충북지역 교과교실제 중·고등학교의 학생 및 학습지원공간 연구 (A Study on Student & Learning Support Spaces of Departmentalized Class System at Middle & High Schools in Chungbuk)

  • According to the master plan of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, departmentalized class system will be extended to all general middle & high schools by 2014 with the exception only of those having less than 6 classes located in small cities in rural areas. Under departmentalized class system, according to class timetable, students need to move from classroom to another classroom and areas where homebases, lounges, media spaces, rest places, and etc. This study has been undertaken to provide architectural data required in planning for student & learning support space for schools operating departmentalized class system, by investigating and analyzing cases in use at schools operating the system in Chungbuk area. As departmentalized class system is increasingly introduced, student & learning support space should be understood newly as spaces indispensable for students.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the school parent and student's perception of Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics and to suggest plan to school parent of multicultural and learning disability families. The subjects of this study were elementary and secondary teachers who teaching Practical Arts or Technology Home Economics. The instrument of this study was questionnaire including five sections: influence on students by Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics, interest in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics to school parents, school support with learning ability improvement, school parents support with home in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics, data form of school parents support with home in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. The findings of this study were as follows; Sociality development of students is influential by Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. School parents and students believe important subjects in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. Teachers ask for support with learning ability improvement for practical training space and programs in Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics. School parents ask for support with learning ability improvement of programs of teaching learning method for home education on Practical Arts and Technology Home Economics.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the design guidance of education facilities by analysing Alvaro Siza's education facilities of which considered having idiosyncratic spatial characteristics. Focusing on the his planning of learning and transitional space of education facilities, this study aims at eliciting the spatial characteristics of his architecture. In doing so, this study tries to figure out his basic method of reification of his basic architectural concept which is articulated in learning space and transitional space of education facilities by introducing the boundary element and penetration of light in order to support student's learning activity and foster abundant cognitive experiences. Therefore, this study presents the feasible supplementary design method for future education facilities to be appropriate not just for quantitative factors, but for qualititative aspects such as user's psychological fulfillment, and emotional satisfaction.

충북지역 초등학교의 다문화가정 학생을 위한 공간 특성 연구 (A Study of Spacial Traits for the Students from Multi-Cultural Families in Elementary Schools in North Chungcheong Province)

  • The number of foreign residents is expected to increase with the increase of international marriage in rural area and the avoidance of 3D jobs, which is also anticipated to cause various problems more serious. This kind of phenomenon will bring about the increase of the students from the multi-cultural families and a big change in the schools along with the decrease of the students in rural area. Currently, school's interest in and support for those students from multi-cultural families are focused on the promotion of their learning capability. However, I think that not just the support for the students from multi-cultural families but a new space for the two student-groups' smooth communication in schools is to be arranged. Accordingly, this study suggests. The support limited to educational programs for those students from multi-cultural families should be expanded to the school facilities. What kind of preparation should be done by school facilities in the future. There should be five steps of intermediate space with the additional function other than that of communication between Korean native students and those from multi-cultural families along with the utilization of existing rooms and space.

학생들의 과학긍정경험에 영향을 주는 과학교육 선도학교 특성에 대한 질적 탐구 (Qualitative Inquiry of Features of Science Education Leading Schools on Students' Positive Experiences about Science)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influences of science leading schools on primary and middle school students' positive experiences about science (PES) through in-depth interviews with teachers in charge of science leading schools. Science leading schools at the primary and middle school level such as Creative Convergent Science Labs and Student Participatory Science Classes were investigated and 11 teachers were participated in focus group interviews. Teacher in-depth interviews were conducted to explore the factors that led to the effectiveness of science leading schools in improving the student's PES in light of operational characteristics of science leading schools, characteristic factors of science leading schools on students PES, and improvement plans and requirements of science leading schools, as well as implications for general high schools. Science leading schools including Creative Convergent Science Labs and Student Participatory Science Classes applied for the leading school funding to secure supplies, equipments, and lab improvement for authentic science classes. In addition, reconstructed the curriculum more broadly than before, and emphasized and expanded student participatory classes and process-centered assessment at the teacher learning community level. Through student-participatory classes, the science leading schools stimulate students' interest in science, provide students with PES) through various instructions including projects, engage students in interesting science experiences in Creative Convergent Science Labs, and enhance inquiry skills and PES as well as science content knowledge. Based on the results, ways to spread the characteristics of science leading schools to general schools are suggested including expanding budget support, securing the space of science labs and improving spatial composition, providing diverse teaching and learning materials, diversifying assessment subjects and methods, and the necessity of teachers' continuous professional development, etc.

