aimed at examining the perception of higher education students in India and Croatia especially with respect to the association between cultural orientation and the e-learning. The period considered for the data collection was from March 2020 to September 2020. Correspondence analysis was attempted to create spatial maps to depict the respondent choices. Students from both the regions agreed to the high-power distance that existed in their cultures and considered the role of device and content to be an important dimension of e-learning for it to be effective, but the results also pointed out some differences in their choices on other culture dimensions as well as factors affecting e-learning which make this study unique and suggest in-depth future research for conclusive results.

습지 생태 체험 학습이 초등학생의 환경 친화적 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Wetland Field Trip on the Pro-Environmental Attitudes of Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of the present study is to develop ecological experience learning program for the wetland so that elementary school students can recognize the significance and values of wetland and have the attitudes to protect it through their ecological experience learning, and investigate changes in elementary school students' perception for wetland. The experimental class was composed of 26 elementary school students and took the ecological experience learning. The comparison class was also composed of 26 students who took theoretical learning for wetland. It was found that knowledge and attitudes for wetland of the experimental class were significantly high not only in the knowledge area but also in the affective area than those of the comparison class. And it was found that interest and curiosity into wetland were elevated also in the results of the qualitative evaluation, suggesting that we could get the effect of ecological experience learning. Therefore, it is thought that above all, more experience learning programs for wetland are needed to develop for elementary school students' right view of nature and minds to love it by continuously finding and providing materials of experience learning like those of this research in the future.

직장인과 비직장인의 원격강의 수강참여 인식 비교연구 (A Study on Student Perception of Participation in Distance Learning : Differences Between Working and Non-Working Students)

  • 원격강의를 수강함에 있어 직장에 다니는 학생과 일반학생은 여건 및 인식의 차이가 있을 것으로 추정된다. 본 논문에서는 원격강의 수강생들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 수강에 대한 충실성 인식 차이, 수강 시간에 대한 차이, 콘텐츠 수강 완료 여부에 대한 차이를 통계적으로 검증하였다. 검증 결과는 직장인은 자신이 수강에 충실하지 못했다는 인식을 비직장인에 비해 통계적으로 유의한 정도로 갖고 있으나 실제 수강시간 답변결과는 통계적으로 차이가 없고 콘텐츠 수강 완료 여부 답변에서도 통계적으로 차이를 보이지는 않는 것으로 나타나고 있다.

조리실기과목에 대한 원격교육방법 활용현황과 인식 조사 - 서울.경기지역 외식조리관련전공 2년제 대학생을 대상으로 - (A Study on the Perception and Application of Distance Learning Method to Cooking Practice Subject - College Students with Cuisine-Related Majors in Seoul and Gyeonggi Areas -)

  • Although many studies have suggested that introducing the distance learning method, including Web-based learning, to a practice class is effective, studies applying the distance learning method to subjects who are practicing cooking are rare. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of the distance learning method, the degree of computer use, and the use of distance learning by college students with cuisine-related majors to practice cooking. The results showed that most students used the distance learning method, and that the method was positively perceived, as it was a great aid in learning. Most of the cooking information was obtained through the internet, and the most effective learning media for practicing cooking was "e-learning" using a computer. The most effective learning method for those who were practicing cooking was a "face-to-face learning method", because face-to-face type of teaching and learning was most universally recognized. Most of the students surveyed responded that using the distance learning method was a positive experience, indicating that cyber lectures could be applied at more universities for subjects practicing cooking.

