To predict vibrational energy density of simple structural-acoustic coupled systems in medium-to-high frequency ranges, Power Flow Finite Element Method(PFFEM) is used, and PFFEM sofiware, PFADS has been developed for the vibration predictions and analysis of coupled system structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges. However, it needs to consider vibro-acoustic coupled analysis to get more accurate results. Prior to implement vibro-acoustic coupled analysis functions in PFADS, research on vibro-acoustic coupled analysis using PFFEH is performed for simple models. These predictions include the indirect transmission path associated, and also the direct transmission path, and the formulation is extended to structural system model by using appropriate modifications to structural-acoustic and acoustic-acoustic joint matrices. Concerning the waves in plate and acoustic, it is possible to calculate the structural-acoustic full matrix of a model using PFFEM, and the formulations developed are implemented for two rooms surrounded by plates.

Structural equation modeling is pointing to statistical procedures that simultaneously perform path analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Today, this statistical procedure is an essential tool for researchers in the social sciences. There are as (AMOS, LISREL and PLS) representative tools that can perform structural equation modeling analysis. AMOS provides a convenient graphical user interface for beginners to use. PLS has the advantage of not having a constraint on normal distribution as well as a graphical user interface. Therefore, we compared and analyzed the three most commonly used tools in social sciences. This study suggests practical and theoretical implications based on the results.
In this paper, both an approximate expression and an exact expression for the contribution factor of an element to the natural frequency of the finite element discretized system of a structure in general and a membrane in particular have been derived from the energy conservation principle and the finite element formulation of structural eigenvalue problems. The approximate expression for the contribution factor of an element is used to predict and determine the elements to be removed in an iteration since it depends only on the quantities associated with the old system in the iteration. The exact expression for the contribution factor of an element makes it possible to check whether the element is correctly removed at the end of an iteration because it depends on both the old system and the new system in the iteration. Thus, the combined use of the approximate expression and the exact expression allows a considerable number of elements to be removed in a single iteration so that the efficiency of the evolutionary structural optimization method can be greatly improved for solving the natural frequency optimization problem of a structure. A square membrane with different boundary supports has been chosen to investigate the general evolutionary path for the fundamental natural frequency of the structure. The related results indicated that if the objective of a structural optimization is to raise the fundamental natural frequency of the structure to an optimal value, the general evolutionary path during its optimization is that the elements are gradually removed along the direction from the area surrounded by the contour of the highest value to that surrounded by the contour of the lowest value.

To overcome the drawbacks of conventional load control method and displacement control method, the so-called volume control method was developed by utilizing a pressure node added into a finite shell element. In this study, an improved volume control method which can analyze path-dependant behaviors of RC shell structures subjected to cyclic loading effectively is developed. RC shell structures are discretized with layered shell elements and in-plane two dimensional constitutive equations for concrete and reinforcements are implemented for each layer of the shell elements. Validity of the so-called path dependant volume control method is also verified by comparing analysis results with other data including experimental results.

This paper is mainly forcused on the application of modal analysis In analyze the geometrically non-linear buckling behaviors of large span spatial structures, and the evaluation of each eigen mode affected post-buckling behaviors and buckling loads. Modal analysis is applied . to derivation of the system matrices transforming actual displacement space into generalized coordinates space represented by coefficients multiplied in the linear combination of eigen modes which are independent and orthogonal each other. By using modal analysis method, it will be expected to save the calculating time by computer extremely. For example, we can obtain the satisfactorily good results by using about 7% of total eigen modes only in case of single layer latticed dome. And we can decrease the possibility of divergence on the bifurcation point in the calculation of post-buckling path. Arc-length method and Newton-Raphson iteration method are used to calculate the nonlinear equilibrium path.

In this paper, a general method for the automatic search for Strut-and-Tie (S&T) models representative of possible resistant mechanisms in reinforced concrete elements is proposed. The representativeness criterion here adopted is inspired to the principle of minimum strain energy and requires the consistency of the model with a reference stress field. In particular, a highly indeterminate pin-jointed framework of a given layout is generated within the assigned geometry of the concrete element and an optimum truss is found by the minimisation of a suitable objective function. Such a function allows us to search the optimum truss according to a reference stress field deduced through a F.E.A. and assumed as representative of the given continuum. The theoretical principles and the mathematical formulation of the method are firstly explained; the search for a S&T model suitable for the design of a deep beam shows the method capability in handling the reference stress path. Finally, since the analysis may consider the structure as linear-elastic or cracked and non-linear in both the component materials, it is shown how the proposed procedure allows us to verify the possibilities of activation of the design model, oriented to the serviceability condition and deduced in the linear elastic field, by following the evolution of the resistant mechanisms in the cracked non-linear field up to the structural failure.
Shallow fixed arches have a nonlinear primary equilibrium path with limit points and an unstable postbuckling equilibrium path, and they may also have bifurcation points at which equilibrium bifurcates from the nonlinear primary path to an unstable secondary equilibrium path. When a shallow fixed arch is subjected to a central step load, the load imparts kinetic energy to the arch and causes the arch to oscillate. When the load is sufficiently large, the oscillation of the arch may reach its unstable equilibrium path and the arch experiences an escaping-motion type of dynamic buckling. Nonlinear dynamic buckling of a two degree-of-freedom arch model is used to establish energy criteria for dynamic buckling of the conservative systems that have unstable primary and/or secondary equilibrium paths and then the energy criteria are applied to the dynamic buckling analysis of shallow fixed arches. The energy approach allows the dynamic buckling load to be determined without needing to solve the equations of motion.
In this paper, we have presented structural analysis procedure and full scale test results for 4-seater canard airplane. Construction of the finite element model is critical path for the aircraft structural analysis and directly affects the structural integrity. The refinement of the finite element model should be determined depending on full scale test results. From the results of the structural analysis, 5 design limit loads test conditions and 11 design ultimate loads test conditions were selected. By the presented procedure, the structural integrity of 4-Seater Canard Airplane is successfully obtained.
This paper describes the acoustic analysis of mid duty truck. The focus of the analysis is on structure borne engine noise with major contributions of 2nd order. It has been previously recognized that the noise contribution of each transfer path of structure borne noise can be varied with the charateristics of each mounts and vibro acoustic sensitivity of car body. The structure of car body will be split up into three major sub components, which are modeled separately, the engine, the frame and the cab. The acoustic performance is evaluated on three levels: engine to frame transfer, frame to cab transfer, and panel contribution from cab to driver. In order to perform these analyses, analytical models are created for the engine, frame, cab and acoustic cavity. The models are linked through a coupled fluid structure calculation, and through FRF Based Substructuring for the structural couplings. Based on the structural coupling calculations, a transfer path analysis is performed to identify the most important transfer paths. These paths are then the focussing points for applying modifications to the structure or the mount system. Finally, a number of modification are proposed and their effect is quantified.
This paper describes a mini linear optical pickup actuator. To reduce the size, inner yokes are designed to guide the mover and outer yokes of permanent magnets are removed. Magnetic circuit method is used to determine the thrust force. Virtual path method is proposed to analyze the open magnetic circuit analysis. The magnetic circuit of the proposed actuator can be a closed circuit due to the virtual path model of the outer magnetic flux. The validity of virtual path method is evaluated by comparing to the FEM analysis. Structural vibration is investigated using FEM and the design of the mover is modified to improve the vibration characteristic. Dynamic characteristic experiments shows that the performance of the proposed actuator is enough to be used as a coarse and fine seeking actuator simultaneously and the thrust force margin for loading a focusing actuator is guaranteed.