지식상태 분석법을 통한 예비 물리교사들의 학년별 물리개념 위계도 분석 (A Look at the Physics Concept Hierarchy of Pre-service Physics Teacher Through the Knowledge State Analysis Method)

  • 평가는 학생들이 배워야 하는 가장 중요한 것들을 반영해야 한다. 지금까지 학교교육에서의 대부분의 평가는 학력의 측정에 목적을 두고 실시하였으며 설령 진단평가와 형성평가를 실시하였더라도 그 평가결과를 유용하게 활용하는 경우는 드물었다. 이러한 원인은 평가결과로부터 개인별 정보를 얻을 수 있는 도구가 없었기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 그동안의 평가결과로부터 얻을 수 없었던 집단별, 개인별 정보를 끄집어 낼 수 있는 평가도구를 소개하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 학생들의 평가결과를 지식공간론을 활용하여 분석하고, 이것으로부터 개인의 향후 학습지도를 위한 이정표를 제시하였다. 지식공간론은 수학이나 과학과 같이 비교적 위계관계가 강한 학문에 매우 유용하게 이용될 수 있으며, 평가를 통해 학생들이 구성하는 지식구조를 지식의 위계라는 관점에서 정확히 분석함으로써 효과적인 물리교육을 도모할 수 있다. 특히, 처리 과정을 컴퓨터시스템을 이용하여 정확하고 빠르게 처리할 수 있음은 물론 객관적 타당도를 높이고 많은 양의 자료를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있다. 더 나아가서 개개인에 대해 실질적으로 도움을 줄 수 있는 피드백을 제시하여 학생들의 이해를 증진시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 물리 성취도 평가 문항에 대하여 지식공간론을 적용하여 예비 물리교사들의 학년별 평가결과를 분석하고, 그 결과를 토대로 향후 물리교육을 위한 효율적인 교육과정 개발에 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

Intervening in Mathematics Group Work in the Middle Grades

  • Over the last three decades, there has been an increasingly strong emphasis on group-centered approaches to mathematics teaching. One primary responsibility for teachers who use group-centered instruction is to "check in", or intervene, with groups to monitor group learning and provide mathematical support when necessary. While prior research has contributed valuable insight for successful teacher interventions in mathematics group work, there is a need for more fine-grained analyses of interactions between teachers and students. In this study, we co-conducted research with an exemplary middle grade teacher (Ms. Green) to learn about fine-grained details of her intervention practices, hoping to generate knowledge about successful teacher interventions that can be expanded, replicated, and/or contradicted in other contexts. Analyzing Ms. Green's practices as an exemplary case, we found that she used exceptionally short interventions (35 seconds on average), provided space for student dialogue, and applied four distinct strategies to support groups to make mathematical progress: (1) observing/listening before speaking; (2) using a combination of social and analytic scaffolds; (3) redirecting students to task instructions; (4) abruptly walking away. These findings imply that successful interventions may be characterized by brevity, shared dialogue between the teacher and students, and distinct (and sometimes unnatural) teaching moves.

Student Motivation and Interests as Proxies for Forming STEM Identities

  • This research investigated the motivation and interests of a sample of predominately-underrepresented populations to better understand whether informal STEM learning experiences offer support for developing STEM identities. A valid and reliable three-section self-reporting survey was administered to 169 secondary students as the primary data source. Identity was used as a theoretical lens along with descriptive statistics to reveal students' perceived benefits of the informal STEM learning experience, a Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program in the western U.S., for improving their understanding of science, mathematics, and engineering concepts, increasing their interest in science, mathematics, and engineering careers, and increasing their belief of the importance of these STEM disciplines. In summary, the findings emerging, considered alongside current identity research, suggest that informal STEM learning experiences offer students from underrepresented STEM populations the space needed for successful STEM identity bids, either for future career pursuits or participation in a STEM literate populace as a non-STEM professional societal member.

에듀테크 기반 학교도서관활용교육 설계 모형 개발 (Development of a Design Model for School Library-based Instruction under EduTech)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 에듀테크 기반 학교도서관활용교육 설계 모형을 제안하는 것이다. 에듀테크 기반 교육은 학습 경계를 확장하고, 학습자 중심의 디퍼러닝을 위한 새로운 수업 환경과 학습 경험을 필요로 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 체제이론에 기반을 둔 ADDIE 모형을 수정하여 '분석 단계, 사전 학습 및 개발 단계, 수업 운영 단계, 협동수업 평가 단계'로 구성된 4단계 교수 설계 모형(안)을 제시하였다. 이 모형은 플립러닝과 백워드 교수 설계 요소 및 탐구기반학습 요소를 반영하여 학생 맞춤형 자료 개발과 탐구활동이 이루어지도록 하였다. 또한, 학습의 범위를 사전 학습, 대면 학습, 추가 학습으로 확대하여, 협동수업의 다양성을 도모하였다. 그리고 에듀테크 환경에서 학교도서관활용교육 활성화 방안을 사서교사의 전문성, 학교도서관 공간, 예산, 표준 교육과정 개발 및 독서교육종합지원시스템 측면에서 제안하였다.

효율적인 학급 경영을 위한 학급 경영 지원시스템의 설계 및 구현 (A Design and Implementation of Class Management Support System for Effective Class Management)

  • 정보사회가 가져온 변화로 보다 더 효율적으로 학급을 경영할 수 있는, 학급경영 지원시스템으로서의 사이버 공간이 필요한 시점이 되었다. 본 연구는 Web 기반의 학급경영 지원시스템을 설계하고 구현하여 바람직한 인터넷 활용 방향을 모색하고 보다 더 효율적인 학급경영을 이끌어 낼 수 있도록 하였다. 학급 경영 과업 중에서 Web에서 구현 가능한 내용을 적용하여, 인터넷 활용을 보다 더 교육적인 방법으로 유도하고, 올바른 인성 함양, Web 자원의 학습적 활용, 학생을 특기와 적성을 신장시켜, 시간적 공간적 제약을 벗어나 학급경영의 지원 역할을 충분히 할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 시스템을 적용하여 학생들이 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 이끌어 낼 때 한 차원 높은 학급 경영이 이루어지는 계기가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