과학교사에 의해 조성되는 심리적 학습환경이 학생들의 과학 성취도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Psychological Learning Environment by Science Teachers on Students' Science Achievement)

  • 과학 및 과학교과에 대한 학생들의 정의적 인식이 어떻게 하면 긍정적인 방향으로 행동변화를 가져올 수 있는가?에 연구의 목적을 가지고서, 과학수업 과정에서 교사에 의한 학습환경의 분위기나 풍토를 조성하는 심리적 측면이 학생들의 성취도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 1년간 동일한 교사로부터 과학수업을 받은 중 고등학교 2, 3학년학생들이 가지고 있는 교사인식을 바탕으로 심리적 학습환경을 측정하고, 이 환경인식에 따른 과학불안 인식, 과학에 대한 태도, 과학 탐구능력, 과학성취도와의 관계 및 효과를 조사하였다. 이를 토대로 밝혀진 결과는 심리적 학습 환경은 학생들의 정의적 인식 성향과 인지적 학습결과에 직 간접적인 효과를 주며, 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 즉, 교사가 조성하는 수업태도, 인성특성, 학습분위기, 수업행동, 지원적 행동 등은 학생들의 과학에 대한 정의적인 행동특성을 변화시킬 수 있는 수업의 사태로써 유의하게 작용할 수 있으며, 과학 성취에도 의미있게 작용한다는 점을 시사해주고 있다.

A Study on Promoting Early Reading Ability through an Explicit High-frequency Sight Word Instruction

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of an explicit word instruction for EFL beginning readers and their perception on the learning experience. Data were attained from 16 fourth graders who took English class as a development activity. Data include the results of pre- and post-test of high frequency sight word recognition, oral reading ability, students' survey responses, and teacher observation. The descriptive statistics were obtained for the result of the pre- and post-test. The findings from the student survey and teacher observation were also provided and interpreted to better understand the result of project and students' perception on the learning experience. The followings are the results of this study. The word recognition ability of the students was dramatically improved after the project. The students were satisfied with the overall learning experience perceiving it as helpful and fun learning. They expressed that the explicit word instruction helped their word recognition and reading ability. The results also supported that the confidence of students on their reading ability were heightened. Several suggestions are made for teachers and researchers on the word instruction for young EFL learners who are beginning readers.

가정과 교육내용의 유용성 인지에 관한 연구 -중학교 ‘가족과 일의 이해’ 단원을 중심으로 - (A study on students′ utility cognition of Home Economics course)

  • This study was designed to examine students' utility cognition and related variables on the ‘understanding of family and work’ in the Home Economics course. The subjects were 503 middle and high school students, and university students in Jeonju city. The results are as follows : 1) The level of utility cognition on the ‘attitude of sexuality’ was found to be relatively high in the Home Economics course. 2) There were gender difference in the evaluation of learning environment. and grade differences in the evaluation of learning environment, participation in class of Home Economics, needs for Home Economics, evaluation of learning environment. 3) The utility cognition of Home Economics course significantly differed by gender, participation in class of Home Economics. needs for Home Economics, evaluation of learning environment. and Perception of Home Economics. 4) The needs for Home Economics emerged as the most important variable in the utility cognition of Home Economics course.

Perceptions and Use of Open Access Journals by Nigerian Postgraduate Students

  • This article investigates perceptions and use of Open Access journals (OAJs) by master's degree students in two universities in the southwestern part of Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was used in the study and the study population was comprised of 7,423 master's degree students in the University of Ibadan and 1,867 from Obafemi Awolowo University. A multistage random sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 249 and the data collection instrument was a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, mean, standard deviation, correlation, and regression analyses. The findings revealed that OAJs were used for learning, dissertation writing, personal research, and development. OAJs were not frequently used because of download delays, unavailability of Internet facilities, and limited access to computers terminals, among other issues. OAJs were found to be of relative advantage, positively perceived, and found to be compatible with existing values and quality assurance in scholarly publications, hence their use for academic activities. The regression analyses showed that there was a significant positive relationship between positive perception, perception of relative advantage, perception of compatibility, perception complexity, and master's degree students' use of OAJs. Negative perception was found to have a significant negative correlation with the use of OAJs. This article recommends that quality assurance of OAJs should be ensured in order to boost users' positive perceptions to increase their patronage and usage of these scholarly outlets for various academic activities, which will in turn encourage research and development across the various institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.
