  • Many real world problems can be modeled as a graph and traversals on the graph. The structure of Web pages can be represented as a graph, for example, and user's navigation paths on the Web pages can be model as a traversal on the graph. It is interesting to discover valuable patterns, such as frequent patterns, from such traversals. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to discover frequent traversal patterns when a directed graph and weighted traversals on the graph are given. Furthermore, we propose a performance enhancement by traversal split and then verify it through experiments.

  • Titanium doping is employed to enhance the structural strength of a high-Ni layered cathode material in lithium ion batteries during high temperature cycling. After Ti-doping, the external morphology remains similar, but the lattice parameters of the layered structure are slightly shifted toward larger values. With application of the prepared materials as cathodes in lithium-ion batteries, the initial capacities are similar but the cycling performance at $25^{\circ}C$ is enhanced by Ti-doping. During high temperature cycling at $60^{\circ}C$, furthermore, highly improved capacity retention is achieved with the Ti-doped material (95% of initial capacity at 50th cycles), while cycle fading is accelerated with the bare electrode. This enhancement is attributed to better retention of the compressive strength of the particles and retarded crack formation within the particles. In addition, impedance increase is reduced in the Ti-doped electrode, which is attributed to an improvement in the structural strength of the high-Ni cathode material with Ti-doping.

  • One of the critical parameters to improve the output power for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) is the surface charge density. In this work, we modify the tribo-material of TENG by introducing the $TiO_x$ embedded Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) in anatase and rutile phase. The effect of dielectric constant and electronic structure of the $TiO_x$ on the capacitance of TENG and the output power as well are discussed. The surface charge density is increased as the control of the dielectric constant in difference weight percent of $TiO_x$ and PDMS. As the results of that, the 5% $TiO_x$ rutile phase and 7% $TiO_x$ anatase phase embedded PDMS exhibit the highest TENG output. The peak value of voltage/current obtained from $TiO_x$ rutile and anatase phase are ${\sim}180V/8.2{\mu}A$ and $211.6V/8.7{\mu}A$, respectively, at the external force of 5 N and working frequency of 5 Hz, which gives over 12-fold and 15-fold power enhancement compared with the TENG based on the pristine PDMS film. This study provides a better understanding for TENG performance enhancement from the materials view.

  • In order to present the enhancement direction for the military administrative facilities, that can satisfy the user demands and achieve cost-effectiveness the goal of public projects, this research analyzes the features of functional spaces using Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP). Basically, the scope is selected to four facilities commander office, private office, public office, and meeting room, because they have an effect on military administrative facilities. Since the space is established by a combination of their own functions, this research begins with an analysis of functional spaces of military administrative facilities, which is verified through literature review and interview with expert. Thereafter, an AHP survey is conducted to military personnel to analyze the priority of functional spaces and to re-classify the functional spaces of each Military administrative facilities. Resultingly, the difference of functional spaces preference according to ranks and facility type are identified. Even though the same military facilities, it means that user satisfaction is different. Therefore, user satisfaction should be considered for each facility at the construction plan. It can minimize overlapped and unused spaces, which can help ensure cost-effectiveness. Consequently, this research suggested the methodology and the process that can take user satisfaction and can support the enhancement of military facilities standards.

  • To derive grid lines for analyzing a table layout, line image enhancement techniques are studying such as various filtering or morphology methods. In spite of line image enhancement, it is still hard to extract line components and to express table cell's layout logically in which the cutting points are exist on the line or the tables are skewing . In this paper, we proposed a line tracking algorithm to extract line components under the cutting points on the line or the skewing lines. The table document layout analysis algorithm is prepared by searching grid-lines, line crossing points and gird-cell using line tracking algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed method derive 96.4% table document analysis result with average 0.41sec processing times.

  • Remote sensing wave observation data are crucial when analyzing ocean waves, the main external force of coastal disasters. Nevertheless, it has limitations in accuracy when used in low-wind environments. Therefore, this study collected the raw data from MIROS Wave and Current Radar (MWR) and wave radar at the Ieodo Ocean Research Station (IORS) and applied the optimal filter by combining filters provided by MIROS software. The data were validated by a comparison with South Jeju ocean buoy data. The results showed it maintained accuracy for significant wave height, but errors were observed in significant wave periods and extreme waves. Hence, this study used an artificial neural network (ANN) to improve these errors. The ANN was generalized by separating the data into training and test datasets through stratified sampling, and the optimal model structure was derived by adjusting the hyperparameters. The application of ANN effectively improved the accuracy in significant wave periods and high wave conditions. Consequently, this study reproduced past wave data by enhancing the reliability of the MWR, contributing to understanding wave generation and propagation in storm conditions, and improving the accuracy of wave prediction. On the other hand, errors persisted under high wave conditions because of wave shadow effects, necessitating more data collection and future research.

  • Silk fibroin (SF) fiber from the Antheraea pernyi silkworm was treated with a 1.23 N iodine-potassium iodide ($I_2-KI$) aqueous solution, and the structure and physical properties were investigated to clarify the effects of the iodine treatment. The noticeably high weight gain value of SF fiber, about 25 wt% was attributed to the absorption of polyiodide ions in the form of $I_3{^-}\;and\;I_5{^-}$. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction measurements suggested that polyiodide ions mainly entered the amorphous region. In addition, a new sharp reflection on the meridional direction, corresponding to a period of $7.0{\AA}$, was observed and indicated the possibility of the formation of mesophase structure of ${\beta}$-conformation chains. Dynamic viscoelastic measurements showed that the damping tan ${\delta}$ peak at $270^{\circ}C$ gradually shifted to lower temperature in the iodinated SF fibers, suggesting an enhancement of the molecular motion of the fibroin chains induced by the presence of polyiodide ions. With heating above $254^{\circ}C$, the iodine component introduced intermolecular cross-linking of SF, and the melt flow of the sample was inhibited. The thermal decomposition stability of fibroin molecules was greatly enhanced by iodine treatment.

  • We propose a cell structure for the fast switching of liquid crystals by the fringe field. By forming protrusion between patterned electrodes, we can obtain enhancement of response time. The protrusion reduces the effective cell gap, with which a fast response time can be realized. There is little decrease in the transmittance because the protrusion is located between patterned electrodes. We confirmed that the total response time can be decreased by 33% with little loss of the transmittance by optimizing the shape of the protrusion structure.

  • A triple-probe channel type chemosensor based on an $NO_2S_2$-macrocycle functionalized with phenyltricyanovinyl group was synthesized and its sensing characteristics were examined. The pink-red solution of L changed selectively to pale yellow upon addition of $Hg^{2+}$. The selective fluorometric response of L to all the tested metal ions was studied. The results showed that a large enhancement of the fluorescence of L was observed only in the case of $Hg^{2+}$. In addition, L showed large anodic shift (~ 0.3 V) for the addition of excess $Hg^{2+}$. Through above three observed results by the different techniques, we confirmed that the proposed chemosensor acts as the multiple-probe channel sensing material. The crystal structure of mercury(II) nitrate complexs of L which shows a 1-D polymer network with a formula $[Hg_2(L)_2(NO_3)_2({\mu}-NO_3)_2]_n$ was also reported.
