  • Purpose: This study attempted to provide the basic data for the institutional improvement of the clinical practice of physical therapy department students. Methods: Research for this study included 390 participants used for the analysis of the present study. The statistical analysis was of the characteristics and satisfaction of the clinical practices of subjects, the reasons for major employment preferences before and after clinical practices, and the preferred institution and field of major employment before and after clinical practice. Results: The general characteristics of students of the physical therapy department include females in their third year of college at age 20~24 years-old. As well, no religion, usual satisfaction with major, and motivation of choosing a physical therapy employment rate were the most common. A residency type in the form where one would cook one's own food and a clinical practice with a general hospital grade were seen most often. Regarding preference of major employment before and after clinical practice, the preference of major employment was 88%, which increased by 5.2% after clinical practice from 82.8% before clinical practice. The preference for no major employment due to lack of interest and no aptitude increased 43.5% from 23.9% after clinical practice. Conclusion: The number of apprentices will increase despite practice institutions being limited; for practice of environment, content, etc., relatively changes are slow, and progress rapidly medical technology. It is a society in which expertise is required; in the present study, there is a value in providing the clinical data missing in physical therapy.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy in the relationship between self-management competency and employment preparation behavior of senior nursing students. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 program, frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. As a result of the study, self-management competency was positively correlated with academic self-efficacy, employment preparation behavior, and academic self-efficacy with employment preparation behavior. Academic self-efficacy showed a partial mediating effect between self-management competency and employment preparation behavior. The higher the level of self-management competency and academic self-efficacy, the higher the level of employment preparation behavior, and the explanatory power (R2) was 34%. Therefore, it suggests that it is important to develop self-management competency and to prepare an integrated strategy that can induce a sense of academic self-efficacy in order to promote the employment preparation behavior of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this paper is to survey the educational effects of gender sensitivity in engineering courses based on the cognition of students and faculty. For the research of nationwide scale, the data from engineering courses managed by WISET Chungbuk branch, Deakyung Gangwon Branch, Gyungnam Branch, Junbuk Branch, and Chungnam Branch were selected. The results were divided into 5 categories: gender sensitivity, interests in major, interests in job related to major, the efforts for employment of major field, the efforts for success after employment. As results, students realized lectures were important for gender sensitivity ability improvement. This means that the educational effects of the engineering courses were proved. But the courses could not change students' thought of interests in job related to major, the efforts for employment of major field, the effects for success after employment.

  • The importance of the NCS(National Competitiveness Standards) is growing as the job market shrinks and more institutions require hiring based on NCS. Of the ten domains of NCS', the most relevant one with the performance of all tasks is basic capability group. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of college students' basic capability group(communication capability, mathematical capability) on their career preparation behavior. In this study, we set up a process model to comprehend the effect of college students' basic capability group on career preparation behavior based on social cognitive career theory. For research model testing, 561 questionnaires were used for empirical analysis through structural equations modeling. Empirical analysis showed that communication capability positively influenced college students' career preparation behaviors for employment. But, mathematical capability don't influenced college students' career preparation behaviors for employment. Next, career self-efficacy and career outcome expectation each positively influenced college students' career preparation behaviors for employment. Also, interest in the major positively influenced college students' career preparation behaviors for employment. The academic implications are as follows: Career self-efficacy and interest in the major were important factors in the communication capability. The process of communication capability affecting career preparation behavior and interest in the major was explained through social cognitive career theory and self-efficacy. The practical implications are as follows: Administrative assistance should be provided to improve the career self-efficacy of college students.

  • This study investigated the effects of major selection motives and occupational values on employment preparation behavior among paramedic students. The study also assessed the role of mentoring in enhancing preparation for employment. During the period of five days, from December 2 to 6, 2019, 300 students randomly selected by the researcher, were provided with a self-administered questionnaire, after taking written consent from them. The responses of 286 respondents were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Fourteen responses were not included in the analysis due to lack of credible answers. The analysis revealed that personal motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic work values had a positive effect on employment preparation behavior and mentoring had a moderating effect. Therefore, continuous individual and group counseling is required to improve employment preparation behavior and special lectures and mock interviews in a mentoring program based on major selection motivations and occupational values are necessary.
