고속용 판토그래프의 개념설계 (Concept Design of the Pantograph for High Speed Trains)

  • Conceptual design of the pantograph for high speed trains of 350km/h is introduced. The aims to be accomplished in the concept design are the good dynamic performance, low noise, aero-dynamic stability. The resulting mechanism of the pantograph have single-arm type structure with bebel gears to reduce noise sources, symmetric structure for the aero-dynamic stability and the special panhead assembly to obtain good dynamic performances.

The Five Laws of Library Science from a Japanese Angle

  • The Five Laws of Library Science was introduced into Japan in 1935. After World War II, it was widely disseminated among young librarians by the education for librarianship developed in the 1950's. Its concept, "Books for All," met a serious opposition from local authorities based on their long continued concept of "preservation." After they realized that people eagerly use local libraries, they interpreted that the duty of public library was "lending books." They introduced "Privatization" of libraries into quite a few local libraries in order to save money. For overcoming problems, it is important to disseminate the library concept among the public, the assembly members and government officials planning to change their attitude of disregarding libraries. As the fundamental library philosophy, the Five Laws of Library Science is important. In the commentary of the Five Laws written by the present writer, he included an illustration of triangle pyramid showing the structure of the Five Laws. He included here the spiral of study on the library and the library science, based on the Section 814 of the Five Laws. He welcomes discussions on his Japanese angle from different viewpoints in order to develop further understanding of the Five Laws.

동무(東武)의 인간론(人間論)에서 접근한 사상구조(四象構造) 분석(分析) (The Analysis on Lee Je-Ma's Sasang Structure Which Focused on Human)

  • 1. Objectives This Study is to comprehend the Sasang structure created by Lee Je-Ma. 2. Methods We analyzed $\ulcorner$Dongyisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)$\lrcorner$ & $\ulcorner$Gyukchigo(格致藁)$\lrcorner$ which contain the contents of 'Heaven-Human-Narure-Order(天人性命), and 'Affairs-Mind-Body-Objects(事心身物)'. 3. Results and Conclusions 1) The structure of Sasang is divided into two, which are 'Talent(才能的 部分)-Action(行爲的 部分)' and 'Self examination(正己的 部分)-Perception of mankind(知人的 部分)'. 2) 'Talent-Action' is the ontological structure of the Sasang. 'Self examination-Perception of mankind' is the administrative structure of the Sasang. 3) The ontological structure of Sasang is essential concept which is explaining the existence of mankind. An administrative strucrure of Sasang is operative concept which makes human as oneself. 4) It is necessary to have the insight to organize these four parts into the one organic whole if one has to comprehend the profound meaning of Sasang. 5) Four parts of Sasang structure could be matched as 'Heaven(天)-Affairs(事), Human(人)-Objects(物)', 'Nature (性)-Mind(心), Order(命)-Body(身)'.

경계구조로 본 향단에 관한 연구 (The study on the characteristics of Hyang-Dan focused on the boundary structure)

  • This study was intended to define the spatial concept of the boundary structure of the architectural space as well as evaluate the Hyangdan which well represents the features of Korean traditional building in such a way of reviewing the building structure of Korean traditional residential space. The boundary is categorized into visible boundary and invisible boundary which was also functionally classified into the features of isolating, passing, mediating and overlapping. The major elements comprising the boundary structure was analyzed by the characteristic of the pattern so as to define them as the concept of surrounding, duality, hierarchism, continuity and overlapping. Based on such concepts, a boundary structural characteristics of Hyangdan were reevaluated and outlined as follows. The surrounding feature was seen through the outer side of the structure surrounded, two courtyards and eaves, and a duality showing both the closure of main house and openness of detached house was seen through the characteristics of surrounding structure. And the continuous activities toward the inner room and the empty space to link them in a systematic way and repeatedly aligned rooms reveal the overlapping as continuous and transitional space. And finally, an elevated stylobate demonstrates the hierarchical features of the structure.

'식물의 구조와 기능'에 대한 초등학교 아동들의 지식구조와 학습성향과의 관계 (Relationships between Learning Modes and Knowledge Structures of Primary School Children: Reflected on the Concept Maps of the 'Structure and Function of Plant' Unit)

