  • We as a civil investment enterprise have been constructing In-cheon International Airport Railway which is a transportation means to approach In-cheon International Airport. In this alignment. a section between the Seoul station and Ka-joa follows the existing Yong-san line at the center of Seoul city and traverses Seoul subway 2,5,6 lines. So we planned that the alignment would have the shallowest depth to lie under Kyung-eui line and above the airport railroad. The alignment is planned to construct an open-box structure only 3.6m apart from the subway line 5 tunnel structure and construct the open-box structure 0.7m apart from the subway line 2 box structure. In the line planning, we investigated both the security of the existing subway structures during and after construction and the stability and workability between newly structured tunnel structures with three dimensions numerical analysis methods. Also we raised the reliability of design verification which was achieved by specialty society's review on the planned construction method.

  • In this paper, an initial fine alignment algorithm, which is developed for the strap-down inertial navigation systems of satellite launch vehicles, is considered. For fast and accurate alignment, a simple closed-loop estimation algorithm using a proportional-integral controller is introduced. Through computer simulation for the sway condition in the launch pad, it is shown that a simple filter structure can guarantee fast computational speed that is adequate for real-time implementation as well as the required alignment accuracy and robustness. In addition, its implementation results are presented for the Naro-1 flight test.

  • We need to study about lower extremity alignment because the structure dictates the function of lower extremity. Through lower extremity alignment assessment in static posture, we recognize abnormal structural conditions which could affect dynamic motion such as gait. To evaluate of lower extremity alignment provide so many useful information, but method of measurement is so limited. Therefore, this review will assist understanding for measurement of lower extremity alignment in static posture. From now on study about the objective measurement method must be achieved much more in physical therapy.

  • We propose a soft-lithographic patterning method for producing a multi-domain liquid crystal (LC) alignment. The LC alignment polyimide layers are periodically patterned in the pixel boundaries by a micromolding-in-capillaries method. In our structure, the initially homeotropic LC orientations in the pixel areas are changed to axially symmetric LC domains due to the symmetric pretilt of LC molecules on the pixel boundaries.

  • The horizontal alignment of road is deeply related with the stability of the road and traffic capacity. It is necessary to analyze horizontal alignment of road accurately for efficient maintenance of the road and relevance judgment about the standard. Recently the study on horizontal alignment of road using Lidar data and GPS was concluded, but they were many problem analyzing horizontal alignment radius of curvature in wide area. In this study, the tool which the radius of curvature can evaluate the suitability about "Rules about the Road Structure & Facilities Standards" by using center lines of the road of the digital map tries to implement on GIS. The interface was designed and implemented which can automatically estimate the Road Centerline Horizontal Alignment by using $ESRI^{(R)}$ $ArcObject^{TM}$.

  • Recently, it is much more required to approach the accurate shaft alignment analysis according to the tendency of active showing in large container vessel and that of the heavy weight of propeller in connection with it. Shaft alignment calculation lies upon how the pressure apply on bearings properly in operation of main engine and how the stress of shaft puts within that of limit of bearing material and how the movement of shaft is prospected owing to propeller forces and moments. Therefore, we have conducted the shaft alignment calculation of very large container vessel considering the deformation of hull structure and the propeller forces and moments and the static and dynamic condition of shaft. The calculation results show the pressure distribution of aft bush and the movement of shaft in bearing. The shaft alignment calculation helps the stable application of shaft alignment, which was proved in sea trial.

  • The fabrication of liquid crystal display (LCD) panels involves several thermal processes such as imidization of the alignment layer (AL) and annealing of the rubbed polyimide AL. The nature of these processes on the LC alignment, especially on the pretilt angle (Θ$\_$p/) has been systematically studied, employing various types of polyimide structures. The imidization effect depends on the nature of polyimid precursors; Θ$\^$p/ increases with the degree of the imidization for the main-chain type of ALs, due to the decrease in the surface polarity, but this relation is not applicable to the alkylated ones in which the steric effect at the AL surface by the aliphatic side chains is dominant. Annealing of the rubbed polyimide AL deteriorates its rubbing-induced molecular orientation and subsequently the overlying LC alignment, resulting in the decrease in Θ$\_$p/. Especially, annealing of the LC cell affects the LC-AL interaction as well as the AL orientation and thus its effect on LC alignment depends sensitively on the nature of LC-polyimide interface; aromatic moiety in the polyimide structure gives better thermal stability of LC alignment while fluorinated polyimide ALs induce the less stable alignment.

  • As BIM has been widely used in the field of architecture, efforts to apply BIM to civil engineering structures are increasing rapidly. Since commercial BIM softwares are focused on building structure, it is difficult to apply to alignment-based civil infrastructures. In this study, we proposed a method to generate an information model that reflects cant by sharing information between alignment-centered modeling tools and BIM authoring tools to manage information of railway track. The railway track modeling process consists of classifying structures into continuous and non-continuous structures, creating continuous structures by alignment-centered modeling tools, and using the shared alignment information to generate information model of the non-continuous structures. Non-continuous structures were generated by an algorithm that calculates the position and rotation information of each structure based on discretized railway alignment and cant information transmitted to the BIM authoring tools. The availabilities of proposed method were studied by applying to the osong test-line. Using the test model, it was shown that the objects were identified, the properties were extracted, and the quantities of each structure were calculated.

  • We propose an optical configuration of a vertical alignment (VA) liquid crystal (LC) cell to eliminate the light leakage in the diagonal direction. VA LC cell has an excellent contrast ratio in the normal direction due to the no phase-retardation. However, change of the phase-retardation occurs in all directions, which causes the light leakage and deteriorates the characteristics of the dark state. We designed the LC cell structure composed of multiple combinations with two A-plates and two C-plates in order to achieve wide viewing property on the Poincare sphere. From calculations, we show that the proposed structure can improve the viewing angle characteristics by compensating for the light leakage in all directions.
