알루미늄 압출재를 사용한 철도차량차체의 단위 압출재 최적설계 (An Optimal Design for Truss Core Unit of Railway Carbody of Aluminum Extrusion Plate)

  • To make railway carbody light in weight has advantages at some aspects of both manufacturing and maintenance. Recently, railway carbodys of steel structure have been lightened their weight by using aluminum extrusion plate. for the additional lightening of railway carbody, an optimal design which maintains proper strength and minimizes weight must be achieved. Optimization which is used with finite element analysis for aluminum extrusion plate has the disadvantage of consuming much time. In this paper, the method of equivalent material property which is available to FEA code is established using the method of equivalent stiffness. This method for plate is expanded into the method for railway carbody structure with plates and shells. An objective function is established for maximum stiffness of unit aluminum extrusion plate using established method of equivalent material property. We performed an multi-objective optimization using the penalty function method. As a result, recommendable shapes and sizes of unit extrusion plate for under-frame of high speed train is presented.

지역기후특성을 고려한 비닐온실에 관한연구 (Study on the palstic green houses depending on regional weather conditions)

  • Most Plastic Green Houses in Korea are made according the European weather condition, which lead to have very low solar energy efficiency. Moreover, the function of green houses, as well as the structure of them, has not changed for Korean weather condition. Therefore, the structure and function of them should adopt the regional weather condition in order to improve the energy efficiency. This paper investigates the current plastic green housesin Korea, and presents an alternative for improving the energy efficiency. The elements of green houses were investigated. When using a partial opaque insulation with a thermal storage body, the difference of indoor air temperature became 20C during daytime, and 5C during night, which will save massive fossil fuels.

엔진제어를 위한 수학적 모델의 컴퓨터 해석 (Computer Analysis of Mathematical Model for Engine Control)

  • The structure of engine and its interaction are investigated and the construction of mathematical model for the performance evaluation is presented and then simulated. The total system is classified as air-fuel inlet element, intake manifold, combustion, and engine dynamics and their control function are schematically evaluated. Because of the model structure with general engine function and computer simulation of the chosen engine, physical characteristics of the corresponding engine and the engine data of normal operation state are used. According to the study, it is possible to predict the mixture rate by by the difference in the mass of fuel and air into cylinder and to evaluate and trace dynamic characteristic of operation state under various operating condition. The model characteristic under the transient operating condition makes it possible to effectively evaluate the operation of actual engine through the result of simulation.

  • In this paper, a modified RBF (Radial Basis Function) neural network structure is suggested for the prediction of time series with non-linear, non-stationary characteristics. Conventional RBF neural network predicting time series by using past outputs is for sensing the trajectory of the time series and for reacting when there exists strong relation between input and hidden neuron's RBF center. But this response is highly sensitive to level and trend of time serieses. In order to overcome such dependencies, hidden neurons are modified to react to the increments of input variable and multiplied by increments(or decrements) of out puts for prediction. When the suggested structure is applied to prediction of Lorenz equation, and Rossler equation, improved performances are obtainable.

  • The purpose of this study is to design a flexural structure that has a function of pan and tilt for an artificial eyeball. The artificial eyeball system has a function of image stabilization, which compensate panning and tilting vibration of the body on which the artificial eyeball is attached. The target closed loop control bandwidth is 50Hz, so the mechanical resonance frequency is required to be more than the control bandwidth, which is a tough design problem because of a big mass of camera and actuator. In this study, the design process including the selection of the principal parameters by numerical analysis with ANSYS will be described, as well as the design results and frequency response.

  • This paper proposes a variable structure position controller for an induction motor(IM) which uses a reaching law and an integral compensating nonlinear switching function. With the reaching law, reaching mode can be established quantitatively during transient state so that dynamic control performance is improved. With the integral compensating nonlinear switching function, both very low overshoot and high steady state control accuracy can be obtained by compensating the states chattering problem due to the unmodelled dynamics of inverter and feedback sensors. For experiment a digital servo driver which consists of a DSP and an IPM inverter was developed. With the various experimental results, IM position control performance was verified.

A Fast Calculation of Apparent Soil Resistivity Using Exponential Sampling Method

  • The apparent soil resistivity is used for estimating multilayer soil parameters, such as, layer's depth and soil resistivity. The soil parameters are estimated by continuously revising those parameters until the error between the measured and calculated apparent soil resistivity reaches to allowable level. The equation for calculating the apparent soil resistivity is complicated and time consumed, because it is composed of an infinite integral which includes a zero order Bessel's function of the first kind. In this paper, a fast algorithm for calculating the apparent soil resistivity of horizontal multilayer earth structure is proposed using exponential sampling method.

  • This paper investigate the optimum thickness distribution of plate structure with different essential boundary conditions in the fundamental natural frequency maximization problem. In this study, the fundamental natural frequency is considered as the objective function to be maximized and the initial volume of structures is used as the constraint function. The computer-aided geometric design (CAGD) such as Coon's patch representation is used to represent the thickness distribution of plates. A reliable degenerated shell finite element is adopted calculate the accurate fundamental natural frequency of the plates. Robust optimization algorithms implemented in the optimizer DoT are adopted to search optimum thickness values during the optimization iteration.   • This paper suggest an optimal identification method to complex and nonlinear system modeling that is based on Fuzzy-Neural Network(FNN). The FNN modeling implements parameter identification using HCM algorithm and optimal identification algorithm structure combined with two types of optimization theories for nonlinear systems, we use a HCM Clustering Algorithm to find initial parameters of membership function. The parameters such as parameters of membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using optimal identification algorithm. The proposed optimal identification algorithm is carried out using both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. Also, an aggregate objective function(performance index) with weighted value is proposed to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the time series data for gas furnace, the data of sewage treatment process and traffic route choice process.

새로운 구조의 L-K함수를 이용한 시간 지연 선형시스템의 시간 종속 안정성 (Delay Dependent Stability of Time-delayed Linear Systems using New Structure of L-K Funciton)

  • In this paper, we consider the stability of linear systems without delay decomposition. A less conservative result obtained without delay decomposition is strongly required since it is a basis to get an improved result by applying simple delay decomposition. Unlike the most popular Lyapunov-Krasovski(L-K) function, we consider the cross terms between variables. Based on this new structure of L-K function, we derive a delay-dependent stability criterion in the form of linear matrix inequality(LMI). Finally, we show, by well-known two examples, that our result is less conservative than the recent results.