  • 본 연구는 '식물의 구조와 기능' 단원의 학습 전 아동의 지식구조와 학습과정 및 학습 종료 7개월 후까지의 지식구조의 변화를 아동의 학습성향(유의미학습과 암기학습)과 관련지워 조사한 것이다. 연구단원과 관련된 기존의 지식구조를 알아보기 위하여 5학년 아동들에게 1차 개념도를 그리게 하고, 매 4차시 수업후 각각의 개념도를 그리게 했다. 그리고 지식구조의 지속효과를 알아보기 위하여 단원 학습이 종료된 직후와 3개월, 7개월 후에도 각각의 개념도를 그리게 했다. 학습과정 동안에는 기존의 개념도를 근거로 하여 개념도를 그리게 하였으며, 단원 학습 종료 후에는 기존의 개념도가 제시되지 않은 상태에서 개념도를 그리게 하였다. 아동들이 그린 각각의 개념도는 그 당시의 식물의 구조와 기능에 대한 이해 정도를 나타내었다. 초등학교 5학년 아동들은 '식물의 구조와 기능' 단원의 학습에 들어가기 전에 이와 관련된 여러 가지 개념들로 이루어진 사전 지식구조를 가지고 있으나 그 중 과학적으로 타당한 것은 개념도 상에서 2단계의 위계와 5개의 관계에 불과하였다. 한 단원의 학습이 진행되어감에 따라 아동들의 지식구조는 꾸준히 그리고 점진적으로 증가였다. 그러나 이러한 증가는 학습성향에 따라 차이를 보이며, 유의미 학습자가 암기 학습자보다 더 많이 증가하였다(관계, 연관, 예: p < .01, 위계: p < .05). 지식구조의 변화에 있어서 학습성향간에 다소 차이가 있으나 재구조화는 단원 학습의 초기에 높은 빈도로 일어났으며, 말기에는 전혀 일어나지 않았다. 조정은 유의미 학습자보다 암기 학습자에서 더 많이 일어나고 확장은 이와 반대로 유의미 학습자에서 더 많이 일어났다. 암기 학습자의 개념도 점수는 단원 학습을 마친 후 시간이 경과함에 따라 모든 범주에서 차츰 감소하였다. 그러나 유의미 학습자의 경우 단원 학습 후 3개월보다 7개월에서 오히려 소폭 증가했다. 그러므로 대체로 암기 학습자가 학습과정에서 새로이 구축하고자 하는 더 분화되고 정교한 지식구조가 유의미 학습자보다 불안정한 상태에 있으며, 지식구조의 분화 정도도 유의미 학습자에 비해 낮다고 할 수 있다.

  • `Desire` in this study is not something desire in the used to be-way we can deal with it. This study is to figure out 'desire structure' of interior architecture as a significant measure to interpret the Lacan's desire theory. It is also examines Lacan's concept of desire as defined in the mechanisms of language, in relation to architecture and interior architecture, and in the concept of the objet a(the unattainable object of desire), in the structure of desire as it can be seen in interior architecture. In particular, it analyzed that the desire structure have influenced on some kind of specific desire types what is expressed a characteristic to interior spaces of intimacy, perpetuity, representation, expression. These types reveal the characteristics of desire structure in inner space of interior architecture through negativing and fantasying. The focus on the structure becomes a major issue in almost many kinds of contemporary knowledge-system that starts from the mind to go out to the space in a material or non-meterial(spiritual) way. Therefore, the desire structure reconstructs the Real to make itself through negative and fantastic creation-process. It is important that desire characteristics help detect behind beneath the singularity of interior spaces more than what we know.

전복 안전성 향상을 위한 고속 버스 차체 개발 프로세스에 관한 연구 (A Study for Developing Process of a Bus Body Structure for the Rollover Safety)

  • Bus manufacturers have tested and studied the dynamic collapse behavior of a bus body structure in rollover since UN ECE established ECE Regulation 66 to provide the requirement for the strength of bus structure. In spite of the costly cycles of practical tests, however, it is still a hard task to meet the rollover regulation by means of local reinforcements in the bus structure. Therefore it is necessary to develop a well designed strategy for the rollover strength implemented in the early stage of vehicle development. In this study, the suitable development method for each design stage from a component to complete body structure was considered to make a well-established development process of a bus body structure for rollover safety. For the efficient approach of the concept design stage, a numerical model based on the plastic hinge theory was used instead of detailed shell models. After setting up the concept design for the component size and geometry, the shell model was used to confirm and optimize the whole structure composition. The process developed in this study was practically used as an effective method to predict the rollover behavior of a new bus body structure.

  • The calcium-induced structural changes in the skeletal muscle regulatory protein troponin C (NTnC) involve a transition from a ‘closed’to an ‘open’structure with the concomitant exposure of a large hydrophobic interaction site for target proteins. Structural studies have served to define this conformational change and elucidate the mechanism of the linkage between calcium binding and the induced structural changes. There are now several structures of NTnC available from both NMR and X-ray crystallography. Comparison of the calcium bound structures reveals differences in the level of opening. We have considered the concept of a flexible open state of NTnC as a possible explanation for this apparent discrepancy. We also present simulations of the closed-to-open transition which are in agreement with the flexibility concept and with experimental energetics data.

  • A new concept of collision energy absorbing system for ;he New Oil-tankers with Advanced Double Hull Structure(NOAHS and NOAHS II) are presented through the joint-research pro-gran between Inha and Hamburg-Harburg University. A comparative study on col vision resistance of these proposed side structures with standard double hull structure of 310K DWT class VLCC, is carried out. The fatigue investigation of structural detail parts is also included. It contains a comparative fatigue study based on pertinent regulations of Classification Societies.
